The day had finally arrived. Nate had been training hard, and now it was time to face Jenna, the first battle leader. He had been taking it slow, preferring to take in new experiences instead of training hard right away to get out of school quicker. With all of his hard work, it was great to see some results. He knew he could win this. His Eevee Watcher clung to his shoulder as he stepped into the room. "Hello?" he said as he looked around. "Jenna, I'm here to challenge you!" |

At the sound of someone calling, Jenna left the place where she debriefed from battling and made her way to the battle arena. She took in the boy before her, the one who was challenging her. She thought his Eevee was pretty cute. "Hello!" she greeted him with a smile. "I accept your challenge." She moved over to the place of the field where she would call out orders to her Pokemon for the battle. "This will be a three-on-three battle. You may have the first move." Quickly thinking of who she wanted to bring out first, she pulled out a Pokeball and tossed it towards the middle of the grassy field. "Let's battle, Sting!" Her Beedrill appeared in the air and immediately took its battle stance. They were ready.  Level: 12 Attacks: Fury Attack Abilities: Swarm, Sniper Hit By: Used: Health: High Green |

Nate nodded. "Sounds good." He examined the Beedrill for a second. He thought she might be using that Pokemon. He puled out a Pokeball and released his first Pokemon. "Come on out, Chelsea." Now that she knew an electric move, the Shinx would be great for this first battle. "Use Baby-Doll Eyes and Tackle!" The Beedrill may be able to dodge Tackle, but the trainer wanted to test it out first to see if he could come up with a strategy to make it effective.
Chelsea looked at the Beedrill with a determined expression. She was so ready for this! She did not particularly like Baby-Doll Eyes, but she knew she had to use it. She stared at her opponent with cute eyes to lower his attack power. When she was satisfied, she started to run straight towards him, planning to leap into the air to Tackle him.

Jenna found the Shinx quite cute, especially when she used Baby-Doll Eyes. She could not let her opponent know that, though. "Quick, Sting, dodge!" Unfortunately, the Beedrill seemed too mesmerized by the Shinx to obey. She quickly brushed it off. This battle was just getting started. "Alright, use Fury Attack!"
Sting kept his eyes on the Shinx. The way she was looking at him made her quite attractive. He was too distracted to be wary of the Tackle. He was pushed back from the attack, but he did not fall to the ground. He quickly recovered, determined to make up for that loss. He swept down low and began attacking his oppoent with the sharp points on his arms. Nate was glad that Tackle had worked. He had been worried the Beedrill would be able to easily fly away. He had a feeling the next time he would not be so lucky. Chelsea did not have a chance to dodge herself, and he had to do something quickly. "Use Spark!" He hoped that would keep the bug away.
Chelsea smirked when she saw the Beedrill had been distracted. Maybe her Baby-Doll Eyes attack was pretty cool after all. Her victory was short lived. Those things hurt! She tried to back away, but the bug type kept up the attacks. Then she took a deep breath and let out her electricity at close range.

Jenna realized she had made the mistake of letting her Pokemon gett too close to an electric type. This was not going to happen again. "Sting, use Fury Attack form behind, and then fly straight up as soon as you are able." This should work for her as it had done in the past; she was always prepared.
Sting continued to attack as long as he was able. He only stopped when he felt an electric current flow through his body. He flew off to the side in an attempt tog et away form it. That had not been fun! Heobeyed his trainer and swooped down at the Shinx from behind her, planning to attack and then fly up. Nate was glad his first Spark attack worked. Unfortunately the Beedrill managed to get in a longer Fury Attack. As the bug type flew away, the trainer knew he would have a hard time using Tackle. "Chelsea, use Spark and then Charge!" If this one missed, he would come up with a good strategy to come back.
Chelsea smirked in satisfaction. That had been a good electric attack! She heard the Beedrill coming toward her, but when she turned around, it was too late. By the time she was ready to attack, he was already far away from her. She sent another Spark attack at him anyway. Then she charged up her electric attacks so the next one would be even more powerful.

