The nidoran was knocked back, chirping and squeaking in protest. Upon righting herself and shaking off what was left of the unnatural fire, she growled at the deino. She charged at him, ready to scratch at his shaggy black chest. Her accuracy was lowered due to her hustle ability, but any benefit from said ability was negated by her rivalry ability. The pack-duo watched idly. <Wonder if he’ll eat ‘er,> the arcanine wondered. Nidorans weren’t known for being tasty, due to how toxic they were, but a dragon might stomach it better than a hound. level: 5 attacks: growl, scratch abilities: poison point, rivalry, hustle hit by: dragon rage used: growl, scratch health: high red

"Again Falcor! You've got it!" promoted the pierced Pokemon trainer. He was glad that he was here now. This distraction from all the negativity was serving him well. Just being back around the other creatures helped immensely too. The tiger-dog, the hyena-like beast, and his new little buddy; they were like a family to the otherwise solo player. He sighed, thinking about Sabrina once again. The last he had seen of her, Jack was carrying her off in his arms. Rae figured her for dead, but would have no way of knowing what had actually become of her, until he saw Jack again. For now, he would continue on, wondering, regretting... The deino once again responded to Rae's cheering and though irritated by the enemy's scratch, it unleashed another wave of power, trying to finish off the foe and make his daddy, momma-hyena and uncle-arcanine proud! RAE’S ADVENTURE The nidoran rolled back, heat and intensity of the dragon rage blasting her away. She wobbled on her hind legs for a moment before chirping, ”Whoa!” and passing out. The mightyena barked happily. <Look at him!! I was there when he hatched!! He’s so strong!!> She looked up to Rae and the arcanine, again, as if they hadn’t seen Falcor’s second battle. She pranced in place before loping over to the dragon’s side, fondly licking at his cheek. The arcanine was a bit embarrassed by Big Mama’s actions. <Geez… we’re in public.>Falcor gained 2 levels! Rae earned 15 points! Will you capture the nidoran?

This time, Rae was ready with an empty pokeball. As soon as he saw the opponent collapse, he chucked it forth, hoping his aim was a little better on this occasion. When he saw the sphere impact with the creature's body and pop open, he knew he had it. He looked at the hyena, the tiger-bear-dog and finally at his dinosaur thing. It was incredible... they, were incredible. He smiled softly, before giving the arcanine another loving pat atop his head.
"Hey guys whaddaya say we go meet back up with the others?" he inquired, before feeling something bump against his leg. Looking down, he saw the dinosaur with the long hair, looking up at him, with someone in its mouth. "Huh? whatcha got there little one?" Rae wondered, before extending his hand carefully toward the creature's mouth. Falcor dropped the sphere into Rae's palm and the smoker's eyes lit up. "Good boy!" he exclaimed, clutching the pokeball in his grip.
He had already had great success with this new Pokemon and he couldn't wait to see what Rameses was involved with. Rae was a little hungry though. Maybe a stop back at the den for a little snack would be a good idea. They could recuperate a bit, then head out to regroup with the others. "Your call guys, take a short break at the den, or head off to find the others." Knowing they would make a fine choice either way, Rae got cozy atop the arcanine and yawned, feeling like it was nearing nap time regardless.
ooc: If they decide to head back to the den, perhaps they encounter the lucario messing up the den and catch him in the act.

