Jenna chuckled. ”Ramses, I expect a lot of things, but for a guy to act like a gentleman? Psh, it’s 2014, not 1914.” She winked playfully. ”I just don’t want you killing them or anything.” Pausing to think of what he said, she frowned. ”Hey… she ain’t really hurt or anything, is she?” Guilt ran through her for a moment. This was an official battle, a show of skill--not a death match! There were supposed to be damaged prides, not ruined bodies!

Perhaps her distraction with whether or not her pokemon had crossed the line caused her to move more slowly than was good for her shuckle.

The shuckle tried to backpedal, but between the smoke and the leech seed, she just didn’t have it in her. She let out a yelp of pain and retreated into her shell after the ember hit. It was clear that she was quite done.

”Aw, man… this is embarrassing. I hate being the first battle leader…” Jenna complained, only half-serious. Getting over it quickly, she returned Linda. ”Good game, Ramses. Nice elemental trio, by the way.” Hm, she had paperwork to fill out after this. Stretching, the battle leader nodded in approval. ”You beat me, kiddo. I’ll make sure you get credit for this by the end of the day.” Pausing, she ran over to her work bench in the back of the grassy room. Digging around for a moment, she then ran over to Ramses, offering him the first part of his reward. ”Five rare candies, kiddo! Don’t use ‘em all in one gut. Or, do. I’m a battle leader, not your mom.”
