Kopa worked hard to keep up with his trainer so that he could stay under her umbrella. They were tying as quickly as they could to make it from the classroom building to the Water Building (Kopa hated the name). Finally, Sawyer pulled open the door, and the Litleo rushed inside. <I hate rain,> he said, shaking his fur and spraying little droplets everywhere. Not only did it mess up his beautiful fur, it decreased his power and hurt his mane.
Sawyer looked down at him sympathetically. She knew he hated water, but she had decided to bring him to class anyway. "Maybe I should have put you in your Pokeball." She pulled in her umbrella and set it against a wall.
Kopa snorted. <I hate that too.> The two of them stepped into the lounge. The Litleo forgot about his rain problems as he saw that the room looked very comfortable and fun. There was much more here than the living room in the dorm. He ran over to a bean bag chair and hopped on it to make himself comfortable.
Meanwhile, Sawyer had found a smoothie machine. She would have preferred coffee or hot chocolate, but a smoothie could be nice as well. As she looked over the possible flavors, she wondered if her Pokemon would like one as well. They are fruit, right? Maybe it would be a good treat for them both.

Nate did not usually mind the rain. However, the nature of an academy campus made it so that there were huge puddles all over the place that were nearly impossible to avoid. Watcher managed to leap over most of them, but his trainer was less successful. The Eevee occasionally shook his fur in distaste at being wet. He was not a big fan of the rain himself."We're almost there," Nate said encouragingly. The two of them were headed back from a class. The Water Building was closer than Sinnoh's hall, so he thought they could stop by the lounge until the rain let up a bit.
Both trainer and Pokemon were relieved when a door came into view. Nate held it open for the Eevee and walked in after him. Watcher shook his fur, spraying droplets of water everywhere. That was much better. His ears immediately perked up when he noticed a Litleo situated upon a bean bag chair. Great, a new friend! Without waiting for permission, he bounded over to the lion Pokemon. <Hello,> he said cheerfully. <I'm Watcher.>
Nate could not help but smile as his Pokemon ran off to introduce himself to yet another Pokemon. Turning, he noticed a girl by the smoothie machine. He wondered if she was the Litleo's trainer. In addition, a smoothie sounded pretty good right about now. He put on a smile as he strolled over to her. "Good afternoon," he said politely. "Are you surviving the rain?" His own hair was dripping because he had forgotten his umbrella in his dorm, but she seemed fine.

Kopa lifted his head when he heard someone approach. It was an Eevee. He let out a yawn before responding. <Hi,> he said. <I'm Kopa.> He was too comfortable to move, so he lay there staring at Watcher, who looked like he had gotten wet from the storm. <Rain is the worst, isn't it?> Really, it made him want to stay indoors and sleep all day. Training was only good in the sun.
Sawyer had just decided on a flavor when someone spoke to her. She turned to see a boy standing there. She did not recognize him, so she did not assume he was from her team. Still, she should probably be cordial to him. "Hello," she said with a nod. "I'm managing. My Litleo is taking it worse than I am." She motioned to Kopa on the chair. Then she gave the boy a small smile to show him that she was friendly. "I'm Sawyer." She wondered if he wanted to talk for long or if he was just being polite. She would not care either way. She did not have much to do right now.

Watcher could understand why Kopa hated the rain. The Litleo was a fire type, after all. <Yeah, I don't like it too much either,> he said, swishing his tail. He glanced back at Nate and saw him talking to a girl. Curiously, he returned his gaze to Kopa. <Is that your trainer?> He guessed she was since there were no other people around.
Nate smiled slightly at the girl's comment. Yeah, fire types did not do well in the rain. The Litleo seemed to be fine now, though. "I hope it lets up soon so we can head home. It's nice to meet you." He paused. Perhaps now was a good time to ask her where she lived. He was simply curious. He did enjoy meeting students from all of the teams. "Which team are you in? I'm in Sinnoh." He hoped she was not the type to stick to just her team. If that was true, though, wouldn't she be in her hall living room instead of the group lounge?

Kopa looked to see who Watcher was referring to. There were only two humans in the room. <Yep,> the lion said lazily. <That's Sawyer. I assume your trainer is next to her.> The bean bag chair was very comfortable. He almost wanted to fall asleep, but he knew that would be rude.
Yes, Sawyer wished the rain would let up as well. She did not want to force Kopa to walk in it again. She put a cup under the smoothie machine and chose a selection as she listened to Nate talk. Sinnoh? She had not met anyone from there yet. Actually, she had not met many students in general. "I'm in Team Unova. It's where I'm from." When her smoothie was finished, she replaced it with a clean up to make one for her Litleo.

Watcher smiled at Kopa. <Cool. Yeah, that's Nate. We've been with each other for awhile now.> His gaze drifted across the lounge. He wondered if he should take a seat somewhere on the couch. he decided to wait to see where his trainer would go.
Nate nodded. "And I'm from Sinnoh." He had never met anyone from Unova. He had never been to the region either. He wondered what is was like. He watched as Sawyer started to fill a second cup. Perhaps she was getting a smoothie for her Litleo. "Are those good?" Though this was his second semester at the school, he had never tried out the smoothie machine. Perhaps he should give them a shot. Watcher might enjoy one.