Things were starting to look like trouble. Rameses began to wonder if the evolved strength of Surtur would be enough. The two were now taking a gamble that he would. Above all else, Rameses wanted to believe in the fire type when every pokemon here doubted his friend's powers. It was just a difficult battle to bear because the Skarmory was really testing the resilience of the Charmeleon. Rameses could take little more as he saw Surtur get hit by yet another of the steel types attacks. Apparently, Surtur couldn't take much more of it either. As the Charmeleon recovered from the last attack, his tail flame began to burn brighter and stronger than ever. A real intensity could be seen in his eye as he smacked his tail against the ground. Rameses took this as the end of play time. "Surtur, show this Skarmory your power. Show them all your power! Ember!" The flame on the Charmeleon's tail grew even more intense. Rameses could no longer tell if the heat was being generated from the lava caves or from Surtur. The fire type inhaled, and when he exhaled a burst of flame shot off in the direction of the Skarmory. RAE’S ADVENTURE
Earned 5 points! species: nidoran type: poison gender: female level: 5 attacks: growl, scratch abilities: poison point, rivalry, hustle nature: average jane. She’s polite enough, doesn’t stand out from the crowd, and tries to just get by without rubbing anyone the wrong way. She doesn’t like a challenge. … she’s the pokemon equivalent of plain bread. As the honorary pack member patted the arcanine, he turned around to give Rae a wet, sloppy lick on the arm. Everyone was bonding smoothly, which was extremely important to these types of creatures. The pack hadn’t any idea of Rae’s life outside the caverns, but after these sorts of incidents, they probably would have defended his standing to the fullest. He was one of them, sort of. Big Mama was about to agree to take Rae back to the den when a loud, aggressive howl sounded off through the caves. There was a bit of panic in it. The arcanine needn’t have any warning. Unless the deino bit him to tell him that Falcor could move on his own, the arcanine would pick the baby up by the scruff before running with the mightyena into the caves, following the source of the howl. <That was our alpha!> the mightyena supplied.
RAMESES’S ADVENTURE The houndoom chuckled, sensing the charmeleon’s increase in power even from over here. <Heh. The blaze ability.> Was that… approval? <Impressive.> Yeah, that was approval in the old alpha’s voice. Meanwhile, the skarmory got hit by the increased power of the ember. Between the charmeleon’s same type attack bonus, her weakness to fire, and the increased power of the blaze ability, she went down. She hissed and crashed as she hit the earth, metallic body protesting such embarrassment. After a moment, though, she finally passed out. <... well, that worked out nicely,> the umbreon muttered. He was about to go over and praise the human and reptile duo for their efforts when another, new voice broke into the smoky cave area. <Did’n it, tho’?>There was a yelp from the houndour and chuckling, then the voice and the youngest pack member was gone. The houndoom was after them in a heartbeat, howling. The umbreon was left to deal with Rameses. <Alright kid, we’re rolling out. Catch that thing or leave it, but if you’re not ready soon, I’m ditchin’ ya!> Things had just gotten serious, it seemed. <He would be out in about just to do that... Alpha's really gonna kill 'im.>Rameses earned 40 points! Surtur earned 3 levels! Will you catch the skarmory?

Rae hunkered down on the back of the arcanine, holding on tight. He had heard the howl from deep in the cave and it caused his heart to skip a beat. Something was wrong and all of the pack was responding to it. Whatever it was, Rae was going to be ready to help whenever they got to where they were going. For now, the fluffy, tiger-dog he was riding was traveling at such a tremendous rate of speed, that the smoker could only close his eyes and hope he didn't lose his grip. Soon, they would surely regroup with the others and the pierced trainer could lend a hand. Until then, he might just lend his lunch to the cave floor...

"Surtur, return!"
With a beam of red light, the Charmeleon disappeared from the visible plane and returned to the confines of his pokeball. Rameses sighed with relief. He and Surtur had a close call against the steel type. Thinking about the possible need for another flying type in the future, Rameses took an empty pokeball from his belt loop and threw it at the fallen Skarmory. The ball collided with the fallen pokemon and encapsulated it. If there were no problems, he would soon have another to add to his team.
However, all would be short lived. There was something far more sinister afoot. In the confusion of the battle, the Houndour he had battled before had been taken.
"I have to go after her!"
The Houndoom had already taken off with blazing speed. He could also see that the Umbreon was beginning to pursue. It was likely that this was the enemy that the pack had not wanted to talk about. Lucario...

