Name: Paul Gruff
Gender: male
Age: 17
Appearance:
Home Region: Sinnoh
Team Wanted: Sinnoh
Personality:
Paul is the kind of person who lets his emotions take hold of him. He strives to get stronger one way or another. He doesn't really believe in training weak Pokemon; he likes to find and work with strong Pokemon, so he can become one of the strongest Pokemon trainers ever. When someone tries to correct him of this, he doesn't listen to them because events from his past blind him.
A lot of people love to hang out with others, run around, play in the sun, enjoy life, but you will never see Paul doing any of that. He prefers keeping to himself, training his Pokemon. Many people often wonder what his problem is, but he won't ever listen. His past keeps him fighting for his goal. As he hunts for his goal, he finds himself lonely, though he claims he doesn't care, and deep down wonders why he battles in the first place.
History:
Paul grew up with his brother, Reggie. Reggie is the complete opposite of Paul, but it wasn't an extreme case during their childhood. Reggie loved to play with Pokemon and so did Paul, but he didn't always like hanging around others because he often got into arguments; he had a quick temper. Part of the reason Paul's emotions don't stay in him comes from his father abandoning him and his brother soon after their mother died, though a more haunting past is at fault.
When Paul was about 10-years-old, he watched Reggie take on the Battle Pyramid where he fought all of the extremely powerful leaders. He had gotten six of the symbols, but his down fall was Brandon, the Pyramid King. He had fought long and hard, but Paul watched as all of his brother's Pokemon were defeated without them ever defeating one of Brandon's. "Where is your inner strength?" Paul still remembers Brandon's words. They are what motivate him to make him and his Pokemon powerful and strong.
