Kai was walking in the area alongside his houndor Fallon. He'd decided that, although Fallon was a low level, that he wanted to capture a new pokemon and increase his team. It needed to be a strong and spirited pokemon, otherwise he felt that there was no point.
He moved off the pathway wand began searching through the shrubbery. "We'll find one, don't panic Fallon."
Fallon wasn't the one who was nervous...

A Buneary hopped through the forest, enjoying time by himself. His ears perked up and caught some noise. It sound like a trainer and a Houndour. He could have some fun with them! He hopped towards the noise, stopping in the path in front of the visitors. <Hello!> he said to them. <Do you want to play catch? I bet I can outrun both of you. If you catch me, I'll let you battle.> They probably couldn't catch him and beat him in a battle, so he was safe.  Gender: Male Level: 6 |

Kai felt a tug on his pant leg and looked down to see Fallon pulling on it. From the look in the pokemon's eye, it wanted to race and battle the buneary. He grinned and nodded to the pokemon.
"Alrighty then. You're on, little Buneary!"
Fallon looked at the Buneary with a similar expression to his trainer. <You're on.>

The Buneary hopped from one foot to the other to keep moving. He grinned when the other accepted his proposal. <Great!> She had beat all the Houndour that lived in the cave in the past. Would tame Houndour be much different? Of course they would. They would be much slower. Trainers made them soft. He start hopping forward as fast as his large feet would carry him. When he came to a fork in the road, he used his ears to determine that he should go through the right tunnel. <Don't get lose!> Gender: Male Level: 6 |

Fallon took off with a start. He was pacing himself, but still moving at a reasonable pace. He had to win, if not for himself then for Kai. Plus, if he won he could challenge the Buneary and maybe make a new friend.
Kai was making his best efforts to keep up, but was having a large amount of difficulty. "Darn it."

The Buneary looked over his shoulder to make sure the Houndour was still behind him. Hehe... The silly human could not keep up. Oh well. He was not racing him anyway. He took a left at the next fork. Light could be seen at the end of the tunnel. The Buneary knew this area well. Up ahead, there would be a wide, circular area. In the middle was a pile of three rocks getting small as they got higher, like a snowman. There was a hole in the ceiling that poured light into the area. <Whoever touches the rock structure first wins!> he said as the rocks in question came into view. The other Pokemon was doing a good job so far, but the normal type would win! Gender: Male Level: 6 |

When the buneary said that first to touch the rock wins, Fallon sped up as fast as it could, reaching par with the opposing pokemon. Kai, on the other hand, had given up running and was jumping from tree branches which, in his opinion, was much easier.

The Buneary looked over his shoulder again to see the Houndour catch up to him. Uh oh! He had to hope faster now. He did not want to lose to a dog! He turned his head forward just in time to see a tiny pebble on the ground. His eyes widened as he tripped over the pebble and fell on his face. He muttered under his breath as he quickly got back up. He started hopping again, hoping he could regain the lead. There were only a couple of yards left. Gender: Male Level: 6 |

Fallon had overtaken the Buneary when it tripped over and it refused to slow down. It could see the rock ahead and ran even faster to get to it. Four legs was beginning to seem like a disadvantage as Fallon was becoming tired. He still refused to slow down, however.

The Buneary watched in despair as the Houndour reached the rock formation before her. She hopped up to him and stood near him. <Well, it looks like you won.> She would have won for sure if she had not tripped. Oh well. Mistakes happened. She would beat the next Pokemon she challenged! She had to keep her promise now. She waited for the Houndour's trainer to show up. Geeze, he was such a slowpoke! Gender: Male Level: 6 |

Drakan had been sleeping behind the rock, but looked over just in ti e to see the two pokemon. He couldn't see Kai though. <Can I watch your battle?> he asked, as he started to stand up.

Kai jumped out of the tree and fell flat on his face. Now, that was painful. He got up and rubbed his forehead just before he hugged Fallon. "Good on ya, man!"Fallon was feeling like he'd be able to do anything! He had won the race against the Buneary and he was ready. He wriggled out of Kai's grip and faced the brown pokemon. <Bring it on.> He then turned to the other larger pokemon. <You can watch if you want. But I'm going to win this.>Kai nodded to Fallon and they both got ready to battle. They were going to win this. Kai had had enough of backseat driving, letting Rika do everything. The Buneary laughed as the human tripped. Trainers could be so funny sometimes. He hoped he knew what he was doing. He looked at the Houndour and nodded. <Alright.> Since the dark and fire type was not making a move, he figured he might as well go first. He hoped towards his new opponent, planning on using Pound with his ears when he got close. Seeing it's opponent move, Fallon got into a preparation stance and waited for Kai's command. Kai went through his options quickly and decided on one. "Jumps back and use Dark Pulse!" Fallon nodded, but was a bit late. He was thrown backwards slightly by the Buneary's attack. He recovered quickly - however - and used Dark Pulse like his trainer commanded. The Buneary smirked when his attack hit. He was on target like always! Unfortunately, the counter-attack came too quick for him. he hurriedly curled into a ball to reduce the damage. He cringed at the impact, but it was way too early to give up now. <Ha!> he cried as he jumped up. Then he was off hopping again for another attempt at a Pound attack.
