A Magnemite appeared in place of the Ekans. It floated in midair. <Magnemite,> was all it said as it waited.  Magnemite Level: 7 Attacks: Tackle, Supersonic, Thunder Shock Abilities: Magnet Pull, Sturdy, Analytic Hit By: Used: Health: High Green OOC: OH. WOW.... -_- I looked at that again before to make sure, and I was pretty sure it did say "shred." I thought it was strange. -facepalm- |

Hmm... a floating Pokemon. This could present a problem. Chomper knew an attack that could hit him, but it would not do much damage. They were just going to have to try to do their best. "Chomper, start off with a Leer and Water Gun." She wondered how much damage the combined moves would inflict.
Chomper was momentarily frightened by the sight of the Magnemite. Then he swallowed and put on a brave face. He had to be strong for his trainer. He mustered up the best Leer he could handle. Then he shot his Water Gun straight at the other Pokemon. He hoped this would work. He did not like electric types.

The Magnemite flew backwards from the force of the water. It recovered quickly and sent a Thunder Shock at Chomper. Magnemite Level: 7 Attacks: Tackle, Supersonic, Thunder Shock Abilities: Magnet Pull, Sturdy, Analytic Hit By: Leer, Water Gun Used: Thunder Shock Health: Low Green |

The Thundershock was not good. It did not do that much damage this time, but they could not risk getting hit again in the future. Kiki quickly came up with a strategy. "Chomper, use Leer. Then use Water Gun on the ground to propel yourself up and Scratch the Magnemite. If this worked, it could be a good contest battle move.
Chomper closed his eyes when the Thundershock struck him. That was no fun. He opened his eyes and used Leer against his opponent. He was unsure about his next move, but he would give it a try. He used his Water Gun against the ground, and the force of it sent him flying in the air. When he got close to the electric type, he extended his claws to Scratch it.

The Magnemite's defense was lowered, and it appeared to flinch at the Leer. <Magnemite!> it cried out as it was scratched. When the claws were gone, it sent an odd sound wave at Chomper, which had the potential to confuse Pokemon. An odd noise filled the room, and Kiki had to cover her ears because it bothered her. "Don't listen to it!" she cried. Whatever that attack was, it could not be good. "Use Leer and Water Gun!" She hoped her Pokemon would be able to obey.
Chomper had covered his own ears before his trainer said anything. Luckily, he could still hear her commands. He attempted the best Leer he could in his position. Then he took a deep breath, opened his mouth, and sprayed water at the Magnemite.

The Magnemite flinched at the leer and had its defense lowered. It could not dodge the water, so it was pushed backwards again. Once the water was gone, it moved forward and sent odd sound waves at Chomper like before. Then, it used Thunder Shock quickly after that. There was that sound again. It was hard to think with that high pitched noise. Kiki frowned when she saw that Chomper had been confused, which allowed him to be hit by the Thunder Shock. She did not know how well he would be able to attack back, so she decided to stick with something simple. "Use Water Gun again if you can."
The noise got inside Chomper's head again, driving him crazy. Then nothing made sense. Where was he? The Thunder Shock struck him, knocking him out of it. He still felt a little out of it, though, as he aimed another Water Gun attack at the Magnemite.

Kiki was disappointed that Water Gun did not hit, not that it would have done much damage anyway. When the Magnemite zoomed forward, she got an idea. "Chomper, jump to the side a little bit and used Scratch." The Totodile's more damaging physical attack was hard to use against a floating Pokemon, so this was their shot to make it work.
Chomper felt fearful when the Magnemite moved towards him. It was not an electric attack, but it was bound to hurt. His trainer's voice calmed him. He stepped out of the way right before he would be hit. A second later, he reached out his claw to Scratch the Magnemite. Hopefully, this one would work.

The Magnemite stopped moving when it did not hit Chomper. It was scratched and turned towards him. It appeared angry as it sent a Thunder Shock at him again. Kiki knew Chomper did not have the speed yet to dodge a Thunder Shock attack. She wondered if he could hold up for much longer. "Hang in there, Chomper. Use Leer and Water Gun." It was the easiest combination to use, but would it be enough?
Chomper started to run when he saw the wave of electricity, but it hit him anyway. He fell to the ground in pain. He knew he had to keep trying. He had to show that he could do this. He slowly got up and used Leer at the Magnemite. Then he shot out the best Water Gun he could muster.

The Magnemite shivered at the Leer. It stayed in place with fear as water shot at it. It was flown back by the force and soon collapsed on the white floor. It had fainted. A mechanical voice said, "Congratulations, you have won. Take your helmets off if you are finished." Then it was silent. Magnemite Level: 7 Attacks: Tackle, Supersonic, Thunder Shock Abilities: Magnet Pull, Sturdy, Analytic Hit By: Leer, Water Gun Used: Health: -- Chomper has gained 2 levels. He now knows Rage.

Chomper started jumping up and down excitedly when the Magnemite fainted. <I did it! I did it!> He turned to Kiki and grinned. He thought that had been a great battle.
Kiki chuckled at her Totodile's behavior. "Yes, you were awesome, Chomper." Now she had one more Pokemon to train. She took off both of their helmets, returned the water type to his Pokeball, and released her third Pokemon. A Lillipup appeared in a flash of light. "We're going to get some training done today, Cody." She quickly fastened the helmet to his head.
Training? Cody liked the sound of that. He did not understand the weird helmet, and he wondered if they would be training with new friends. He loved meeting other Pokemon. His tail wagged in anticipation.

The next pokemon generated had a bit more personality than was necessary of a programmed creature. Someone had fun inserting this bit of data into the VTM, it seemed. At any rate, the mankey jumped up and down impatiently in the manner a real mankey might. It even seemed sort of angry, though its programming held it back from making the first attack.
