Today was an interesting day for Micah, to say the least. Everything that he was doing right now was completely out of character for the sixteen-year-old boy. But, just because it was different for him didn't necessarily mean that it was bad. It was just strange, but it was probably for the best.
Once again, Micah could be found alone, which was rather out of character for the a boy that had spent his entire childhood surrounded by friends. Though, he supposed he could write off the complete lack of crowds around him attributable to the complete freak show that was the Cherilli Academy students. They were either complete dorks (who he didn't completely mind) or little wannabe gangsters that just looked like childish idiots. When he set off exploring today, it was because he just couldn't deal with either group anymore.
In most of his explorations thus far, however, he had at least had the company of his Pokemon, but they were currently snug inside their pokeballs. If he wasn't worried about at least one of them running off and drowning in the pond or getting lost, he would have let them out. He just didn't have that much confidence in them yet, though.
Another thing that he was doing that was completely out of character was that he was reading. Or, perhaps, the better word was studying, but that was equally out of the ordinary. He was sitting at the foot of a rather large tree with his back up against it, leaning against the bark, not caring about the fact that his windbreaker and jeans were probably getting dirty. His knees were pushed up near his chest so he could rest a book - a book on battle strategies - on them.
See, Micah had recently come to the conclusion that he would be making himself quite a few enemies at this new school, starting with the idiot that couldn't control his Vulpix. Now, Micah was too cool to care about what other people thought about him, but there was no way he was going to get beaten if he was ever challenged to a battle. Which, unfortunately, meant he had to study Pokemon battling. Around others, he had no problem pretending he was the greatest trainer in the world, but, in reality, he knew next to nothing about the abilities his own Pokemon had in battle.
