Walking down the halls of the school was a singular male of a rather tall stature. He stood at an impressive six feet four inches with hardened stagnate grey eyes that with a single glance seemed as if they could pierce through into your soul by just that one gaze. Their own a rather handsome male close to his twenties with flowing long silk black hair that which ran down his back and hung off his shoulders. His facial features were what one could describe as a pretty boy with his Bishounen looks that held its own sex appeal. His body was lean and fit that of a runner or a swimming. He had forsaken his traditional attire and gone with something more formal for his meeting at the principal’s office to which he would receive his very first pokemon.
His attire consisted of a long flowing kimono, the upper half was black and the lower a greyish white. The sleeves of his kimono were custom running past his fingers with an added six inches and white trims at the end. Underneath the sleeves he wore white tekkou and kind of glove. Around his waist a deep died purple Kaku Obi sash tied in a bow at the back. On his feet black tabi with straw rope Waraji tied around the Kyahan shin leggings beneath the leggings of his kimono, hanging on his shoulders a long flowing black Kimono giving him a rather noble aristocratic look. While his grandparents had been strict they had taught him many important lessons and had raised him as one of the upper class.
He walked steadily, back straight with no slouch at all and had a confident air around. His waraji patted lightly as he turned a corner ignoring the stares that followed. He was curious as to just what type of pokemon he would receive, personally he didn’t care if it was strong, strength came in time to those who trained. As long as he got a companion who was willing to train and grow strong he didn’t care who or what it was. He truly did not wish to become the best but he did not wish to be weak.
He reached his intended location and examined the door looking at it with a scrutinising glance as if it was going to come to life and attack him. He sighed and reached out and gave the door three soft knocks not to loud but just right indicating his presence, “Excuse me for the interruption. I am here to receive my starter. I do apologise if I am interrupting" spoke Yami in a soft delicate and polite manner as he opened the door and made his way in bowing deeply to whoever was inside all the while introducing himself, "Hello it is a pleasure to meet you, I am Hateshiginai, Yamijin"

The new semester had been running for two weeks. Principal Sash was pleased with how smoothly everything was going. The students seemed to like the new team system. It helped bond together members of the same team and create friendly competition between members of opposing teams. It was a new, unique way for them to learn and grow as trainers. Sash was glad she had listened to vice principal Turner on this. She had been afraid fierce competition would tear the school apart, but if anything, it was making it stronger. They were all after the same goal, after all, and hard work and competition brought out the best in all sides. She could not wait to see how the tournament at the end of the semester turned out.
The principal was currently at her desk going through some paper work. Her load was lessening now, but there were still new students coming in. This was to be expected, and she did not mind. Everyone could be at their own pace. Also, since adding the coordinator path, many more students wanted to attend the school. This was good news for the academy. They were really getting their name out their and attracting good trainers. She was looking forward to see how the school would develop. She had great visions and big dream. Her thoughts sometimes distracted her, so Maya, her Vulpix, had to nudge her in the leg every now and then.
Maya heard the knock first. She tugged on her trainer's pant leg to let her know someone was there. Sash instantly snapped out of her daydreaming. She stood up just as someone entered. She noticed that this guy was older than most of the students, but she did not find anything wrong with that. They accepted everyone at Cherilli Academy. She gave him a warm smile when he finished speaking. "Hello. I am Principal Sash. You are not interrupting anything." She enjoyed breaks to give new students their starter Pokemon. It was so much fun! She grabbed a piece of paper from her desk and strolled over to him. "Fill this out and I will find three Pokemon for you to choose from." She held the paper out for him to take it. |

