OOC: This thread is for Faith and Tamaki's battle. In roleplay time this will occur after Zane and Nate's battle. Faith will post first. She will also have the first move.
IC: "Welcome back!" Principal Sash said after the short break. "We have one more battle for you before the final round. Please give it up for Faith from Hoenn and Tamaki from Sinnoh!" She could hardly wait to find out the winner of this one! She returned to her seat to watch. |

Faith proudly walked out onto the stage. She loved contests, and she hoped her coordinator mother would be proud of her. She did not know her opponent, so this would be interesting indeed. "Felicity, time to shine!" She tossed her ball in the air and her Totodile appeared, dancing in place. Tamaki strolled out onto the stage with a wide grin on his face. "Your prince has arrived!" He turned and bowed to Faith. "Hello, princess. Please meet my partner, Andre." He released his Minun from the confines of his Pokeball. "You have the first move, of course." Faith smiled at Tamaki. She was unused to the attention, but she did find it flattering. She knew he was a good guy. She took a minute to examine his Pokemon. They were going to have a tough time with this one. "Felicity, start off with Leer and Scratch!"
Felicity waved at the Minun. <Hi there! Let's have some fun.> She knew she was weak against electric types, but she was not worried. Contest battles were different, after all. She leered menacingly and then ran at her opponent, trying to make her movements as graceful as possible. Tamaki already had his first move planned perfectly. He knew exactly how to bring out his Minun's cuteness. "Andre, use Nuzzle!" They could get through this on top no matter how much damage they endured.
Andre whimpered as he was struck by the Totodile's attack. He hoped he would not be defeated by a water type. While his opponent was still close, he hopped forward and attempted to nuzzle him with his cheek, transferring electricity in the process. Faith knew she was at a disadvantage here. Thankfully, contests were about more than winning the battle. She only wished she knew her opponent better. "Felicity, use Scrach!"
Felicity watched the Minun carefully. She was surprised when he snuggled up to he,r but then a wave of electricity passed through her. Growling, she tried to get him off her by scratching him. Tamaki already had his next move planned. They were really so many options with his Minun. "Andre, Play Nice and Spark!" Yes, this would look good.
Andre moved back after he was scratched. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Then he hopped from foot to foot, urging his opponent to 'play nice.' He followed this up with an excellent Spark attack. Even Faith was impressed with her opponent's combination. She watched her points trickle down. She had to do something quick! "Okay, use Leer and Rage!"
Felicity instantly felt connected to the Minun. She just wanted to be friends! Even the Spark attack ceased to destroy her good feelings. She attempted a Leer, but she felt her heart was just not in it. Her Rage was equally feeble as she stumbled forward. Tamaki noticed the Totodile stumble and knew this was his chance. "Dodge that and use Discharge!" Time was running out, and this just might be his ticket to the top.
Andre jumped form foot to foot to keep his momentum going. In this way, he was able to dash out of the way o fhte water type Pokemon. He then grounded himself and let his electricity loose. Faith shielded her eyes from the great flash that the Minun's attack caused. She did not see that one coming! She watched in dismay as her points went down. She did not have much time left! "Felicity, use Rage again!"
Felicity stopped running when she realized she had not hit anything. She turned around just in time to see a bunch of electricity coming at her. The move cost her most of her energy, causing her to breath heavily. She sucked up her courage and funneled it into another Rage attack. Tamaki quickly glanced at the clock. Time was almost up, and he was currently in the lead! He still had great moved he wanted to show off, and he hoped he would have time to perform them. "Now leap in the air and use Spark!?
Andre smiled proudly at his work. Discharge was a fun move to use. His opponent suddenly came at him so fast that he was unable to get out of the way. He quickly regained his balance, though, and used his tail to launch himself into the air. From this position, he looked down and used Spark. Faith knew she was in trouble now. Was there any way to win? She felt afraid, but she reminded herself that her mother would never give up. She had to fight until the end! "Felicity, jump up and use Scratch!"
Right when she was about to celebrate her successful hit, she was struck by a powerful electric move that left her barely able to stand. She did not know how much more she could take. She took a deep breath and started to run. When she got close to the Minum, she leapt in the air and came down with her laws extended. Tamaki jumped up and down in excitement. That attack had been awesome! He could already taste his victory. His electric Pokemon was so awesome! He wanted to show off his cuteness even more. "Now Nuzzle!"
Andre allowed the Totodile to get close to him. He really hoped this plan would work. He endured the Scratch attack and then immediately leapt at the water type. He bent his head down and nuzzled her under her chin. He bet the audience loved this! Felicity did not have the strength to move away from the Minun. Electricity shook her body, and she finally fainted.
Faith gasped. "No, Felicity!" She sighed as she returned her to her Pokeball. "Thank you for performing hard." She smiled weakly at Tamaki. "Congratulations." Forgive me, mother. Principal Sash enjoyed another thrilling contest battle. This time, one of the Pokemon fainted before the time ran out. "And that is it!" she declared. "Totodile is unable to battle, so Minun and Tamaki are the victories! They will represent Sinnoh in the final round!" She could hardly wait for all the excitement. Tamaki has earned 20 points for his team!
Minun has gained 3 levels. He may now learn Helping Hand.
Totodile has gained 1 level. |
