OOC: This thread is for Kiki and December's battle. In roleplay time this will occur after Angelica and Ayame's battle. Kiki will post first.
IC: There had been another break after Angelica and Ayame's battle. When the break was over, Principal Sash stepped onto the stage. "Now for our second battle. Please welcome Kiki and December!" She smiled and stepped off to the side. She wondered which Pokemon these two would use. Would they be the same ones from the appeals round? |

Kiki could not believe she had advanced to the first round. She was proud of the way her Chikorita had performed. Alice had worked hard to come this far, and it looked like it had paid off. The trainer decided to give her a rest and go with a different Pokemon. She had practice contest battling with a couple of other Pokemon, so she would go with one of them. She did not recognize her opponent, and she did not know what kind of Pokemon she would have aside from her Sandshrew. Thankfully, though, type would not be much of a factor with the Pokemon she was going to use.
She smiled as she walked onto the stage, headed for one end of the battlefield. She nodded at her opponent when she appeared. "Good luck," she said. Whatever happened now, the contest had been a fun experience, and the battle would prove very helpful. Maybe she would enter the next contest after this. "It's time to play, Cody." She tossed a Pokeball in the air to release her chosen companion.
A Lillipup appeared in front of her. <Play?> he said, turning his head to look at his trainer excitedly. Then he saw the crowd. Oh, this was the contest Kiki had told him about, and it looked like he was going to battle. Fun! He wagged his tail happily as he watched December, wondering who she was going to choose to face off against him.

There where butterfree's in her stomach yet again, this time it was for a completely different filling. Standing with the others she and Sandy watched the screen as the next round came on the TV screen. As each face showed up December and her little Sandshrew's faces lit up, they had made it to the next round. A bit deal for the shy maroon haired girl who wanted to run away and hide this morning. With the appeals over Ember began to relax, she enjoyed battling, not so much could he said for people watching and judging her like they did first round.
Now as the first two people of the second round finished she started to hyperventilate, her breathing became heavy, and the girl looked like she was gonna pass out. Luckily for her her family was there to calm her down, and after a pep talk which involved water being splashed lightly on her face to snap her out of it Miss Smoon was ready. As she walked out onto the stage she did look a little pale, but she was a pale skinned girl anyways. Oh man Dawn-chan I wish you where here. She thought as she looked out at the crowd. Dawn had been the only reason she signed up in the first place.
"Good look to you too." December said while nodding back tot he girl as she watched her bring out her pokemon. The pokemon was cute, but the girl already knew what pokemon she was going to use. Mostly because Freeze was too young, and she had only practiced with one pokemon. Still she knew Sandy didn't mind. "Alright Sandy time to shine like the stars above." She said while releasing her Sandshrew who came up and rolled in the air before landing on the ground. <Good luck little friend.> The yellow pokemon said with a cheerful smile on her face to the normal pokemon. The two then waited for the battle to begin.

Sash nodded to herself in approval when both students appeared. So, it was going to be Lillipup against Sandshrew. This was sure to be interesting. After the applause died down, she spoke into the microphone, "We are ready to begin. Good luck to both of you. Kiki may have the first move." Out of simplicity, the trainer listed first was the one who got the first move, not that it mattered that much. The principal stepped back to watch the exciting match. |

"Thanks," Kiki said to her opponent. She thought she heard that her name was December. She would have to make the point to properly introduce herself to her later, no matter who won. She could always use more friends. She smiled slightly at Sandy. The Sandshrew had done well in the appeals round. She was going to be a tough opponent to beat. Kiki got into battle mode once Principal Sash announced that she had the first move. Cody did not have many flashy moves that could be shown off, so she was mostly counting on his playfulness and cuteness to earn them points. Luckily, those traits came naturally to him. "Ok, Cody, let's start off with Baby-Doll Eyes and Tackle!"
<Thank you!> Cody said happily to Sandy, wagging his tail. <You too.> She seemed really nice, and he hoped they could be friends later. Right now, it was time to battle. He had practiced with his trainer a lot, and he knew just what she was expecting. It would be easy because she just wanted him to be himself! At her command, he sat down and made his eyes as big and cute as possible to lower the Sandshrew's attack stats and also, hopefully, to impress the judges. Then he hopped to his feet. He ran towards the other Pokemon, bouncing playfully across the stage to hit her with a Tackle. This was going to be fun!
