Storm Chasers [Open/Mod]

Gary Oak had heard the sirens indicating that there was a tornado nearby. However, he did not feel that someone who could harness the power of great creatures like Pokemon had to fear a petty storm. As a water type, Skipper felt the same way. The two of them marched to the park together to see if they could get a view of the tornado. The trainer wondered what would happen if the Squirtle attacked the tornado head-on. He was not a complete idiot, however, so he first set out digging a ditch so that he could hide and be safe from the tornado in case it came his way. He was sure he was going to be just fine. He had thought of everything.
Now he could fulfill his secret lifelong dream of being a storm chaser. He had witnessed several storms back home in Pallet Town in the Kanto region, and he had always found them fascinating. A tornado had never hit the town, and that was a spectacle he had always wanted to witness. This was his big chance. He had a camera slung around his neck so that he could document the epic event. Boy, were the other kids going to be jealous when he showed up to school with pictures of a real live tornado. He was going to be the coolest! He stood in the middle of the park several feet away from the ditch, a confident look on his face. Skipper stood beside him, appearing hyped up as well. They could not wait for the adventure to begin! OOC: If no students want to join and a mod does not feel like making Pokemon appear, I would appreciate it if a mod could play the part of the tornado.

Safely out of the forest and it's trees that could soon fall, a little Goomy slid his way to the park. It was not that he was afraid of trees falling on him, for he was simply made out of goo and therefore would not get hurt. It was that the forest Pokemon were making fun of him for being the weakest Dragon Pokemon. Shortly after that, sirens had sounded, sending all of the Pokemon scattering for cover. He had tried to take shelter with some of them, but they just repeated their hurtful remarks. The Goomy tried not to let those words get to him, but it was hard. He felt sad as he entered the park.
However, he could not help but sigh in pleasure as the rain freely fell on him now that there were no trees covering him. He adored the rain because it kept his gooey flesh hydrated. Without any moisture, he would die. The sight of a trainer and a Squirtle further distracted him from his hurt. Their backs were towards him. That gave him an idea... He slid his way over to them and proceeded to climb up the trainer's back once he reached him. He left a trail of slime as he went, aiming for his head. Species: Goomy Gender: male Level: 11

Suddenly, Gary felt something on his leg. He immediately froze. It felt slimy. "Skipper," he said slowly as he felt movement up his back, "what is on me?" It could not be a Pokemon, could it? His clothes felt all sticky now, and the thing was climbing onto his head. It had to be a living creature. The trainer lifted his hands to his head and felt something slimy. "Um, hello?" he said to the creature. He wondered what type of Pokemon would be out in this weather. It did not seem threatening.
Skipper turned when he heard his trainer speak. Something was on him? He walked around Gary to see what the problem was. He gasped when he saw some sort of Pokemon climbing up him. What was it? Not knowing if it meant harm, he decided to take preemptive action. He shot out a stream of water at the Goomy in an attempt to get him to fall off.

Climbing up to the trainer's head he felt better now. He felt like king of the world - er head. Oh, but he did wonder why it felt the the trainer was frozen as if he had taken an ice attack of some kind. Feeling hands on him, Goomy giggled. Leaning forward he moved to look at the boy from upside down on his head. <Hehehe, that ticke-HEY! STOP!> Goomy said tot he trainer, but mid statement switched to talking to the turtle. It didn't hurt really, and thanks to being so sticky Goomy was just pushed back a bit, but managed to cling. <What is your problem man? I just wanna say hi.> He told the other pokemon as he gave a frown. Know feeling as if these two don't want him there either, Goomy hoped it was just a misunderstanding. <None of the other pokemon want to hang out with me.> He said to the turtle pokemon pausing for a moment to let out a sad sigh, but then pushed it back and spoke again. <So I just came over to see what you two are up to, say shouldn't we be finding shelter or at least running?> The pokemon moved his head slightly pointing towards the big twisting winds a ways away, but still coming towards them. Skipper's expression softened when the Goomy began to talk to him. The Pokemon did not seem to be much of a threat at all. He was just lonely. <Sorry,> he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. He decided to try to pass on the news to his trainer. He walked back around so he was facing Gary. <He's friendly.> He smiled and gave him a thumbs-up. <He's worried about that, though.> He also pointed at the storm up ahead. he glanced at the Goomy, wondering where he came from and why he was out here in weather like this.
Gary figured out what type of Pokemon was on its head when he started to talk. It sounded like a Goomy to him. He relaxed slightly when it did not appear threatening. Then his Squirtle came over and confirmed this for him. He nodded. "Thanks, pal." Was he just lonely, then? He had seemed kind of sad. "Hello," he said to the Pokemon on top of his head. He followed Skipper's finger to the storm. Was the wild Pokemon asking about that? "We're going to watch the tornado. I dug a ditch so we'll be safe." He pointed to the hole in the ground. "You can stick around if you're brave enough." The Goomy must be bold if he was not safe at home.

