She probably had about zero business claiming all the credit for this, but if anyone asked, she was going to. (Poor Nate.) With various snacks laid out, a signup sheet on the coffee table, and the TV set up to play fun mingle music, Dawn figured this was gonna be pretty fun for a meet and greet. To be honest, she had done a little work herself earlier that day. The living room was just big enough for a sock race and--freshly swept, mopped, and polished as well as she could without wax--Dawn was eager to try it out. In fact, sitting upside down while watching the music video to the current song selection, she didn’t even bother fighting the grin on her face. She knew her roommates had gotten her invitation (December received Dawn whining about being social while Ayame got a cold, passive “I dunno, show up if you want, I guess”), whereas the boys received a card with the time that simply said “meet to team game plan for battles and VICTORY!” (yes, she really capitalized victory). With her legs over the back of the couch where her head should be, she kicking out in time to the music, feeling rather cozy in her graphic pullover and shorts combo. Her socks were glaringly out of place, though. She’d chosen her fluffiest, thickest pair in order to fully appreciate the glory of the clean wooden floor. ooc: Dawn’s song choice. Feel free to have your characters change it~~

Before leaving his dorm, Nate yelled at Paul across the room that he better show up at the party soon or he would be back to drag him out. No doubt Dawn would be willing to help him out with that. Nate wished he had a different roommate, but at least they did not see each other too often. he was only insistent that he come to this party because the whole team needed to be there to plan their strategy. Nate wanted to work hard to put his team on top, and if others needed his help to get there, he was willing to give that to them. They would win as a team.
Watcher trotted by his side as they made their way into the living room. The Eevee was looking forward to the party as well. He wondered if he would get to meet nay more Pokemon. At the very least, they would be setting up a plan for battling in the future. That was going to be fun! He had already battled one of their teammates, and he was sure the others would be just as cool.
Nate stopped when he reached the living room and took a moment to look around. He was glad Dawn had agreed to organize the whole thing. He was good at coming up with ideas but not setting up and inviting everyone. He smirked slightly when he saw her sitting upside down watching something. She was an interesting. "Everything looks great," he said as he and Watcher strolled over to her. He wondered when the others would show up.

Seeing Nate enter the room, Dawn filled over and off the couch. When she landed, the music video finished and changed. Standing up straight, her hair flipped over her shoulder and she grinned. ”Thanks!” She put her hands on her hips. Yeah, it did look great. Pity would sure be a pity if she had to force everyone else to come in here and enjoy it. Sliding in place in her socks, Dawn grinned down at Watcher. ”... oh yeah, the schedule!” she tutted. Sliding over to the coffee table but managing to stop before she bumped her shins, Dawn picked up the pen and note pad. Sliding back over to Nate, she held it out for him. ”Just sign up with times you’re available and what pokemon you’re looking to train, plus what type of battle you’d prefer.” Dawn’s name was already on there and she decided to just put down her cell phone number, as she tended to not have an easy to track location, what with how busy she was these days. Her vulpix and skitty were her primary concerns, though she did say she’d be okay with training any of her pokemon. And, as for her battle preference, she just put it down as “prefers single battles, will do any except rotation”. Thinking about their roommates, Dawn huffed. ”Paul might not be the only one getting dragged out here by his hair.” Except December. December would never get dragged anywhere by anything if Dawn had any say. Except maybe accidentally into cave walls.

Paul stared at Nate as he left their room, having finished with yelling to him to come to the party if he did not want him to drag him there himself. He was sitting on his bed reading a book and had not moved when his roommate got ready to leave for the team Sinnoh party someone was holding in the living room. When he had first heard there was going to a party, he absolutely had no intention of going. What would be the point? He had no need or desire to take part in pointless socialization. If he wanted to socialize or meet his teammates, he would do so without the necessity of a party where it practically forced you to do so.
However, later he had received a card, and Nate had also informed him about it, that said the purpose of the party was to get the whole team together to strategize and come up with a plan to achieve team victory. That meant battling and doing things that earned their team points, which he had discovered all worked towards getting stronger themselves. He was not so sure about the whole "team" thing, he would rather work alone than with these people, but if it benefited him by helping him to grow stronger, then he would do it. That meant he had to show up to the party. He also did not want to be forced to go by Nate, so he would go willingly.
He waited a few minutes before leaving, though. He wanted to finish the chapter he was on. When he finished with it, he bookmarked his page and placed it on his bed. He stood up and headed out the door. Entering the living room, he glanced around without real interest. It appeared the only ones there so far were Nate and some girl he did not know or remember meeting. He stood to the side, a comfortable distance from them. Nate held something in his hands, which appeared to be some sort of sign up sheet. Seeing as there were so few of them there, he did not doubt he would be approached, even though he would prefer to just watch for at least right now. Besides, not everyone had arrived yet. Why talk about the point of the party now?