Rameses earned 5 points! species: skarmory type: steel/flying gender: female level: 20 attacks: feint, fury attack, agility, swift, sand attack, peck, leer abilities: keen eye, sturdy, weak armor nature: God save us from the queen. species: skarmory type: steel/flying gender: female level: 20 attacks: feint, fury attack, agility, swift, sand attack, peck, leer abilities: keen eye, sturdy, weak armor nature: She’s got a taste for what’s good in life: children, dragon flesh, the chocolate strawberries you were saving for a special occasion. No matter what the issue, if it tastes good, she’s gonna have a bite. Other than her desire to consume things she really has no business eating, she’s pretty easy to handle. Rae’s half of the pack made it to the caves first. The arcanine growled as soon as he entered, snarling furiously. He stood his ground, though. Why? The lucario stood on the opposite side of the cave, atop a ledge over the lava, holding the houndour over it. She had the flash fire ability, but the lava would still be incredibly painful and damaging if she were to be dropped over it. <G’day,> the lucario greeted as Big Mama caught up. <’Ere’s ya’ alpha? I wanna talk to ‘im.>The motherly instincts of the mightyena kicked in as the arcanine put the deino down. <PUT HER DOWN! I’ll kill you!><Aw, li’l sheila, that’s right cute. Knowin’ d*** bloody well I’mma fightin’ type ‘n’ yo’r a dark type. Right brave of ya’!> the lucario cheered, shaking the houndour over the magma again. At that time, the houndoom skidded into the room. He snarled up, rushing ot the edge of the magma flow and barking. <YOU B******!> He wished he had an absol in his pack. The umbreon and Rameses soon arrived after. <Well, that’s just f***in’ peachy, ain’t it? Ya let a d*** dirty human duo in, but cha won’t let me rule.> The lucario dropped the houndour behind him, skidding her into the wall on the ledge. She yelped. Her leg was broken. <D*** shame.> He looked down and brought up a black circle. It was a mega ring on a chain. And, the lucario had a mega stone. <So, I found somethin’ the other day, eh? Somethin’ reaaaal nice. It’sa mega stone. Ya’ know much about mega stones, li’l pups? Ya know much about lucarionite?” He held up the mega ring and the mega stone. <... ya still want this pack, ya old coot?> The lucario looked down. <Ya still. Want. This. F***in’. Pack?> The threat was clear. You’re all in mortal danger!

"F@#k me..." Rae breathed, looking from the crazy, humanoid-like creature on the ledge, to those of the Pack gathered around him. He spotted Rameses arriving and he slipped off the Arcanine's back. Landing on his feet, he headed over to the boy in the orange hat, hoping they could talk and figure out what the heck they were gunna' do in this situation. At the present moment, things definitely weren't looking good.
Rae knew that the Houndoom had priority here, since it was his daughter on the line. Ultimately, Rae would turn to him for an answer on what to do, though he wasn't sure how he was going to understand it, due to his lack of speaking their language. It was then that Rae remembered Rameses could understand and communicate with the Pokemon and he smiled slightly, feeling relieved. Good thing this boy was here and good thing he had payed attention in whatever class he had taken, that enabled him to talk to the beasts.
Perhaps sometime, when this was all over, Rae would ask the kid to give him a couple lessons on the lingo... For now, Rae needed to worry about what would become of the young poochy, as well as the rest of them.

So that was Lucario. The menace stood atop a cliff, high above them all. To make matters worse, he also held the Houndour hostage. Quiet rage began to fill Rameses as he stood by. He was not the type to just stand around and do nothing. Especially after the pack had begun to welcome him here. He was also not one for conversation or negotiation. The Lucario would end up paying. There was not another way around it. This time, the trainer did not look to his pokedex for the answer. He was moving on rage and instinct. Rameses raced towards the cliff and the Houndour, completely unaware of what the Lucario would do or the immensity of the pokemon's power.