Looking towards the hold in the earth Goomy was a little nervous. <You made that? You got some awesome digging skills man.> The pokemon replied. Shifting he slowly began to climb off the trainer to stand in front of them both. <Do you really think a hole will stop you from being blown away?> The dragon type then asked in a curious, but worried voice. Looking at the ditch, then the tornado, and finally the water pokemon. However, as the trainer said he could join them if he was brave enough Goomy shot a look at the human and puffed himself up. <Brave is my middle name man!> He laid, but they didn't need to know that. <Goomy Brave Dragon.> Liar liar pants on fire. Well good thing he wasn't wearing any pants. He was doing his best though to look brave, but honestly and truthfully as the tornado was now making a bee line for them, Goomy was scared out of his mind. Which was part of the reason he shifted closer to the trainer and his pokemon. Species: Goomy Gender: male Level: 11

Skipper looked over at the Goomy as he crawled down. <Great.> He looked at the twisting form in the distance in wonder. The water type was not scared of anything. Storms were a part of his nature! He wondered what would happen when it got closer. Could he attack it with his Water Gun? Maybe it would be safer to go with his trainer's plan.
Gary glanced down at the dragon type. He seemed a bit nervous to him, but he was not running away, which was good. He liked seeing brave Pokemon who were not afraid to face challenges. If they all got through this together, perhaps he would capture him. For now, though, he was focused on the tornado. When it was close enough, he brought his camera up to his eyes and began to take pictures. Some people would have thought he was reckless and crazy for getting this close, but he found it thrilling. Plus, he was not an idiot. He knew when it would be time to leave. Soon, that time approached. "I think it's time to duck." The Squirtle nodded and followed him over to the hole, motioning for the Goomy to do the same. It would not be a comfortable fit, but there would be enough room for all three of them to fit and leave nothing exposed above ground.

(OOC: Hi hi. Angie asked if I could take over this thread so I will be modding it if that's alright) Goomy gulped as he looked back and forth from the tornado, to the trainer, to the hole, the squirtle and lastly the camera. Was this guy insane? He had come out here to grab some up close and personal pictures of a tornado. It was at this point the Goomy considered it was time to up and leave but he wouldn't be able to get away from the tornado, that and he said he was a very brave pokemon, even though it was a lie. Goomy quickly began to move after the trainer as he said it was time to duck. He slid into the whole attempting to use as little space as possible by sticking to the walls of the hole and tucking himself in as tight as possible. He had his doubts that the hole would work, but if it did he would be praying to Arceus thanking the God of Pokemon for saving his life form this natural disaster. Gary moved around so that his back was to the bottom of the hole and struggled to get his arms securely around the two Pokemon. His breath hitched in his throat as he heard the sounds of the storm coming closer. Then it was almost upon them. He shut his eyes to protect himself against the debris and dirt that would be thrown at him. He felt a rush of adrenaline and excitement as the wind whipped at him. He could survive anything! Skipper had curled into his shell for extra protection. There was now ay a Squirtle was going to be harmed by a silly old storm. He hoped the Goomy was alright. Soon, the sounds died down, and the wind slowed to an amiable pace. Skipper poked his head out of his shell and looked up at the sky. It still looked dark and threatening, but there were no signs of the tornado. He crawled out of the hole to investigate. Yep, the storm had passed! <It's alright!> he said, grinning down into the hole.
A wide grin spread across the trainer's face at the message. They had done it! They had survived a tornado! "Yes!" he exclaimed. He gently pushed the Goomy out of the hole and climbed out after him. "That was awesome! Wait until the other students get a load of my photos!" he could still see the spiraling form of the tornado in the distance, but it was no threat to them now.

