Zoey hurried to her first class that day, Battling Techniques. It was the fourth and last class that taught her how to battle her best. She was late because she had been added to the class a little late. In her arms was Meowthers, her Meowth. She loved his company and wanted a chance to bond with him through battling. When she arrived to the classroom, she saw that everyone had already started practicing. Her eyes scanned the room until she saw only one other person without a battling partner: Paul. She had not spoken much to him before, but she had silently witnessed his interactions with others. He was not too friendly at all, to people or his Pokemon. She timidly walked up to him and said, "Do you want to battle?" She clutched Meowthers closer to her.

Gary ignored Paul as he entered the room. If he battled him, he wanted it to be a real battle. He remembered the last time they had battled during class. He shook the thoughts away as he walked over to Kiki. "Are you up for some practice?" he said with a grin. It was always nice to battle with her. Stephanie smiled lazily as he stood by his side. |

Kiki smiled at Gary. Why did it seem like the two of them were always up against each other? "Sure. Ready, Spud?" The Bulbasaur nodded. The girl moved the desks aside so they would have room to battle. She hoped this would be a good experience. Nate helped Sawyer move all of the desks out of the way. Finally, they were ready to battle. "Thanks." He would need to think hard to beat that fire type. "Estel, start off with Tackle!"
The Chikorita smirked as he looked at the Tepig. He was not fighting a beautiful lady, but this would have to do. <I do not plan to lose even if this is just practice!> With that, he charged at his opponent. Gary smirked. Great. He knew he did not have to hold back with her, so he decided to go first. He got into place and then issued his first order. "Stephan, use Tackle!"
Stephan smiled at the Bulbasaur. <Hello. Good luck.> He seemed like a nice Bulbasaur. This would be a fun exercise. Well, time to battle. He immediately took a battle stance. Sawyer enjoyed the challenge of battling in a classroom. For one, it was very had to dodge her opponent's attacks. Luckily, she did have the type advantage. "Milton, use Ember!" She wondered if Nate could get out of that.
Milton smiled at Estel. <Ok. Good luck with that.> He did not really care her won or lose. He was just going to try his best! There was no way for him to move as the Chikorita came at him. He shook the odd feeling off and readied himself for his own move. He faced his opponent and shot out fire balls from his snout. Kiki hoped she would enjoy this battle. She knew Gary would make it intense. She wondered if his Cyndaquil knew any fire type moves yet. Well, she would find out soon. "Spud, use Tackle as well!"
Spud smiled amiably. <Hi. Thanks. You too.> He was glad his opponent was nice. That always made battles better. He was too slow to move out of the way of the Tackle, especially with all the desks around. Once he had a chance, he ran forward for his own Tackle attack. Nate had been expecting to be at a disadvantage, but he did not take into consideration how difficult it would be to battle in a classroom. Oh well. This was all for practice anyway. "Estel, Growl and then Razor Leaf!"
Estel grit his teeth as he was struck by the fire balls. <Not bad!> He hated fire, but he saw no way to avoid it. He growled, hoping to scare his opponent. Then he released his sharp leaves. Gary wished that is Pokemon knew a fire type move. Then he could end this battle easily. As it was, he had to work slowly. "Stephan, Leer and Tackle!" Those were the only moves he knew so far.
Stephan was glad that his opponent was nice. He always liked to be friends with the Pokemon he battled afterwards. This was not life or death, after all. He rolled over when he was struck by the Tackle. He leered at the Bulbasaur and then ran to Tackle him himself. Sawyer watched the leaves as they struck her Pokemon. They certainly were making a mess in the classroom. "Milton, Ember and then Tail Whip!"
Milton grinned when his attack it its mark. That was fun! His eyes widened as leaves flew at him. There was nothing he could do to avoid them. Narrowing his eyes, he blew out his fire again. Kiki knew she was going to enjoy this class. She wondered what type of techniques they were going to learn. After Gary's last move, she knew she had to do something to counteract it. "Growl and Tackle!" Yes, that would do nicely.
Spud watched the Cyndaquil run towards him. He knew he was too clumsy to move out of the way, so he simply endured the hit. He attempted to growl at his opponent, but he did not sound very fierce. Nate worried that he could not overcome type in this battle. He wondered if this was something Miss Riverton would cover in the class. At least it was good practice. "Now Growl and Tackle!"
Estel refused to give up. He shook his head when his leaf caught on fire. <This isn't over yet!> He growled menacingly. Then he dashed forward, using all of his speed to go into a Tackle. Gary wondered how long this would take. Then he wondered if they would be able to leave when they were finished. Finally, he figured he better focus back on the battle. "Tackle!"

Sawyer relaxed as the battle progressed. Her opponent seemed unable to dodge, so she saw no reason to change her fire strategy. "Ember, once more!"
Milton snorted as he was struck by the Chikorita. He was glad that this move did not do more damage to him. He quickly moved away from his opponent.
