As confident as the Numel was, he was not anticipating the second Ice Beam. His eyes widened as his feet suddenly lifted from the ground. He began to scramble as he attempted to regain control of his body, but it was no use. He slipped and fell on his nose, causing him to spin around and miss the Wooper. He wanted to get up and try again, but he only fell flat on his stomach. He decided to simply use Growl until he could figure out a better plan.

Wooper leapt up and down with glee, his spot being one of the few that didn't get frozen allowing him to move without slipping over. The Wooper spun around and wagged his tail at the Numel before spinning back around and sticking his tongue out to blow a raspberry, " Wooper Water Gun!" commanded Wooper's trainer. Wooper nodded his head as he parted his lips releasing a powerful stream of water forth to douse the fire type, he hoped it would hit this time especially with the frozen terrain. Level: 5 Abilities:Damp, Water Absorb, Unaware Attack:Water Gun, Tail Whip, Mud Sport, Encore TM Moves:Ice Beam, Dig, Scald Hit By:Growl, Used: Tail Whip, Water Gun Health: Low Green/High Yellow |

As the Numel slipped and slid around, he tried to control his movements, but it was no use. He was hit straight on by the Water Gun attack. Despite his best efforts, this last attack was too much for him. He finally collapsed from exhaustion on the frozen ground. At least he had gone down knowing he had tried his hardest. His hardest was simply not enough.

(OOC: Question. Even though my Eggs didn't hatch at the time I started this thread but have hatched now would I be able to use the pokemon that hatched from them in this thread?) Wooper leapt up and down laughing happily, he had beat his very first pokemon. He rolled about before slipping on the ice and went sailing into a rock. He stood up his head spinning before his trainer spoke, "Use your scald to get rid of the ice" Wooper nodded and released a stream of scalding hot water upwards into the air where it then came downwards as hot rain. Steam rose into the air as the ice began to melt as Wooper kept up the continuous stream of hot water. While Wooper was doing that Susano'o removed a pokeball from his pocket and threw it towards the fallen Numel to capture it. As the Numel was sucked inside the ball this time, he had no more strength to resist. It grew still, and he was captured.

Someone had been lurking in the shadows behind Susano'o. Cole had only seen the very end of the battle, but he had heard the sounds recorded by his Chatot and decided he had enough information to proceed with the recruitment process. His trusty Houndoom Emperor was by his side. Once the Numel was captured, he stepped forward to reveal himself. "Excellent battle," he said in a smooth voice. "I can see you are quite strong." He paused to let the stranger react. He had to go about this carefully.
  Cole & Emperor OOC: Technically, there is no rule against it, but it would be better for the consistency of the roleplay if you did not use them. |

Susano'o hid a smirk as he stepped up to the fallen pokeball. He crouched down picking up, his first catch a numel. While not a desired pokemon by his standards it would still be quite useful in his endeavours. If only for the fact to help him catch other pokemon same as his Wooper. He attached the pokeball on his belt adjusting the eggs on his back. His senses twitched as he heard a foot step. He whirled around drawing his tonfa from his belt falling into a simple stance as someone spoke, their tone rather smooth. Susano'os eyes landed upon the male before him and his Houndoom. The Houndoom looked rather strong and no doubt would demolish his Wooper in a battle. It was to be expected he had only just started out as a trainer and so his team wasn't very strong compared to experienced trainers. Susano'o didn't relax his grip or drop his stance, he held it up showing no openings in it as the male spoke saying he seemed quite strong.
Susano'o held back a snort at that, in a battle with low level pokemon anyone could be seen as strong. If you were to go off the trainer's strength though Susano'o would say without a doubt he was strong, after all he had to be if he was going to be a 'God'. His brain went into over time to assess the situation, this male no doubt had been watching him and to only appear not long after that Chatot had flown off must mean it belonged to him. His smooth tone reminded Susano'o of his own manipulative tendencies. No doubt this person was after something the question was what? And if anyone was going to do the manipulating it was going to be Susano'o.
The tonfa wielding trainer dropped his arms and stood straight but his posture left him still on guard, "Why thank you. Of course I am only as strong as my Wooper. If anything your praise should fall to him" spoke Susano'o in a soft gentle tone a beaming smile in place. His Wooper ran over and stood in front of his trainer staring at the Houndoom. He crouched down picking the Wooper up and sat him on his right shoulder, "I hope I'm not being rude but may I enquire as to what brings you out this way?

Cole was good at reading people, and he could tell this guy was not totally comfortable in his presence. That was to be expected. One could never be too careful with strangers. He nodded at the mention of his Wooper. Yes, it was the Pokemon that did the battling, but they had to be trained properly. "Of course." he eyed the Wooper as he was placed on his trainers shoulder. "He has good spirit." He wondered if this guy believed in being friends with Pokemon above making them strong. It was not that important at this point; as long as he wanted to become stronger, Cole could eventually convince him of the correct way to do it.
Emperor stared at the Wooper but did not say anything. At the question the other guy presented, Cole simply smiled. It was true he was not here just to chat. While there was something he wanted to get out of him, he was not trying to be manipulative. What he had to offer would be advantageous for both of them. "I wish to battle strong trainers to test myself and them, so I thought the Lava Cave would be the perfect place to find them." He paused before continuing. "Would you like to battle? I have Pokemon of all levels. We can meet at a later time if you are not available now." The guy might have other plans or no healthy Pokemon left, so he wanted to leave that option open. He calmly waited for a reply. |

