Nate could see what Jenna was trying to do. It was pretty clever, but Watcher still had plenty of time to dodge. His past experience in contests gave him an idea for a cool combination. If this worked, he would keep it in mind for the future. "Jump above the sand and do a flip in the air. Land facing the Paras and then do Quick Attack!" He thought his Eevee was fast enough to get this done. He hoped it looked pretty cool as well.
Watcher could see the Paras slicing away at the Sand Attack. That was a good way to get rid of the sand, but he could tell it would be hard for her to change direction. He was going to use this to his advantage. He backed up a bit to get a running start before leaping in the air. While in he air, he tucked in his tail and did a flip. Then he twisted so he was turned around and landed on his feet, facing the Paras. He immediately zipped forward using Quick Attack.

Jenna watched in admiration as the Eevee flipped in a way to avoid the sand and her Paras as well as to land in a position that made him able to attack. With him facing behind June, and sand still around her, it was extremely difficult for her to turn around in time and dodge. That Quick Attack was fast. She allowed her Paras to get hit, knowing she had little choice. "That was a spectacular move," she said with a smile. "I can't wait to see more." She looked at June and said, "Use Poisonpowder!" It was time for a new move to make things interesting.
June frowned when she could not find the Eevee. Where was he? She continued to scratch at the sand, searching for him. <Ah!> she exclaimed at getting struck in the back. That's where he was... Shaking herself off, she spun around and waited to be told what to do. That was a sneaky Eevee! Her trainer knew what to do, though. She always did. Hearing what she was to do, she sprayed Poisonpowder from her claws all over her opponent, hoping he would become poisoned.

Nate smiled and nodded at Jenna's compliment. "Thank you." It was good to see that contests were great experience for battles as well. He would have to keep that in mind for the next contest. He thought he just might enter some more. He pushed that to the back of his mind and focused on the battle at hand. That Poisonpowder would likely poison his Eevee, so he had to work fast. "You're doing well, Watcher. Now use Sand Attack and Swift!" He liked this combination because it required little movement.
Watcher had no time to dodge the Poisonpowder. He coughed as the powder entered his lungs and tensed when he felt the poison enter his veins. This was not good. He could not be beat by this little bug! He kept calm like he had been trained and turned around as smoothly as possible. He could still do this! He whipped his tail back and forth. A second later, he moved his tail sharply to send out sharply pointed stars.

Jenna was impressed with the fighting spirit of the Eevee and his training. it looked like this round was going to come down to the line. "Not bad," she said. The sand Attack made it hard for her own Pokemon to dodge. However, Watcher was tiring quickly, and it looked like one more good strike will bring him down. "Too bad it won't be enough. Now Leech Life, June!" This attack would also help her tired Paras.
June braced herself for the sand that was flung in her face. She tried to close her eyes, but it was too late. <Hey!> she cried just before the stars hit her. She really did not like that attack. She was breathing heavily when she opened her eyes again. At least the Eevee was still enar her, which would make her next attack easier. <Taste my fury!> She leapt at her opponent, planning to sink her teeth into him and drain his energy if she made contact.

Nate was glad that Watcher was not paralyzed at the moment. "Dodge that!" if the attack succeeded, it would be bad for him. Unfortunately, that was exactly what happened. He could see most of the remaining energy sucked out of his Eevee. As long as the Paras was close, nothing good was going to happen. There was only one thing he could think to do to get her away from him. "Use Swift once more!" He hoped this would work. Both Pokemon seemed down to their limits.
Watcher could still feel the effects of the poison in his body, but he refused to give up. he could do this! He was too weak to dodge the bug that came running towards him, and he winced as he felt fangs dig into his flesh. He tried to shake the Paras off, but it was no use. Finally, he turned and aimed his Swift attack at the body near his. <Take that!>

(OOC: Not sure if it's really that important, but I believe when two status conditions are activated the old one is replaced by the new one, so only one is in effect. Unless status conditions are being applied differently here) June the Paris cried out in pain as the swift attack landed, having been unable to avoid the incoming attack. The grass bug type pokemon flew back across the battle field crashing into the ground at the feet of her trainer Jenna. The Battle leader smiled softly at her pokemon as she removed her pokemon's pokeball returning June to its confines, "Get a long rest June you did well" Jenna turned her focus towards Nate, " You've done well. Now let's bring this battle to a close" Jenna removed a new pokeball from her belt enlarging the sphere and threw it up into the air, " Come on out Timtom!" in a beam of crimson light a Heracross appeared on the battle. The Bug Fighting Type pounded his chest giving a battle cry as he appeared on the battle field raring for a battle. Nate let out a breath of relief when the Paras finally fainted. That had been a tough battle. It was not over yet, though. His Eevee was growing tired, but he still had one more Pokemon as well. He knew they both wanted to go out fighting. "Ok, it's not time to back down. Swift, again!" He thought this would be the easiest attack given his condition.
Watcher was happy that he had been able to defeat the Paras. He did not have the energy to celebrate, though. And now there was another bug type looming in front of him. He only had enough energy to open his mouth and spit out his sharp stars. He could already feel poison threatneing to take the last of his strength.

