Under normal circumstances, Micah was the type to enjoy being constantly surrounded by others. However, he'd yet to quite find his way at this new school. He recognized others, but he had yet to reach the point where he said he had friends. Well, besides the two Pokemon he had, of course. Those were the only friends he had at the moment. It was an odd feeling for someone who had been rather popular back in his old life.
Yet, he was surprisingly content. Micah would much rather be engaging with others, but he was okay where he was, sitting at an empty table in the far corner of the cafeteria picking at today's meal of pizza. Being a growing boy, he had four slices of pepperoni pizza with him that he was planning on eating in its entirely, in addition to some snack foods for desert. Eating healthy wasn't exactly high on his list of things to do today.
No, today he was observing others as he ate his meal in silence. He watched them, learning what they seemed to enjoy and who they seemed to hang out with. People watching was a surprisingly entertaining activity. He'd still prefer someone to hang out with, but, until a potential new friend appeared, he was content to watch what others were doing.

Gary paid for his food and stepped into the dining area of the cafeteria. He had bought a burger fries, a brownie, and an energy drink. It was everything he needed for fuel for the days. He stopped as his eyes roamed the tables, looking for one he could join. He did not feel like eating alone today, but he did not see anyone he knew. There were so many new students now that the academy had been renovated. It was all a bit overwhelming to him. He really did not want to sit at a table with a bunch of strangers. There had to be another option.
Then he saw a guy sitting alone in the far corner of the cafeteria. Gary was not sure if he should disturb him, for maybe he wanted to eat alone. Then again, he would never know unless he asked, and there were plenty of tables to choose from if he was rejected. With this in mind, he marched toward the back where the table stood. "Hello," he said politely to the boy who sat there, "Do you mind if I join you?"
