It was her first day at this school, and already Serah was starting to get chills down her spine. What they were from, she didn't know. Nerves were what she thought most likely to be the culprit. But, she would eventually get over her nerves. And after a little while of just standing in front of the door to the Principal's office, she was finally able to gather the courage to knock on the door. She waited a few moments before cracking the door to enter the room. Hopefully someone would be inside.
Serah took a couple deep breaths before saying anything. "Um, hello? I heard that this was where I should go to get my first pokemon?" She asked of the room, which on first look appeared empty. Though, she knew she was probably just overlooking something and she knew it. So, the young girl just stood in the entrance to the office. She began rocking back and forth on the heels of her feet while she waited. She also wondered just what her first pokemon might be.

Principal Sash and her Vulpix Maya were lying on their backs behind the desk. One would think they were looking up at the sky, but they were indoors. In reality, they were just having a good time relaxing and bonding. Sash would talk to her Pokemon, and, though she could not understand her tongue, the Vulpix would respond. They had known each other for so long that they were able to spend time together like this. It always made the principal feel calm and happy.
A knock on the door interrupted them. Sash sat up as she heard someone speak. Ah, a new student. Excellent. "I'll be back," she said to the Vulpix. Maya rolled over on her paws but stayed where she was. Sash stood up so that she could be seen by the student. She gave her a bright smile and said, "Hello! Sorry about that. I'm Principal Sash. Yes, you can get your first Pokemon here." She grabbed a sheet of paper from her desk and walked over to the girl. "Fill this out and I'll get you started." She held the sheet out to her.

Serah gave Principal Sash a smile. "Oh, that's fine. I hope I didn't come at a bad time." She said, lightly gripping the paper. She looked at the paper for a moment, looking at the questions and answers. It seemed like a straight-forward test. Well, at least, straight-forward enough. Thirty-five questions, with five different possibly answers. Though, only one truthful answer to each one. She found a seat nearby and sat down to fill out the test.

It took Serah a little while, but she finally finished the personality test. After checking to make sure that she had answered every question, she stood back up and held the paper out to Principle Sash. "I think I'm finished, Principle Sash." She said, once again smiling. She was just super excited to see her pokemon that she could hardly contain herself. Though, she did her best and only let out a little giggle.

"No, you're alright," Principal Sash said. She waited patiently for the student to finish. When she handed her the test back, she took it and looked it over. "Ok. Just a moment." Now was the fun part. There were many options, but she was able to narrow it down to too. She set the test on the desk before heading to the back of the room. Maya watched her curiously as she came back with three Pokeballs. "You may choose any of these three Pokemon." She released each of them one at a time.

Serah almost felt as if she were going to burst when Principal Sash went to the back of the room. Then, she heard the words she had been waiting to hear for quite a long time. It was finally time for her to pick her very first pokemon! The first pokemon was a Totodile, one of the normal starter pokemon back in Johto. She seriously considered it as her choice before moving on to take a good look at the Aipom. She had always thought Aipom were interesting. Last but not least was the Phanpy. It was just so adorable, and it was at that moment that she knew who her first pokemon was going to be.
Though, Serah did give them all one last look through, she knew her choice to be that adorable Phanpy. "They are all wonderful pokemon. However, I do think I'm going to have to go with this little Phanpy." She said, kind of sorry that she couldn't take them all. She knew that the little Totodile and Aipom would eventually find a very good trainer. She was certain of that. So, she smiled and offered her hand to pet the two she didn't choose hoping they understood her gesture.

Sash smiled at the girl's interaction with the Pokemon. It looked like she really cared about Pokemon, and she could tell she would be a great trainer. It was exciting for the principal to be able to give her everything she needed to start her adventure. "Great! Here is its Pokeball." She held one of the empty Pokeballs out to the student. After she accepted it, Sash returned the Totodile and Aipom to their respective Pokeballs. "There is one more thing you need." She walked back to the room to store the two Pokemon again. Then she grabbed a backpack and headed back to the girl. "This is your starter pack. Now you are all set." She held the backpack out to her and smiled. "Good luck in school."

Serah smiled as she was handed the poke ball. She held it in her hand, letting out only a slight squeak of joy. She now had her very first pokemon, and she was quite happy that it was a pokemon that she actually knew. She returned the Phanpy to its pokeball, and gave a little bow to the principle. "Thank you ma'am." She said, a wide-toothed smile on her face. Serah then turned toward the door to the principle's office. She reached her hand out to once more open the door and walk through. When she was finally outside of the office, Serah took one more look at the poke ball that now held her very first pokemon. She put it on her belt, walking now toward her room on campus.
*Finished*