The lucario laughed loudly and boisterously. <YER FRIEND’S A F***IN’ LUNATIC, MATES!> It was true. If Rameses wanted to run straight into the magma below the lucario’s perch, that was fine by the kidnapper. The scent of roasted flesh didn’t bother him any. The houndour, realizing one of the trainers was rushing towards the lava for her sake, whimpered even more. The arcanine, unburdened by Rae, rushed forward with an extreme speed to block Rameses’s path. <Are you stupid?!>The houndoom looked over, collecting himself. <EY, WHAT’S THE HOLD UP?! Let the bloke run! It’ll be grand!> There was a wicked gleam in the lucario’s eye. <He’ll burn to death! Bet he screams like a girl! Bet his f***ing balls haven’t even dropped! What a pup!> The lucario threw his head back, laughing. The mightyena shook her head. <... what do we do?>The umbreon grunted. <We need something to get over there.> He looked to the humans. <Either of you have a flying or a psychic type? Even a ground type might be useful.>

Watching in wonder, Rae spotted the boy making a mad dash for the lava. Apparently, he was full of passion and wanted to save the young poochy, by any and all means. Even if it meant plunging into the lava to get to her, it seemed this kid was prepared to sacrifice himself and try. Rae couldn't relate, since he certainly wasn't craving a swim in the magma. He was glad when the arcanine intervened and the smoker's eyes looked quickly toward the members of the Pack.
He sighed, thinking none of them would probably be capable of reaching the weird, two-legged creature on the cliff. His eyes scanned the area, looking for some way to get up there. Unfortunately, it was just this giant patch of lava, standing between them. Rae didn't know what the beasts were discussing, but he knew they had to find some way to cross over the lava and get up onto that cliff. From here, they were just helpless to save the poochy and that laughing creature was going to end up hurting the pup if they didn't act fast!
Taking a page from Rameses' book of action, Rae quickly eyed his right hip and plucked a single pokeball from his belt. He spiked the ball at the dirt and out popped his evolved Abra, fiddling with its spoon. Rae was glad it hadn't been in the middle of anything crude and he looked to the yellow Pokemon with a great determination in his eyes. On several occasions, the creature had shown its magnificent ability, to teleport. While it had been useful, it would be crucial at this point, in order to get them up to the cliff.
Rae wasn't sure how it all worked, but he was sure as s@#t gunna' give it a shot.
"C'mon everyone! Gather 'round here and grab ahold of one another, we're going up there after it!" Rae announced, before planting his palm on the Kadabra's shoulder. He then extended his free hand to whomever would touch it and begin the chain link. If everyone was connected, Rae believed his pokemon could teleport the entire party up there and they could rescue the pooch. It was a long shot, but he thought it had a good chance to work! Hopefully the Kadabra was feeling accurate today and wouldn't teleport their whole pack straight into the lava pit...

Luckily for him, the Arcanine stopped the very real possibility of him plummeting to his death. Gaining clarity, the trainer thanked the fire type and returned to the group. Still, Lucario had to be stopped and they had to figure out how. Rameses was grateful that Rae had begun to formulate some sort of plan. He soon joined the circle around the Kadabra. From what Rameses had seen of the pokemon, the teleportation was wildly random. The group could end up where they needed to be, outside of the cave, or all dying in the rising magma.

Seeing what Rae was up to, the pack joined Rameses as he walked up to the trainer and his psychic type. Big Mama recalled the kadabra; it had transported Rae magically before, hadn’t it? Back when Falcor was just an egg… Everyone touched each other, nipping gently onto clothing, fur, and tail. They were depending upon Abra the kadabra to teleport them safely. The lucario hadn’t missed any of this. <F***in’ nimrods.> He closed his eyes, activating the mega stone in the time it would take them to teleport. <I’ll show ‘em. Coulda had a bloody good offer, yeah? Now…> He chuckled, looking to the houndour pup as the light consumed him. After a moment and a rush of wind, he felt more powerful. If the party appeared anywhere in the pack’s den-cave, the lucario would whirl in their direction quick as a whip. <Didgeridoo, and f*** you, too!> He was hilarious in his own mind. A truly brilliant comedian. His laughter transformed into a dragon rage, ripping from his maw most shamelessly. The aim was wild, though, due to his own distraction. Still… it wouldn’t be good to get hit by the move. attacks: extreme speed, dragon pulse, aura sphere, metal claw, feint, power-up punch, bone rush, detect abilities: steadfast, inner focus, justified hit by: -- used: dragon pulse health: high green
