Baby's First..... {Serkan/Serah}

Serah was just coming from the principle's office after receiving her first pokemon. By this point, she had gone back on her decision of keeping Scout, her Phanpy, in its poke ball. She wanted to get to know the little Phanpy as soon as possible. As she watched him as he went into the bushes, jumping out trying to scare her. She giggled at her Phanpy. He seemed confused, why wasn't she scared? He seemed quick enough to figure that out. The Phanpy tried to get out of sight, but Serah didn't let her eyes off of him. Serah found a little bench to sit down on. It was a nice enough day out that she really didn't have to go straight back to her room. Who knew what, or who, she would find out here. Maybe she would meet someone nice, or just someone who might be able help her learn her way around the campus. The wind blew her hair lightly. She looked around once more, still keeping an eye on Scout. He didn't look like he was causing any trouble, but she didn't think a little caution was uncalled for. Scout, for his part, gave a happy call to Serah. She should come and play with him! It was so much fun, and that was definitely something he was in favor of. In his opinion, though he couldn't vocalize it in a way his trainer could yet understand, fun was something everyone needed more of. Scout perked up as he thought he heard someone coming. This was something Serah picked up on, standing up and looking in the same direction as her Phanpy. "Hello? Is someone there?" She called, eyes searching for either person or pokemon. Entering the courtyard, Serkan spoke up. ”Howdy!” It had been he who had set off Scout’s awareness and in turn Serah’s. With his right arm in a sling, Serkan had to depend on his non-dominant arm. Waving at the girl nonchalantly, he walked towards the fountain. ”Are ya new here? I ain’t seen ya before. I’m Serkan Alamilla. Who’re ya?”Still keeping calm and cool, Serkan let out his magikarp. The poor girlie hadn’t gotten any training in. With Curtana in the pool, the magikarp looked around. She was always reactive rather than initiative. level: 3 attacks: splash abilities: swift swim, rattled hit by: -- used: -- heath: high green |

It was a boy that had gotten Scout's attention. The Phanpy immediately went behind the nearest bush, waited a moment and jumped out in an attempt to at least startle the new boy. Though, he didn't wait for a reaction. Scout went to investigate the Magikarp the boy had sent into the fountain. He snuck up on the fountain, and jumped into view of the other pokemon. Then, Scout settled down next to his trainer, satisfied with his attempts to startle the others. Serah waved back at the boy. "Yeah, I guess you could say that. I'm Serah Sigalot. And this troublemaker here is Scout." She said, reaching a hand out to shake the other boy's hand. "So, what brings you out here?" Level: 5 Attacks: Odor Sleuth, Tackle, Growl, Defense Curl, Ice Shard Abilities: Pickup, Sandveil Hit By: -- Used: -- Health: High Green |

When the phanpy jumped out, Serkan flinched a little. He laughed after, realizing what the little critter had been doing. ”Nice one!” The magikarp, on the other hand, merely copied Serkan’s reaction. She hadn’t been particularly shocked by the phanpy, but she still humored him. Serkan shook with his good hand. He then scratched the back of his head, embarrassed. ”Well, I went an’ broke my arm, so I finally got to go out and train today.” He paused, looking at the girl’s pokemon. ”Say! Why don’t I introduce ya to the school! I could give ya yer first battle an’ everything.” He gestured to his magikarp. ”She’s my weakest party member. If ya want someone stronger, I can get out Shotel.”Yes, Serkan, because she totally knew who Shotel was. Regardless, the boy waited on her reply. ”So… wanna battle, and then tour?”level: 3 attacks: splash abilities: swift swim, rattled hit by: -- used: -- heath: high green |

Scout almost didn't notice the reaction of trainer and pokemon. He let out a triumphant call, running in a small circle for his victory. He seemed to perk up when he heard that there might be a battle. He seemed to nudge his trainer into answering the question, pushing his head against her leg. Would she ever answer the question, the Phanpy began to wonder. Though, in all reality, it had only been about a minute since Serkan asked the question. To the eager Phanpy, it felt like it had been longer. Serah giggled at the antics of her Phanpy. "It seems that Scout here would love a battle." She said, bending down to pat Scout's head. "Hm... Well, you can use whoever you would prefer. My answer is yes, I would love a battle and a tour." She said. Once Serah had answered, Scout eagerly got in front of her, ready to begin the battle. "Well, it looks like he just can't wait."Level: 5 Attacks: Odor Sleuth, Tackle, Growl, Defense Curl, Ice Shard Abilities: Pickup, Sandveil Hit By: -- Used: -- Health: High Green |

Nodding, Serkan took on a more serious posture and walked a bit away from Serah so as to give space for the supposed battle field. ”Alright, Curtana, get ready for battle!”Obedient to the point of mindlessness, the magikarp splashed out of the pool of water and onto the ground. She’d gained a bit of dignity, able to rest upon her belly rather than her sides as she faced her opponent. She wasn’t strong yet, but she had pride. ”Curtana, you don’t have to win. You just have to make it worth it.”Wiggling her whiskers in acknowledgement of her trainer’s awareness of her weakness but faith that she was not totally useless, Curtana prepared to withstand the blows she knew would soon rain down upon her. ”... oh yeah, what team are you on?” Serkan called. ”I’m on Unova.”level: 3 attacks: splash abilities: swift swim, rattled hit by: -- used: splash heath: high green |

It seemed she would be having her very first battle right then and there. Serah nodded her head towards Serkan. "I'm on team Johto." She replied. She smiled when she heard Serkan talk to his Magikarp. He seemed like a friendly enough guy. And, this was a good enough time for her very first battle. And it seemed to her that Scout agreed with her. The Phanpy trumpeted his eagerness to begin. He looked from Serah to Serkan, and finally to Serkan's Magikarp. This was one Phanpy that couldn't wait to begin the battle. Scout stomped one foot in place and lifted his trunk. He was ready! It was time for the battle to begin. Serah nodded to the Phanpy, donning a competitive smile and a stance she thought was battle appropriate. "Well then Scout, shall we start our first battle?" Serah asked her Phanpy. Before Scout had a chance to show her his answer, Serah said something else. "Now then, let's start off with a Tackle attack, Scout!" Scout eagerly followed the order for the attack, charging at the Magikarp with every intent of hitting the other pokemon.
