A Time to Chill [Open]
|
Post by Sawyer Fylan on Feb 22, 2014 17:17:14 GMT -5
Sawyer decided this was a good time to take a break from training and relax. She had not met anyone else at the school yet, and she wondered what the people were like. She knew she had too roommates, but she had never managed to catch them. Hopefully she would be able to meet someone else from her team f she hung out in the living room. Her Litleo, Kopa, and her shiny Skunky, Tammy, walked on either side of her as she entered the room. The place did not look too bad. It would definitely be a cool place to chill. There was a kitchen around too in case any of them got hungry.
Tammy scrambled onto the couch. She turned and laid down near the pillow on the right side. <This is nice,> she said with a yawn. It was very warm and comfortable in here, unlike the park during the cold winter. She could get used to this sort of life.
Kopa hopped up onto the couch next tot he Skunky. <Yes, it is,> he agreed. After defeating that Ekans, he was about ready to relax as well. It felt good to have gotten in a hard day's work.
Sawyer grabbed the remote before taking the seat on the left of the couch. "Let's see what's on." Maybe some station would be airing a Pokemon battle. She was always eager to learn in order to increase her own skills.

The cranidos was more than a little surprised that Serkan could carry him. He shouldn’t. Serkan was a robust young man and something a bit over fifty pounds wasn’t an issue. <You carried me from our room, Mister Serkan. That’s plenty.>
Letting the cranidos down gently as they entered the living room, the country boy let out a little bit of a grunt. He was wearing only a wife beater and a pair of blue jeans, sockless feet looking pretty nasty. ”Well, don’t go callin’ me a liar, ‘n’ I won’t have to carry ya’.” He smiled smugly, crossing his arms as the lightest of sweat sheens covered him. Rolling his shoulders, he spotted Sawyer looking cozy with her two pokemon.
”Howdy!” he greeted, walking over to one of the reclining chairs. Plopping himself down it in, he let out a much louder grunt when Khopesh made himself at home in Serkan’s lap. The boy winced as the cranidos almost stepped on something important. ”Buddy, ya’ gotta warn me ‘bout stuff like this!”
<Sorry, sir.> Regardless, the cranidos settled himself in the country boy’s like a big puppy.
Relaxing again, the green eyed boy grinned as he nodded to Sawyer. ”My name’s Serkan. What’re we watchin’?”

Sawyer started flipping through the channels, trying to find something interesting. She turned her head when someone else entered the room. It was a boy... and he was carrying a Cranidos. She found this quite odd, for Cranidos were pretty heavy. He must have done a lot of hard, physical labor in his past. She had to say, she was impressed. "Hello," she said when he addressed her. He sounded like he was from the country. It looked like they already has something in common. "I'm Sawyer. This is Kopa and Tammy." She glanced back at the TV with a small frown. "I don't know. There doesn't seem to be much on." Nothing that interested her, at least.
Kopa was amused by the Cranidos' insistence on sitting on his trainer's lap. Wouldn't that hurt. <Hello,> he said, nodding a the other Pokemon. He looked strong. He wondered if they could battle sometime. Next to him, Tammy did not say anything, for she had become so comfortable that she fell asleep.

Sawyer! Sounded like a character from a book he supposed he was supposed to identify with. Of course, if he had actually bothered to read the book, he might be able to form an opinion. As it was, he merely thought the name was very distinguished sounding.
”Nice lookin’ pokemon ya’ got, Miss Sawyer. My cranidos is Khopesh.” That furry off-pink one was especially fancy looking. Being unaware of unpractical things, he didn’t actually know what the shiny colors of most pokemon were. In fact, he didn’t know the normal colors of stunkies, so he couldn’t make heads or tails of her. The was more interested in the litleo, to be honest. The fire type had a tough, hard working air about him. Serkan respect that. ”Didja check to see if Officer Jennies* was on?”
<Greetings and salutations,> the stuffy cranidos responded, looking the litleo over. Much like his trainer, Khopesh was impressed by the fire type. Even a bit intimidated by his musculature. <Are you a domestically bred or wild pokemon?> Ah, the subject of ancestry was always of great interest to Khopesh.
*I tried to make a reference to Cops. Haha?

Sawyer smiled at the boy's compliment. "Thank you." She turned to the Cranidos. "Nice to met you, Khopesh." She found Cranidos fascinating since it had been resurrected from a fossil. She wished she could see one in battle. She glanced back at Serkan when he spoke again. "No, I haven't." It was a good suggestion, actually. She quite liked that show. She just was not familiar with the stations in this region. She continued to flip through the channels until she found something that looked familiar. "Here it is." She set the remote down and leaned back into the couch's cushions.
Kopa cocked his head curiously at the Cranidos. That sure was an interesting way to speak. The question sounded just as odd to him. What did it matter where he came from? It was his actions who proved who he was. He decided to answer, though, to be polite. Perhaps this guy was just making small talk. <I come from the wild. What about you?> OOC: XD