Susano'o slid his tonfa back into their holsters on his belt as the man spoke about coming to the Lava cave to find strong trainers to battle. Susano'o could relate to that, after all the only way to get stronger was by beating stronger opponents not weaker ones. The weak gave you no challenge unlike the strong. He ran his thumb against his nose as a grin began to form as the man issued a challenge saying he had pokemon of all levels. Susano'os wooper leapt down from his trainer's shoulder a battle hardened gaze in his eyes, he was ready to go. Susano'o chuckled as he grabbed his bag and removed a potion from it squirting the Wooper's bruises with the chemical. Within seconds the water types injuries were all gone. "I'm always ready to fight" commented Susano'o as his smile returned, "But before we begin it is only common courtesy to introduce oneself. Kusanagi, Susano'o. And I am the man who shall unite the world in peace!" commented Susano'o, by simply stating he was planning to unite the world in peace it would hide his true goals to rule over it as a vicious tyrant, as its king as a God! He would become the new God of the Pokemon World! Any who got in the way would not live to regret it, human or pokemon. A wide smile spread across Cole's face when the other guy accepted his challenge, though there was something creepy about it. He watched as the Wooper was restored to full health. Excellent. Now he could see what the little guy was made of and how much strength his trainer truly possessed. He dipped his head upon being asked his name. "Of course. I am Cole." He left out his surname deliberately. He did not want any inquisitive Cherilli student to figure out that he was the brother of the principal. Of course, anyone who met him could look up old school records and find his first name and picture, which was why he did not do much recruiting himself. Sometimes, though, it was worth the risk.
After looking over the Wooper, he decided upon a Pokemon himself. It was a Pokemon he was training, and it would be later given to a GOA member. Therefore, it did not have a name. Also, it had the special ability Illusion, which meant the Pokemon would take the form of another in his party. Its true appearance would only be revealed once it too damage. Hiding a smirk, Cole tossed the Pokeball in the air. What appeared to be a Pansear now stood before him. "You may go first." He patiently waited for the battle to begin.

Drakan walked through the lava cave, hearing sounds of battle. He almost walked past, but just noticed the two trainers battling, and decided watching could be good. But he did find interesting that the pokemon the orange haired trainer threw out was a fire type, an interesting battle. He lay down, hoping they would not see him.

Susano'o narrowed his eyes at the Pansear as it appeared before him, who would deliberately send out a pokemon who had a natural weakness to its opponent, only very few would those were either rookies or complete idiots and this cole didn't seem like an idiot nor a rookie to him. He pushed the thought to the back of his head deciding to worry about it later but for now he needed to win, "Alright Wooper lets begin!" the Wooper jumped up and down kicking his little legs, "Start with Tail Whip!" Wooper swung around and began to wag his tail in order to lower the opposing pokemon's defence to make his attacks much stronger, "Trip him up Ice Beam!" Wooper opened his mouth firing the cyan coloured light all over the place. The light struck the ground, rocks and flew at the Pansear. The beam froze the ground beneath them turning it into a field of ice as the beam travelled on towards the Pansear. Ice Beam, huh? That was a move not typically learned by Wooper at that level. The trainer must have used a TM. Very resourceful. However, Cole's experience would make up for any lack of powerful moves his own Pokemon possessed. "Dodge it," he said. He did not want their secret let out just yet."Then Scratch!" He calmly waited to see what would unfold.
Pansear had to work hard to dodge the Ice Beam. Thankfully, his nimble body allowed her to quickly dart back and forth. She carefully avoided the places where the ice had struck the ground as she darted forward. She was nearly out of breath by the time she reached the Wooper, but she still managed to pull out her claws to attempt to strike him.

Drakan enjoyed the battle, it was so nice to see such young pokemon train, with their trainers so confident. He put his tail flame in front of him, and breathed a little fire on it.

Wooper slid along the ice just as the Pansear charged for a scratch attack. The Wooper laughed out loud as he slid across the ice using it to increase his speed as he became a blur. He slid to a stop by lifting his left foot to touch a rock, "Tail whip! Wooper slid around carefully before wagging his tail and then slid back again, "Wooper Scald!" Susano'o commanded. Wooper nodded and parted his lips releasing a powerful high pressure stream of scalding hot water. The water flew towards the Pansear to slam into him all the while causing the ice to melt in its path making steam rise into the air hiding Wooper's form from view, Susano'o would use it as a cover. Level: 7 Abilities:Damp, Water Absorb, Unaware Attack:Water Gun, Tail Whip, Mud Sport, Encore TM Moves:Ice Beam, Dig, Scald Hit By: Used: Tail Whip, Scald Health: High Green |

Cole was impressed with the trainer's battling style. If his own Pokemon had truly been a fire type, Scald would have done a lot of damage. When the attack hit, it changed the Pokemon back into his true form - a Zorua. The steam might be able to hide this fact for a bit longer. "Scratch, again." Hopefully, they would get a strike this time.
Zorua disliked the hot water that hit him and sent him flying back. He looked down in dismay to see that he had been changed back to his normal form. Oh well. The trick had been fun while it lasted. Now it was time to get really into the battle. The steam made it hard to see, but he still tried to navigate his way forward so he could try another Scratch.
