The Tirtouga was unable to move out of the way and was scratched by Amber. When the attack was over, it turned to face her and sent a shot of water towards her.

Faith was pleased that her attack had hit. "Now dodge!" she called, knowing a Water Gun would be very effective. Unfortunately, her Fennekin appeared too nervous to listen to her, and she whimpered when the water hit her. She could tell she was going to have to work on her confidence. She would start by winning this battle. "It's ok. Use Tail Whip and Scratch!" That should be an effective combination.
Amber heard the call to dodge, but she was frozen in place by fear. She usually had a friend beside her when she battled, but now she did not know what to do. She whimpered when she was pushed back by the Water Gun. She decided the best way to survive was to obey her trainer, so she bent down and waved her fluffy tail in the air. Then she bolted forward to attempt another Scratch attack. The Tirtouga did not move and was struck by the scratch. After a moment, it began to awkwardly into the Fennekin.

Faith could see the Tirtouga rolling into a ball. She knew this was a repetitive attack that grew stronger, so she decided to was best to get hit right now. "Ok, get ready to use Ember and then Tail Whip." She hoped the order would be effective in this instance.
Amber jumped back after she finished her attack. What was that turtle doing now? Her eyes widened when she saw a ball rolling towards her. She was too afraid to jump out of the way, and the Tirtouga rolled right into her. She got right back up on her feet and blew fire at the rolling ball. Then she flipped her tail back and forth. The Tirtouga was hit by the fire and grunted. Then it started to roll forward again, aiming to hit the Fennekin.

Faith knew she had to do something to stop the Rollout attacks or she would lose this battle for sure. Fire would do little good against the ground type. There was only one thing she could think of. "Jump to the side and then Scratch it!" It would be hard to pull off, but it might be effective if it worked.
Amber was dismayed that her fire had little effect on the rolling ball. What was she supposed to do now? She didn't want it to hit her again. She didn't like being squashed! The only thing she could do was listen to her trainer. She almost couldn't move out of fear, but at the last second she was able to dart to the side while extending her claw to Scratch the Tirtouga. The water tortoise slid along the ground having ended its rollout. With the Fennekin having dodged his attack his rollout had come to an end. He turned to face the Fennekin as it's claws connected with him sending him sliding back an inch. His rock like body had kept him protected from the normal type attack, so far none of her attacks had done any kind of damage to him. He then opened his mouth and launched forth a stream of water using his water gun attack attempting to cause as much damage as possible. The battle was dragging on, but Faith remained patient. She could tell the Tirtouga was planning on using a water attack. This was not good. "Jump in the air and use Tail Whip with Ember!" Fire attacks did less damage than normal attacks, but she wanted to make sure she would have a hit.
Amber stopped to catch her breath long enough to see the Tirtouga preparing another attack. This battling stuff was hard! She took a deep breath before launching into her counter move. She ran forward and leapt into the air, barely missing the water that surged under her. She flipped in the air while moving her tail. Then she straightened out and shot her Ember at her opponent just before landing on the ground. he Fossil simulation eyed the two as the Fenniken avoided its attack. The tirtouga made an angry noise as its flippers splashed about in annoyance. The pokemon glared as the fire type wagged his tail at it before unleashing a barrage of embers. The Fossil was prepared knowing that the flames wouldn't do much damage, but it was sorely mistaken. It roared in pain as the flames struck hard sending it flying back having landed a critical. The pokemon growled and unleashed another water gun in retaliation. Faith was pleased to see that the other Pokemon had taken a lot of damage. "You can do this, Amber. Use Scratch!" She hoped this would do it. She watched as her Pokemon was hit by the water. She knew her little fire type would not be able to take another attack like that.
Amber looked on in surprise as the Tirtouga appeared to be in pain. It was only an illusion, but it still looked like it hurt. Maybe she could do this after all! Just as she thought this, she was pushed back by the Water Gun attack. She could feel herself weakening, but she had to keep going. She leaped forward, planning to strike with her claws when she got close to her opponent. The final strach brought the virtual pokemon down like a tonne of bricks. The Tirtouga cried out as his body burst into a punch of light blue pixelated cubes that flew off into the air signalling his termination. A feminine mechanical voice echoed through the simulation "" Congratulations, you have defeated Tirtouga. If you would like to continue please wait one minute, if you are finished please remove your helmet" echoed the voice as the machine began to process. Debuf: Def-- Hit By: Scratch Used Health: ---

Faith smiled when she saw that she had won. "Great job, Amber!" The Fennekin turned around and gave her a nervous smile in return. The girl thought this was an improvement in their relationship, and she was satisfied. "Take a rest now." She had one more Pokemon she wanted to train. She carefully took the helmet off of the Pokemon and returned her. She took a deep breath before pulling out another Pokeball and releasing the Pokemon inside. She quickly forced the helmet on the Pachirisu before she could protest. Nutella looked at her in surprise, and then her eyes narrowed suspiciously. "We're just going to battle..." The machine lit up as pixels floated down from the room. The room shifted into a rocky terrain as the pixels came together in the shape of a Geodude that hovered in front of them. The virtual pokemon gave a mighty cry as it slammed it's fists into its chest getting ready for battle. Faith took a deep breath and let it out slowly. A Geodude. They could beat this rock type. "Nutella, use Quick Attack!" It was really the only choice she had with the moves she currently knew.
Nutella did not like being told what to do, but she had to admit, she wanted to get stronger. If she was stronger and knew more moves, maybe she could escape from her current situation. This was why she decided to obey her trainer and fight her hardest. She darted forward, planning on ramming into that Geodude.
