June Contest: Appeals

Faith tried to appear calm as she prepared for her performance backstage. She was normally confident during contests, but there had not been one in awhile. She hoped she had not gone stale. What if her mother was watching? She reminded herself that her partner would be by her side. They could do this together. She took a deep breath when she heard her name called. Then she determinedly walked out onto the stage. "Willy, let's do this!" She tossed a Pokeball in the air, and her Bibarel appeared.

"Start off with Aqua Tail and go into a Rollout!" She hoped this looked as good as it did in practice. Willy swiped his tail back and forth, covering it with water. Then he jumped into the air and turned into a ball, and the motion caused a ribbon of water to appear around the ball of his body. Then he rolled across the stage in zig zag patterns, causing new stripes to form on his fur. "Now Water Gun and then finish with a Headbutt!"

Willy jumped into the air and landed on his feet, sending droplets of water flying. He tilted his head straight up and a burst of water sprang forth. He leapt into the air head first, butting into the water and causing it to fall down in streams. He took a bow with his trainer as water fell all around him. Faith smiled as they exited the stage. They had done their best, and that was all that mattered.

Nate patiently waited for his turn to go on stage. He was not really into contests, but he did find them to be good experiences and great chances to see Pokemon in a unique way. He just needed to get better at them so he could learn more. Finally, it was time to go on stage. He strode confidently out onto the platform. He stopped in front of the curtain and released his Pokemon. "Watcher, use Quick Attack and Swift!"

As soon as the Umbreon landed on the ground, he dashed across the stage, leaving stars in his path. "Alright, now Bite!" The dark type turned around and started running in the direction he had come, biting the stars and creating confetti in the process. "Now use Feint Attack and Confuse Ray!" Watcher zipped right up tot he front of the stage. Finally, he sat while a weird light emitted from his eyes. Then trainer and Pokemon bowed before leaving the stage.

Tamaki could hardly wait for the contest to begin. He remembered contests form back in Hoenn, and he had always wanted to try one himself. He had worked hard with his Minun, and he was sure they were ready. He was the last one to go, which was fine for him. He was proud to be the big finale. He walked onto the stage with a wide grin on his face. "Andre!"

The Minun did a flip in the air and then struck a pose upon reaching the ground. "Use Play Nice and Nuzzle!" The electric type did a cute little dance. Then he climbed up onto his trainer's shoulder and nuzzled his neck. Tamaki smiled. "Thunder Wave!" Andre let loose a bolt of electricity and then jumped into the air. He did another slip and landed on the floor. "Finish with Discharge!" The Minun winked and then surrounded himself with electricity. Then he ran back to his trainer and climbed on top of his head. Tamaki bowed and departed the stage. That had been so much fun!