Goomy slid himself out of the hole and turned to look at the destruction around them, fallen trees, torn up earth and debris all around them. He sighed in relief that they had survived the passing storm. he turned to look at the Squirtle named Skipper and his trainer, they seemed close, he wished he had a trainer like that. A light bulb went off inside his brain as an idea came to mind. He pulled himself across the ground until he was in front of the two creating a bit of distance between them. He looked at them with a hard stare and gulped, <I really like you two. So I challenge you to a pokemon battle! If you win I shall join your team!> spoke the Goomy as he declared his challenge of battle. Gary turned to the Goomy when he spoke. He could not understand what he was saying, but his actions spoke louder than words. "You want to battle? Alright." The wild Pokemon seemed brave, and a dragon type would be a good edition to his team. He was interested in seeing how strong he was as well. He took a battle stance with his Squirtle in front of him. "Skipper, let's start off with Tackle!" Water type moves did not do much damage against dragon types, so he thought he would begin with a normal type move. It was also a good chance to test the Goomy's speed and reaction time.
Skipper smiled at the Goomy. He liked him and found him quite brave to stay with them during the tornado. He thought they could become good friends. <Ok,> he said with a nod of his head. It sounded fair enough to him. At his trainer's command, he ran forward in order to Tackle the squishy Pokemon. This was going to be fun!

Goomy gave a large grin as the Squirtle skipper under the commands of his trainer ran forth towards him aiming to hit him with his tackle attack. Goomy's eyes glowed red as he moved the feelers on his head. He brought them forth as a clear hexagonal panel appeared in the air. The panel began to replicate rapidly creating a wall in front of the Goomy, he was using his protect to block the incoming attack, <You'll have to do better than that my friend!>[/color] called the Goomy as a wide smile formed on his squishy features. Gary had to admit, he was quite impressed with the Goomy's quick thinking. Reflect was a good attack to know. Now really really wanted to catch him. "Nice. Alright, Skipper, let's try Tail Whip and Muddy Water." Although Muddy Water was a water attack, it was still the Squirtle's most powerful attack, and it was good to change things up a bit.
Skipper was thrown back by the force of the Protect. He looked at the Goomy in surprise as he stood up again. <That was a good one.> The Goomy would be an excellent opponent indeed. He was excited to test his skills against the dragon type. He turned around and wagged his tail at him. Then he spun back around and ran forward. At the last second, he stopped and swiped his paws at the ground to send muddy water flying.

Goomy grinned triumphantly as the squirtle was sent flying back from his protect. Though now with the use of tail whip it meant his foes attacks would deal more damage then before and he had nothing to counter it with. When the squirtle swiped his paw at the ground sending a wave of muddy water towards him he panicked slightly, he could throw up his protect again but it might fail to block the attack. The attack landed sending him sliding backwards but he quickly stuck to the ground with his gooey body. He shook his head before focusing in on the Squirtle, <Try this!> he called as a small green sphere formed at the tip of his head before a beam of green energy surged forth to hit the squirtle and drain the water type of his health to restore his. Gary wondered if he should try Tackle again, but then he remembered one of Goomy's special abilities. If the Squirtle made direct contact, his speed would be reduced. It was best to save that for later. He ignored the Absorb because there was nothing he could do about it. "Skipper, Tail Whip and Bubble!" He would see how effective this attack was and go from there.
Skipper grinned at his success. Suddenly, he felt energy being drained from him and given to the Goomy. <That's a cool trick,> he said. He wished he could do something like that. He obediently used Tail Whip again before spinning around and blowing bubbles at his opponent. He loved bubbles!
