OOC: This thread is for Faith and Sawyer's battle, and it occurs second in roleplay time. Faith should post first. She also has the first move. IC: There was a 15 minute break after the first battle. When the break was over, Principal Sash walked onto the battlefield with her microphone in her hand. "Thank you for waiting, folks. Now we have our second battle of the day. Please welcome Faith from Hoenn and Sawyer from Unova!" She smiled as she took her seat. |

Faith proudly walked out onto the battlefield. She could not believe she was actually in the tournament. This was going to be a lot of fun and great experience for her! She decided to use her partner in her first battle. "It's time to shine, Willy!" Her Bidoof appeared before her and took a battle stance. They had to work hard if they wanted him to evolve. Sawyer was glad she had moved onto the next round of the tournament, but she was disappoitned in the way it had happened. She wondered what had been going on with her opponent when he had suddenly quit. That had been no fun. Well, now she was having a real battle. Faith was her friend, and she knew she would put up a good fight. "Hello," she greeted her as she walked onto the battlefield. She glanced at the Bidoof for a second before making up her own mind. "Hi!" Faith said brightly to her friend. This was going to be good. Now it was time to battle! She was slightly worried about the Skiddo, but at least her Bidoof was not a water type yet. They were going to do great. "Start off with a Tackle!"
<Hello!> Willy greeted the Skiddo, who seemed quite friendly and energetic. He bet this would be a fun battle. He would work hard to win! He ran forward on his paws, headed for the other Pokemon. He would not stop until he hit the Skiddo or his attack was thwarted. Sawyer was glad that Prancer looked ready to battle. She was relying on his speed to get through to the end. "Dodge it and use your own Tackle!" She watched to see how quickly he could perform these tasks. She was interested in the Bidoof would react as well.
<Hi!> Prancer said to the Bidoof. <This will be great!> He was glad his opponent seemed friendly. It was much better if both sides had a lot of fun when battling. He walked in place while he waited for a command. As soon as he was told to dodge, he took off running. Faith was impressed with the Skiddo's speed. She would have to think of something to counteract that. "Use Acqua Tail and Growl!" Though a water attack would not do much damage, she wanted to ensure she had a hit. She only hoped it worked.
Willy skidded to a halt when he ran into nothing. He looked around to search for the Skiddo. He spotted him just as he was about to hit him. The Bidoof was knocked off his feet, but he was quick to act. He turned his body so his tail was facing his opponent. Water formed around it, and he tried to attack while growling. Sawyer had not expected the Bidoof to know a water type move yet. Her Skiddo was resistant to water type moves, but the attack was still powerful enough to do a good amount of damage. It was time to strike back. "Now Growth and Vine Whip!" That should counteract the Growl.
Prancer was surprised by the watery tail that struck him. His legs collapsed under him, and he fell to the ground. <Hey!> The Growl caused him to shiver, but he managed to get back up. <You're getting it now!> He relaxed and let the plants around his body grow to increase his strength. Then he whipped out his vines and tried to hit the Bidoof with them. Faith was glad to see that the Aqua Tail had still done a good amount of damage. She would have to use it again in this battle. She watched the Skiddo grow in interest. Grass Pokemon were quite fascinating. She saw her Bidoof would have little time to dodge, so she called out, "Defense Curl and then Tackle!"
Willy enjoyed using his water attack. It made his tail feel really good! He looked at the Skiddo curiously. <Why are you growing> That must increase his power or something. He curled into a ball and felt vines whack him. Oh! He uncurled and narrowed his eyes at the Skiddo. Then he took off running, planning to Tackle him. Sawyer watched the Bidoof move quickly. He was too close to Prancer for the Skiddo to be able to dodge easily. She knew exactly what to do about that. "Prancer, run right into the Tackle with a Tackle of your own!" He might get more damage that way, but at least the same was true of their opponent.
Prancer skipped around after withdrawing his vines. That was great! He still liked running more, though. He was glad for the command to Tackle. He ran straight at the Bidoof. <Here I come!> The two of them would collide if they both kept going. Faith did not have time to stop the two Tackles from colliding. At least they had both taken damage that way. She decided to go back to her stronger attack. "Now Aqua Tail!" She wanted to act quickly so the Skiddo wouldn't have time to dodge. He was a fast one!
Willy widened his eyes in surprise when he saw the Skiddo running right back at him. He did not slow before the two of them ran heads. He fell to the ground with a thus. Now his head really hurt! He stood up slowly and took a deep breath. He moved his tail back and forth until it was surrounded by water. Then he ran forward to attack the grass type with it. Uh oh. Sawyer did not want another Aqua Tail to hit. Then she got an idea. "Prancer, skop!" She smirked at the word she had come up with to describe his hopping and skipping. If he was having fun, he would be more likely to dodge. "Now Vine Whip!" She was pleased with her plan.
Prancer became excited at the command to skop. He loved skoppin! He skopped all the way around the Bidoof. <Weeeee!> Running around was so much fun! Then he stopped and shot out his vines, planning to strike the other Pokemon with them. Faith's brain moved quickly as she tried to think of a strategy to win the battle. The vines gave her an idea, and she called out: "Catch those vines in your teeth! Then hold on as you use Aqua Tail!" This could easily backfire, but sometimes risks were needed to win a battle.
Willy growled in frustration when his attack missed. he needed to get that Skiddo once and for all! He kept his eyes on the vines as the came towards him. At the last second. he jumped forward and caught the vines in his large teeth. Then he ran towards the grass type woth his watery tail to attempt another Aqua Tail attack. Sawyer's eyes widened in shock when the Bidoof managed to grab hold of Prancer's vines. He certainly had strong teeth. "Shake him loose!" She said. But it was no use.She watched in frustration as the Pokemon collided. Well, if that was the way Faith wanted to play... "Throw him and use Vine Whip!"
Prancer winced when he felt teeth on his vines. <Hey, that hurts!> He tried to move them to break free, but the Bidoof had already closed in on him. The Aqua Tail hit him in the face. He reacted by shaking his vines. Then he used his strength to pick up the Bidoof if he was still holding on and slam him against the ground. Either way, he would use his vines for another Vine Whip. Faith had a feeling this might happen. Oh well. She had given it her best, and she still had a chance to win. "Willy, use Growl and Tackle!" This has worked well in the past, so she hoped it would not fail her now. She could see that the battle was quickly coming to a close.
Willy's eyes widened when he was suddenly lifted into the air. <Hey!> he cried. There was nothing he could do to stop what happened next. He cringed as he was flung against the ground. A second later, he felt vines hit him. He growled as he got to his feet. <You'll pay for that!> He started running towards the Skiddo for a Tackle. Sawyer was pleased with the results of her plan. The battle was winding down, and anyone could still win. She had to be careful. "Use Tackle as well!" she called. It had worked well last time, so she was hoping it would do the same now. It was not like she had much variety in attacks.
Skiddo put his vines back inside his body. That was quite exciting! Uh oh, it looked like the Bidoof was mad. He shivered when he growled at him. That was not very nice. It took him a second to move his legs. Then he was charging at the Bidoof, waiting for their tackles to collide.