Yami stood straight pulling out of his bow as the Principle approached him with a paper in hand asking for him to fill it in for her so she would be able to find three pokemon that were suitable for him and he would have to choose one of them. He accepted the paper that was handed to him thanking her and began to read over it. They seemed like simple enough questions one designed to analyse his personality and from there no doubt pick three suitable pokemon who matched his personality or had similar personalities or could put up with him, an aptitude test. He looked over the questions reading them first before he would answer them, did he enjoy walks? An easy going personality? Did he enjoy swimming? Love to explore? these were just a few of the thirty-five questions that were listed on the application. He pulled a pen out of his kimono sleeves and began to write down his answers using the key provided A) Very True, B) True, C) Somewhat True, D) Untrue and E) Very Untrue. He thought over each question answering some quickly others he thought carefully about.
When he finally finished answering the questions he placed the paper down on her desk for her to look at. While he kept his face stone cold not showing a single shred of emotion by hiding in behind a veil on the inside he was slightly ecstatic. He could not wait to find out who his first pokemon would be though no doubt the choice he would have to make would be one of the most difficult of his time. How could he pick out of three? It all depend on who he would be offered he would either be able to make an easy choice or a hard choice. Once he made the choice he was stuck with it there would be no going back what so ever.

Sash looked up from her desk when the student approached. "Thank you," she said as she picked up the paper. Her eyes scanned the answers. Her mind was trained to think of possibilities as she read. She thought she had three good Pokemon ready. He was bounded to like at least one of them. She nodded to herself. "I'll be right back." She carefully placed the paper in a particular pile before standing up. Then she made her way to the back of the room where the Pokeballs were stored. She returned to the student with three Pokeballs in her arms. "These are the three you may choose from." She released them each for him to see. She hoped he approved of the choices.

Yami nodded as she left after reading through his answers no doubt to find the three pokemon he could choose from. He waited patiently as she returned with three pokeballs in her arm telling him that he could pick one of those three before releasing them. The first was a bipedal, reptilian Pokémon with a slender build. Most of its body was green with a cream underside. Running all the way down the length of its tail and back was a yellow stripe with matching yellow markings around its two large eyes. Protruding from each shoulder bending backwards were two curbed yellow structures closely resembling leaves or small wings. On the end of its tail it had a large palmate leaf with three prongs. He recognised it as a Snivy the grass snake pokemon.
The second was a bipedal blue reptilian like pokemon resembling a Pachycephalosaurus. The strange pokemon had a large round snow, triangular likw eyes and yellow circular ears. Its lower jaw was yellow with two protruding teeth on each side of its jaw facing upwards. On the top of its head and going downwards to cover its neck was three thick, grey ridge coverings. On its underside a yellow triangular like patch. Lastly it had stubby fingerless less arms and short legs with two toes on its feet. he recognised this pokemon as the dragon type bagon. As he looked down at it he felt a small connection with this pokemon but continued on to look at the third.
The third was most likely a fire type. It was a bipedal Pokémon with a red body. A yellow flame like marking was on its stomach. Large lumps covered its head and it had a rounded yellow beak for a mouth. On its back was a single spike with a tapered tail. It had three clawed fingers on its short arms and two clawed toes on its feet. This was Magby a fire time pokemon from what he could identify.
Yami crouched down to eye level and scrutinised each one of them looking over the three carefully in order to make his choice. Time ticked away as he looked at each moving back and forth taking up to ten minutes to come to a proper decision. He stood to his full height of 6'4" and placed a hand atop the Bagon, "I will take this one in as my partner" he said softly.

Sash waited patiently while the student tried to make a decision. She did not mind the wait. She knew this was a big step in the life of a trainer, and sometimes time was needed to make the proper choice. However, she did take the chance to find a starter back in the back of the room so that she would be ready when the boy had made up his mind. She brightened when he finally spoke. "Very good. Here is its Pokeball and a start park." She held out the sphere and the backpack. "You're all set." She was glad to have set up one more student with his new partner. She was sure there were great things in store for him.

Yami accepted the items presented to him. He took a hold of pokeball pointing it towards the Bagon. A beam of red light shot out of the sphere connecting to Bagon engulfing him in its lights before he vanished the light returning to the sphere. Yami pocketed the sphere before taking the backpack throwing it over his shoulder. He bowed politely, "Thank you for your assistance, have a lovely day" spoke Yami before he turned on his heels and left the office heading to the dorms to check out the room in which he would be staying at. Once he checked out the dorm he would head off to train his new comrade a little to increase its strength as well as hopefully catch a few new pokemon for his team.