Nate took the note bad and pen from Dawn. "Thank you," he said. This was going to be very useful. If the team members battled each other often enough, regardless of who won, they would earn many points. Plus, if they saw each other in battle, they could offer pointers and helpful hints. He thought for a minute before writing down his answers. He scratched down the times he was usually available, which was often any time he did not have class. Then he wrote that he would battle with any of his Pokemon, but he wanted to pay special attention to his baby Swinub. Lastly, he wrote that he preferred one-on-one or three-on-three battles.
When he looked up, he noticed that Paul had entered. He was just standing there, and he doubted he would go over to talk to them. He bet he was a party pooper. At least he had come, though. With a little luck, maybe they could get him to participate in some activities. For now, he would leave him alone. He handed the pas back to Dawn, giving her a small smile. He hoped the other girls would show up soon. Then they could really get started!
Watcher had noticed Paul enter as well. He knew he was not the most friendly person around, and that saddened him. He was not used to people not liking him. Maybe he just needed to be around him some more. He looked kind of lonely standing beside himself, so the Eevee decided he would try to make him feel more comfortable. <Hi,> he said as he bounded over to him. He stopped in front of him and looked up at him. <How are you doing?> He knew he could not understand him completely, but he would get the point, right?

Ayame walked down the hallway leading to the Sinnoh Dormitories holding a plastic shopping bag of goodies she bought for the 'get-together'. She was running a bit late, but that didn't bother her. Ayame puffed her cheeks, she didn't get much of an invitation from Dawn. Before, she was debating if she even would come.
He hoped that there would be at least five people there; after all, it was the beginning of the year and Ayame wanted to make some friends other than December. [sort of...?] Judging by how quiet it was, she assumed that only a few people had arrived by then.
Ayame had gingerly leaned on the wall, trying to listen through the insulation. She heard Dawn, to her disappointment, but what would be of a host if they didn't show up at their party. Then, she also heard one... no, two voices. One being particularly quiet. Earlier that day, Ayame had chosen a snazzy, yet simple and modern look, matching her usual style. She chose to wear a loose and light, daffodil colored button-up tee with a plain white headband and a opal pendant. She also sported a pair of skinny jeans and a leather, braided belt. She wore her hair in a simple ponytail to the side, held up by a yellow ribbon. She also wore small red lily earrings and brown leather knee-high boots which she folded down to her ankles.
In her bag, she had a couple liters of coke and sprite and a bag of spicy cheetos. She also bought a bag of truffles and barbecue chips.
She walked through the door and chirped a, "Hello y'all!"

Taking the notepad back, Dawn grinned. Oh, cool, Nate had a swinub! Her friend Leona’s family raised swinubs and the like. She’d definitely have to ask to battle him, just for old time’s sake on her end. She was about to bring up the subject of the swinub when she noticed Paul.
Hm. That familiar, almost instinctive feeling of disdain entered the pit of her stomach upon seeing him. She didn’t even remember the guy’s name, but he settled all wrong with her. Maybe it was because she was such a social creature and he utterly rejected any interaction within the moment he stepped foot in the room. She narrowed her eyes at the purple haired guy before looking to Nate. ”Your roommate’s a kill joy.” She didn’t even bother to lower her voice.
When Ayame entered the living room, Dawn scanned the other girl. ”... nice outfit. The belt’s cute and that pastel yellow really brings out your hair,” she blurted, unable to resist the draw of the other girl’s well chosen clothing even if this was her arch-enemy. Oh. Oh no! What if they bonded? Hm, well, if it was over clothes, Dawn could stand that. No, she had sworn she’d show the other girl who was boss in the situation. ”Ayame.” she threw in after, trying her hardest not to still sound taken back and impressed like she had when she’d given out the compliments.
Thoroughly frustrated with her own giving into the enemy, Dawn returned her attention to Nate. ”Nate, that’s Ayame, one of my roommates. Ayame! Come meet Nate. … once you’re done setting down your stuff, I mean.” Oh, wow. Was Dawn trying to be nicer to her arch-enemy?

Paul looked down at the Eevee that had approached him. He remembered battling him. He didn't know what he wanted now. Did he think he had Pokemon food on him? He appeared to just want to say "hi." But why? "What do you want?" he asked, frowning. He glanced over when he heard the sound of someone entering the room. He believed there were five of them on the team, so there was only one more member to go. Then they could start. Then he could get this over with. Dawn's words carried over to his ears, but he paid them no mind. Instead, he looked back down at the Eevee, wondering why it wouldn't leave him alone. This was Nate's Pokemon, right?

Nate glanced at Paul at Nate's words. "Yeah, kind of," he said in a lower voice than he hers. "He needs a girlfriend." Maybe then he would loosen up a bit and get in touch with his emotions. He turned when someone else entered the room and greeted them. He did not recognize the girl. He smiled at her when Dawn introduced them. "Hello." Was it just him, or was there something odd between the two girls? It was not like him and Paul, but he could feel something. Perhaps he was just imagining things. This was a party for team bonding. They all had to get along and work together if they wanted to win.
Watcher swished his tail back and forth as he looked up at Paul. Why didn't he understand his intentions? Didn't others try to talk to him? Hmm... He was going to have to do something more obvious. He nudged Paul's leg with his head. <Go talk to someone.> He had to go out and make friends sometime, right? Friends were the best! He rubbed against his leg like a cat to show that he was friendly.