Serkan grinned like a bird trapped in a grainery. He snickered as the Officer Jenny on the screen hopped off her arcanine, running down the suspect. ”Straight up idiot,” the black haired boy noted. ”Darn fool fixin’a get caught up in the barbed wire.” He fumbled around the side of the lounge chair for a leaver. Where…? Bingo! Finding it, he let himself ease back, hands behind his head. He would have crossed his legs if he didn’t have over half a hundred pounds on his lap. He was strong, but not stupid. There was a strong chance this bunch of rocks could seriously injure him if Serkan got reckless.
Khopesh chirped in greeting to Sawyer before returning to his conversation with Kopa. <Oh, how nice! You have more experience than I do, then.> The cranidos sheepishly nuzzled his beakish nose into the armrest of the couch. <I’m just a clone, you know, of a real cranidos that lived very long ago.> He sighed longingly. <Might I ask what it was like? If it’s not intrusive, of course.> Being a clone was odd, in truth. He didn’t feel like a fake, but the awareness that his kind were not commonly found in the wild least they be escaped clones themselves was a bit of a heartbreak. He was a fish out of temporal water. He didn’t belong except at Serkan’s side. This litleo, though… this was his world.

Sawyer smirked slightly at Serkan's comments. This show was quite amusing. She had not been able to watch it for awhile. She looked to her right to see Tammy sleeping. She was leaning against Kopa, who did not seem to mind. The trainer smiled, glad they could get along like this. Now she was just going to have to work on her Ekans. Isis would be good in battle, but she was going to have to learn how to work with the others at as a team. Sawyer did not want any tension. She looked back at the TV as she tried to come up with ideas.
A clone? That was so interesting. Kopa watched the Cranidos curiously, hardly noticing when the Stunky leaned into him. What his life like? What was it like to be a clone was more like! He supposed he should answer Khopesh's question first. <It was great,> he said, swishing his tail from side to side. <I lived with a pride of Litleo and Pyroar. We had to find our own food and look after ourselves. It was neat coming across a lot of different Pokemon all the time.> He had not thought about his past life in awhile. He had been in Principal Sash's office for so long that he had almost forgotten what it was like to be free.

While their trainers contentedly watched the show (with many a loud, whuffling laugh or redundant comment from Serkan), the duo of male pokemon conversed.
Khopesh’s little maw opened in awe. A pride! He wondered that would be like. The litleo sounded very independent. His life sounded exciting and a bit glamorous. <Oh, how adventurous!> The cranidos hid his face a bit in the arm rest. Serkan grunted as the rock type almost crushed the trainer’s arm between Khopesh’s beak and the furniture. The Unovan lifted his arm up and out of the way. <My life isn’t nearly that exciting. My first memory is getting a clean bill of health and then being shipped off here. I’ve never actually be anywhere by myself,> he admitted. He probably sounded like a huge coddled child to this litleo.
Idly, Khopesh wondered if the litleo and the stunky were mates. He didn’t understand breeding groups very well--having no reason to this early in life--but he thought they made a handsome match.

Kopa supposed his life had been pretty excited. However, it was in the past, and he was prepared for whatever the future would bring. He had a knew goal now, which he planned to work hard to achieve. The past was interesting to him, but he knew it was the actions of the present that determined the future, which was far more important. <I'm sure you'll go on many exciting adventures with your trainer.> Both of them were just getting started, and the academy was a whole new setting for both of them. Who knew what was in store? <If you train hard, good things will follow.> He wondered if the Cranidos had ever been in a battle.

<You think so?> Khopesh asked. It wasn’t that he doubted it--with how hot blooded his trainer was, he was sort of surprised they hadn’t already done something of that nature. He just… sort of, doubted that he would be able to handle it. He grinned gratefully at the litleo, whether or not the fire type was aware of the support he had given the cranidos. <Yes.> Sitting up, Khopesh managed to move his knee wrong.
Serkan yelped in response. He doubled over in the chair, shaking in pain. <****! Khopesh, didn’t I tell ya’ about landin’ on somethin’ important?!>
<Master Serkan, I’m sorry--!> the cranidos began. He just wanted to alert Serkan to the fact that he wanted to go train somewhere. Whimpering in shame, the cranidos got down so that his owner could hobble back towards their room. Look back at the other trainer and her duo of pokemon, the cranidos bowed. <My humblest apologies. I hurt him. I suppose we’ll see you all later?> With that, the rock type rushed after his still grumbling in pain owner.

Sawyer flinched in surprise when Serkan cried out. She turned to him, appearing puzzled. Then she understood. She nodded at the Cranidos as he ran after his trainer. "It's alright. I'll see you later." Boy, this was an interesting situation. She hoped both of them would be alright.
Kopa watched the scene with a small frown. <Oh, ok. Bye.> It was too bad about what happened. He had liked talking to the other Pokemon. Hopefully they would see each other again soon.
Tammy stirred beside him. <What's going on?> she asked as she opened her eyes and yawned. She had missed everything.
