Zaphinea dressed herself accordingly, then woke the softly snoring Ledyba that slept beside her. She grinned at the little creature, as it yawned and then rose to look at her.
“Morning, Lyra. Sleep good?” Zaphinea pulled her shoes on, then searched for her hoodie.
“Yes, I slept well. It was very nice.” The bug smiled and wiped her little face with silly feet.
“We are going to start a garden today. How’s that sound?” Zaphinea tugged on her jacket, and turned to look for her wallet. It was in her back pack, where she had left it the previous day.
“A garden sounds very nice. I’d like that a lot!” The sweet little voice was a melody to Zaphinea’s ears, but slightly loud.
“Okay, let’s try to be quiet until we get outside, though.” Zaph’s eyes went toward her sleeping roommate. He was still passed out. Zaph shook her head. He was nice, so she wouldn’t be rude and wake him up too early. As it was, the clock read that it was 7:30 Am. She doubted he wanted to get up that early.
Stuffing her wallet into her jacket pocket, she headed out the door with her bug in tow. She took the stairs two at a time, coming quickly to the first floor. There was only a couple of other students awake, but they paid her no mind. Zaphinea simply shouldered through the large glass doors, holding them until Lyra had come through behind her.
Zaphinea figured that she would walk to town. That would be the easiest if Jack did not show up. Perhaps she would just go anyways. She doubted that it was that far. Zaph knew that she may as well get used to the walk. By the looks of it, it was going to happen often. The Cafeteria food was to be desired, so she would be cooking most of her own meals. That was nothing new in the world of Zaphinea.
Her feet hit the grass, and she made her way toward the parking lot, and the road that lead away from the school.