This Pokemon was strange. Paul looked over to where he was trying to nudge him to. Did it want him to go talk to those people? He remembered Thorn pulling Kiki over to him that day in the cafeteria to meet him. Those two would get along great. He blinked when he felt the Eevee rubbing against him. It made him feel uncomfortable. He crossed his arms and looked down at the Pokemon. Why wasn't Nate watching him? "Get off," he muttered. "If I give you someone else to bother, will you leave me alone?" He really did not want to release Thorn, especially after what he had done, but he would if he had no other choice. Maybe if he let him play with Watcher, that would satisfy his tendency to run off with Alice. He doubted it, though.

Wait, WHAT JUST HAPPENED. Ayame stared into Dawn's very soul for a second. She sighed, maybe it was just to leave a good impression. She scratched her head and let out a fake laugh, "Haha, thanks Dawn."
Ayame smiled at the boy walking up to her, "Hey, nice to meet you!" she soon reverted her gaze and strolled over the coffee table and neatly set out the bags of treats and the pop. She decided it was time to introduce her teammates to her pokemon.
Quite randomly, she blurted out. "C'mon out everyone!" she tossed each of her five (except Silcoon >.<) pokeballs into the air, each cracking open and revealing one of her pokemon.
They called out, as if cued.
"Bui!" her otter pal, Bruiser the Buizel, called out with a wave. <Hi!> "Muuurow!" the sassy kitty, Glamour the Glameow, gracefully landed on the ground. <Good day!> Her British Accent boomed out. "Bud-budew!" next, her friendly rose bud pokemon appeared and clapped her buds. <So many people!> And last, her new pokemon, Cinder the Chimchar. "Chim, chimchar!" <Hello!>
Quite satisfied, she sent out her pokemon to do her bidding.

Dawn raised a brow. Girlfriends made boys into bitter jerks; they very rarely fixed them. ”Sounds more like he needs a friend,” she tutted. Speaking of friends, it seemed that Ayame and Nate were getting along nicely. She smiled and watched, until Ayame let out her team.
Oh.
Oh, no. That was a feline pokemon, wasn’t it? Dawn looked towards her room, terror clear on her face.
In a flash, the pink kitten bolted out the door. She was a blurr as she ran at the glameow, most likely sliding into thing. <Hey! We’re both cats! That means we’re rivals! You have to battle me!>
Oh, Mew, Psyche, no, Dawn thought as she brought up her hands to hide her face. She loved her starter to death, but the skitty was just so… energetic. Not feeling up to dealing with her own normal type, Dawn gave an apologetic shrug of her shoulders to Ayame before giving Nate a look that clearly said “beware-the-kitten”. With that, she retired to the couch, watching as the next music video came up. ”Ayame, sign up when you’ve got a second, okay?” Dawn suggested, waving the notepad.
Psyche forgot about Glamour post haste when she spotted Watcher. She bound over to the eevee and thus Paul. <Hey, hey, I remember you! And you, Mr. Plum Head!>
... well, she’s not wrong, Dawn thought from where she vegged out, kind of hoping Paul wasn’t that familiar with poke-lingo.

OOC: Alright. I'll try to turn the thread in the right direction with my post. We still just need December, right? IC: Nate smiled and nodded at Ayame. This seemed to be going well so far. Just one more student needed to arrive and they could officially get started. He was not too anxious about that, though. December could come whenever she wanted. He was too laid-back to really care. Plus, this was supposed to be fun. Unfortunately, Paul did not seem to be having much fun, despite Watcher's attempts to get him to engage in the party. Maybe Nate could keep him around a little longer by giving the sign up sheet to Ayame first.
He watched as the girl released all her Pokemon. "Hey, guys," he said, smiling down at them. They all looked healthy and happy. He wondered if he should bring out more of his own Pokemon. Maybe later. He did not want the room too crowded at the beginning of the party. He walked over to Ayame with the clipboard and held it out to her. "Can you sign up please? The information will be given to everyone." That would make it easier for them to coordinate battles. They could talk specifics later during the party.
Watcher sat down and frowned when Paul told him to get off him. Bother? He was not trying to bother him. He was just trying to make friends. <Can't you lighten up?> he said, swishing his tail. <This is a party, after all.> Though, the Eevee would not object if Paul decided to let out one of his Pokemon. Just because the trainer was a party-pooper didn't mean his Pokemon had to suffer the same fate.

December hadn't been told of any party so she had been at the liberty studying. She had been engrossed in her Pokemon Basics book for the past three and a half hours. Her note book was full of doodles and notes, filled to the brim in fact with them all. After a while though she packed up and left. Returning to her dorm she was rather hungry, but as she made her way to the kitchen she noticed everyone gathered in the living room "oh hi everyone. Are we having a team meeting or something?" She asked timidly as she stood there with her book bag.