Jenna watched as Nate commanded his Eevee to unleash a swift attack that surged forth slamming into her Timtom pushing the fighting bug pokemon back across the field a few inches, "Timtom hold out and utilise Aerial Ace, he can't dodge that!" Jenna commanded, with aerial ace her Timtom could land a single attack that would hit without fail ad hopefully deal some series damage to the Eevee enough to force Nate to bring out his third pokemon so this battle can really begin. Timtom forced his feet into the battle field as the stars from the swift attack collided with his hardened shell body. He shook the attack off and pounded his fists together, "Heracross <Let's go!>" shouted the bug pokemon as he opened his wings up on his back and flew up into the air flying up high before he dived down flying at high speed towards the Eevee aiming for the normal pokemon's torso. Level: 14

Watcher looked up as the Heracross came soaring at him. There was nothing he could do to dodge the attack, and the collision caused him to faint.
Nate smiled slightly as he pulled out his Pokeball. "Great work, buddy." He knew exactly who he was going to choose for his final Pokemon. "Alright, let's go, Blaise!" He tossed the Charmander's Pokeball in the air to release him. This was a good matchup. He wondered if Jenna had any tricks up her sleeve to deal with fire types. "Use Ember!"
Blaise smiled happily, glad to be in the battle. He hoped this would be fin. <Hi!> he called to the Heracross. Ok, time to attack. He sucked in hair and then blew out balls of fire. This would be good against the bug type, right?

Jenna smiled in the direction of the trainer, it was down to their final pokemon whoever won this round would be the victor. Nate was a strong trainer so she would make this as difficult for him as possible, she would make sure he earned this victory. That was the only way the trainer could truly beat her is if he would give it all he had to beat her Timtom. As the trainer sent out a Charmander her smile widened, " A fire type good choice, but Timtom won't be beat so easy" said the bug trainer, "Now Timtom stand your ground than follow up with leer and surge forth with another Aerial Ace" commanded Jenna. Timtom looked on at the Charmander with a battle thirsty smirk, " <Alright let's go! I won't be beaten so easily>" shouted the Heracross as he flexed his muscles. As the barrage of embers launched towards him he quickly curled into a ball to make himself as small as possible to minimise the damage he would take to a little as possible. Once the flames died down he leered forth before wings burst from his back. He leapt forth into action launching at high speed flight towards the fire lizard. Level: 14

Nate was pleased with the effects of the fire attack. He nodded at Jenna's statement. he was not expecting this to be too easy. It was her job to make it hard on him, after all. It looked like the Heracross knew some pretty good moves himself. He thought Jenna would see another Ember coming, so he decided to go with something different. "Ok, Blaise, use Smokescreen and then Scratch."
<Ok,> Blaise said to the Heracross. Easy wins were not too fun anyway. He hopped from one foot to the other as he waited for a counterattack. The Leer made him freeze, and then he was knocked off his feet by the Aerial Ace. he felt dizzy as he stood up, but this was no time to give up! He first located his opponent, then he opened his mouth and blew a thick, dark smoke across the field. He ran forward while doing so in order to Scratch the other Pokemon.

Jenna watched the battle. Nate was cleaver using a smokescreen in order to decrease her Heracross Timtoms vision in order lower his ability to deliver attacks. Of course she would just have to pick an attack other than Tackle or Horn Attack. Aerial Ace was a fantastic move for when her foes used a smokescreen or similar attack, "Alright Timtom aerial ace lets go!' commanded Jenna. Timtom coughed and splattered as the smoke screen consumed his form. He attempted to waft away the smoke he cried out as the Charmander slammed into him with a scratch attack sending him sliding back a few inches. He turned to face Charmander and gave a roar as he opened his wings and sped forth with an Aerial Ace. Level: 14

Nate narrowed his eyes at the command for another Aerial Ace. It seemed she had found a way around the Smokescreen. Of course, she was a Battle Leader. The student had a plan of his own, though, that he hoped would finish this battle. "Use Ember just after he hits you!" Both Pokemon were wearing down, but Blaise still held the advantage.
The Charmander stood his ground, ready to face what came next. It was useless to dodge Aerial Ace anyway. He needed to be prepared so he got his timing right. He clenched his teeth when he felt the Heracross ram into him. He immediately opened his mouth and shot out his Ember where he knew the other Pokemon to be.

Timtom buzzed as he slammed into the Charmander only for his eyes to widen, " CROSS <"NOOO>!" cried the pokemon as he realised what was happening far to late. He felt the intense heat of the embers flames dancing across his scream as he burst into flames. The bug pokemon roared in pain as he fell to his knees the flames dying down to reveal his burned body. He collapsed to the ground having fainted from the final attack. Jenna smiled softly as she returned Timtom to his pokeball, "Good job Timtom you did me proud" complimented Jenna as she approached the trainer and his charmander pulling out a piece of paper with her signature on it, "Here take this, this marks that you have beaten me in battle. Congratulations I had fun. if you ever wanted to fight again feel free to visit" she then turned to her right as her assistant, a Caterpie, approached with a tray full of rare candies on its head. She removed five rare candies from the tray and passed them to Nate, " As a reward take these rare candies, use them to make your pokemon strong"Level: 14

Nate let out a breath he did not realize he had been holding. The battle had finally ended, and he had won. It had been a lot of work, though. He smiled tiredly at his Charmander. "Great work, buddy. You fought well." He walked to meet Jenna, smiling as he accepted the items. "Thank you! I enjoyed it as well." Before he could say anything else, something caught his eye. he turned to see that Blaise was glowing. His eyes widened in surprise. He knew what was happening; the fire type was evolving! OOC: Blaise is evolving. Thanks for remembering the rare candies. I keep forgetting. XP |