<Sawyer and I are both new to each other,> Kopa said. <We get along great, though.> They both had the same values, goals, and commitment to them. He was sure there were great things ahead for them.
When the second smoothie was finished, Sawyer took it and placed it next to the first one. "I don't know," Sawyer said in response to Nate's question. She started to put lids on and straws in both of the cups. "You're welcome to join us." Without waiting for a response, she picked up both of the cups and started walking over to her Pokemon. It was time for a bit of refreshment.

<That's good,> Watcher said. <Nate and I get along great as well.> The two of them were best friends. The Eevee could not wait for all of the adventures they would share together. He looked up when Sawyer approached. <Hello.>
Nate smiled slightly at the invitation. "Sure, thanks. Just give me a minute." He wanted to get some smoothies for him and his Pokemon as well. He put a cup under the dispenser while he considered his options. Wow, there were many flavors. He decided to go for a simple banana for himself and pushed the button. Then he thought about Watcher's favorite fruits and berries. He knew exactly what to get for him.

Sawyer sat on the couch that was perpendicular to the bean bag chair where Kopa was laying. "Hello there," she said to both Pokemon. To the Litleo, she added, "I got you a smoothie." She set it on the floor in front of him. She hoped he would like it. She took of sip of her own. Hmm... Not bad. She bet it would taste even better in the summer. She would have to remember to come back here and try it out then.
<Hi,> Kopa said, smiling when his trainer reappeared. He stared at the smoothie curiously. It looked like some sort of drink, but the cover prevented him from seeing what it was. It certainly smelled good. He bent over and sipped from the straw. Fruity flavors filled his mouth. <It's not bad.> He glanced at Watcher. <You should try one.>

Nate quickly filled up a second smoothie after getting down with the first. Then he put lids and straws on and in them and carried them over to the couch. "I've got one for you too, buddy," he said to Watcher. "Where are you sitting?"
Watcher watched Kopa taste the smoothie. He smiled when his own trainer brought one over to him. Where was he sitting? There was a comfy chair next to the bean bag chair, so he jumped onto it. <Right here is fine.>
Nate set the smoothie on the chair next to him. Then he walked over to Sawyer and said down next to her. "So, what's your Litleo's name? Is he your start?" He took a sip of his smoothie. Yum. Banana.

Kopa looked up when Watcher hopped onto the chair. <Now you're higher than me,> he said with a smirk. He vaguely wondered if the two of them could battle sometime. It would be friendly, of course. He liked the Eevee.
Sawyer took another sip of her smoothie. She smiled slightly when Nate joined them with smoothies for everyone. She did not make friends easily, so she was glad this boy liked her. She hoped she would not do something to mess it up. She knew it was important to have friends, even if they were not in her team. "His name is Kopa. Yes, he's my starter. We just met this semester. What about your Eevee?"

Watcher smiled at Kopa. <Yes, I am.> He sipped his smoothie again. <You're right. These are good.> He relaxed on the chair. The rain was not so bad if he remained indoors.
The Litleo's name sounded unusual to Nate, but he was sure there was a reason behind it. "His name is Watcher. He's my starter as well. We've been with each other since the beginning of last semester." The time has seemed to fly by. Now they were almost ready to challenge the first battle leader and also enter the March contest. Only good things could proceed from there.

Kopa sipped his own drink. Yes, they were quite good. He decided to close his eyes for a minute. He was just so comfortable in this bean bag chair...
Sawyer nodded. "I just got here this semester. I've already caught too Pokemon." She had only battled one, but she still considered the other a victory. Now she could focus on training them to make them stronger. She wanted to be the best she could be so she could help lead her team to victory. She definitely wanted to be in that tournament. She took a sip of her smoothie and smiled as she thought about the exciting future.

Watcher was slightly amused when the Litleo seemed to fall asleep. He must have had a long day. The Eevee was still hungry, so he continued to sip his smoothie while he listened to his trainer's conversation.
"That's nice," Nate said with a small smile. "I have four Pokemon besides Watcher. One of them hatched from an egg. It was exciting, especially since I want to be a Pokemon breeder." Perhaps he should buy another egg to see how he would manage the second time around. Hands-on experience was the best kind of learning. "What do you want to do after graduation?" It fascinated him how many options there were. Everyone he met was different, which made his relationships more unique.

"Ooo... that's exciting," Sawyer said when he mentioned having an egg. That sounded like an interesting project, but she was unsure how well she would take care of an egg herself. Perhaps she would take on the responsibility once she learned a bit more about Pokemon. "A breeder? Cool." She had never met anyone who wanted to be a Pokemon breeder. "I want to enter the Unova League and become a Pokemon master." She smiled and sat up proudly. She was sure she could reach her goal if she just worked hard enough.