Jenna watched as her Pokemon was able to dodge the next Spark attack. Good. They would show their opponents that this was not going to be an easy win. Though Sting only new one attack, there were many ways he could use it. "Good job Sting. Now use Fury Attack while flying low, and do not stop!" She waited curiously to see if they would be able to take this one.
Sting managed to fly high enough to dodge the electric attack. He did not let his momentum slow down by quickly turning and zooming down. he picked up speed as he neared the Shinx. When he got close, he would use Fury attack near her feet for a few seconds before continuing along his flight path. Nate grit his teeth when the Beedrill's attack worked well. This was going to be more difficult than he thought. Jenna was obviously skilled, and he was going to need a good strategy to defeat her. He decided to go with his best combination next. "Hang in there, Chelsea. Use Leer and Spark!" That should be quite effective.
Chelsea's eyes widened when Sting flew out of the way of her attack. How had she missed him?! She wanted that bug to come down here so she could squash it. She took back her wish as soon as the Beedrill struck her hard and kept flying. Growling, she spun around and used Leer. Then she let out her best Spark attack. <Take that!>

The battle was getting intense. Sting seemed to be wearing down quicker than the Shinx, but he still had a lot of steam left. "Alright, now use Fury Attack from up top!" Mixing up the way the attack was used would hopefully keep them on their toes.
Sting attempted to fly away, but he was no match for the oncoming Spark. He shivered as the electricity coursed through his body. That did not feel good at all! He turned around in the air, determined to strike back harder. He flew forward until he was directly above the Shinx and then descended down on her. Nate was getting into this battle. He could tell this round was winding down, and he wanted to finish off strong. He quickly came up with a strategy o ensure victory. "Quick, use Tackle and then Charge!" He hoped she would get the attac in on time.
Chelsea was glad her attack had worked. She was so going to win this! She looked up just in time to see the Beedrill coming straight down at her. She had no time to dodge the attack. Before her opponent could get away, she leapt forward to Tackle him. Then she stood back and charged up her electric attacks.

Jenna knew her Pokemon could easily dodge the Tackle attack. However, she got an idea that would do more than just prevent her Beedrill from being hit. "Sting, dodge by flying under her and then use Fury Attack from underneath!" It was perfect, and she hoped they did not see it coming.
Sting saw the Shinx flying at him, but since his trainer was not worried, neither was he. The Beedrill knew he was skilled enough to pull this off. He quickly zoomed down, missing the Tackle attack. Then he flew up, aiming for the Shinx's belly and planning to use a Fury Attack against her. Level: 12 Attacks: Fury Attack Abilities: Swarm, Sniper Hit By: Used: Fury Attack Health: High Red |

"Look out!" Nate cried, but it was too late. He watched helplessly as his Pokemon was hit and then tumbled to the ground. Both of them were wearing out, so he had to think of something quickly. "Use Leer and Spark!" This should do the trick.
Chelsea was dismayed when she did not hit her target. She aimed to land gracefully on the floor, but she was struck from underneath. She cried out as she fell to the ground with a loud 'thud.' She struggled to her feet and leered at the Beedrill in anger. He would pay for that! She let out her best Spark attack she could muster.

Jenna was glad their attack had worked. It was amazing how many ways they could use Fury Attack. She watched as Sting flinched from the Leer. "It's okay, Sting. Dodge it!" Her Beedrill moved slightly at her words but was unable to get away from the attack. He was shocked by the Spark and fainted. Jenna returned him to his Pokeball. "Good job, Sting. Take a nice rest." She looked up at Nate while she exchanged the Pokeball for another. "Your Shinx is well raised. I hope your others are just the same. They'll have to be to take on June!" She tossed the Pokeball in the air, and a Paras appeared. She waited to see what Nate would do. Nate watched in satisfaction as the Beedrill was finally brought down. "Great job, Chelsea!" That had been one tough bug. This was not over yet, though. His Shinx was almost almost done herself, and they still had two more Pokemon to face. He could not lose his focus now. He quickly looked over the Paras before deciding on his tactic. "Alright, Chelsea, let's us Tackle!" This Pokemon should be easier to it than the previous one.
<Yes!> Chelsea said triumphantly. She had done it! She was tired, but she had done it! That was one down and two to go. She hoped she could last a bit longer. She loved battling and facing new challenges! The Paras that soon appeared did not intimidate her. <I can beat you too!> Then she charged forward for a Tackle.
