OOC: This thread is for Kiki and Gary's battle, and it occurs second in roleplay time. Kiki should post first. She also has the first move. IC: After the first battle, Principal Sash returned to the stage. "Wasn't that exciting? Next up, we have Gary from Kanto and Kiki from Johto!" She returned to her seat, giddy with excitement. Whoever won would be facing someone from a different team. How awesome! |

Kiki was excited as she entered the Battle Area. She had another chance to prove herself at the end of the semester tournament! She would not let her team down. "I choose you, Chomper," she said, releasing the Totadile. She had been training with the water type recently, and they seemed to make a pretty good team. He hopped from foot to foot as he waited for their opponent to arrive. Gary was disappointed that his last opponent had run off on him. He hoped he had not scared hm too badly. he wondered if he would still be in the tournament if the battle had played out. He shook the thoughts away as he took his place opposite of Kiki. He had to focus on the present. He examined the Totodile for several minutes before deciding on his own Pokemon. "Shia, let's do it!" He released the Ekans in a flash of light. At least he knew Kiki would not bail on him. Kiki thought the Ekans looks tough. She knew it would be difficult to beat her, but she was up tot he job! "Chomper, start off with Water Gun!" She wanted to test the snake's speed without risking getting to close to her.
Chomper waved at the Ekans. <Hi! Let's have fun, okay?> She did not look so scary. He could totally do this! He was excited to begin using his water attacks, so his Water Gun came quickly out of his mouth. He tried to aim for the Ekans' head, hoping to catch her off guard. Gary felt his adrenaline pumping as the battle got started. he knew exactly what to do on his first move. He had not battled with his Ekans before, but he had observed her when he caught her and knew how to bring out her strengths. "Dodge and use Bite!"
Shia hissed at the Totodile. <Battles are not about fun.> This water type was silly. She would teach him a lesson! His petty water did not bother her. Her body darted left and right very quickly. Then she shot forward, her jaws wide so she could clamp them around the other Pokemon and hold on tightly. Kiki noted the speed of the Ekans. This was not going to be easy. Well, if Gary could use Bite, so could she! "Chomper, use Bite as well!" It was his favorite move, after all. She quickly thought of a plan. "Then Scary Face!"
Chomper's eyes widened when the Ekans dodged his attack. Where did she go? She was suddenly in front of him, biting down on his arm. He clenched his teeth from the pain. He had to get through this! he swiped at the Ekans' tail and attempted to bite it. Then he let go and made his face look as scary as possible. Gary raised his eyebrows. So, that girl thought she could use Bite too? Well, he had to admit it was kind of clever. Too bad he had some own tricks up his sleeve. "Shia, Glare and then Wrap!" Hopefully she was still quick enough to succeed.
Shia smirked when she felt her teeth sink into the Totodile's flesh. A second later, she felt her tail being bit. She let go of the Pokemon and cried out. His face made her freeze for a moment, but then she glared at him angrily. She used her tail to wrap around the water type and squeeze him. Kiki calmly assessed the current situation. It seemed like her Pokemon could still move. Plus, the two of them were close together due to the Wrap attack. This was her chance to strike. "Use Bite once more!" That was the most effective attack for now.
Chomper froze in place when he saw the Ekans glare at him. What a scary snake! He shivered involuntarily. Then he let out a squeak when he was squeezed three times. There had to be a way for him to get out of this! He turned his head and struggled to bite her again, hoping this would make her let him go. Gary already had a plan in mind. His Ekans may not be able to get away from the Totodile in time, but she could inflict some damage of her own. "Poison Sting!" Hopefully this would work as intended. He wanted to speed up the pace of the battle.
Shia hissed as she felt teeth bite into her skin again. She moved her tail and flung the water type away form her. While she did so, she spit out poisonous darts. She hoped she successfully poisoned him. That would teach that pest to mess with her! Kiki held her breath as the snake used its Poison Sting. Thankfully, it did not seem like her Pokemon was poisoned. Now it was time to implement her special strategy. "Chomper, use Rage!" She only hoped this worked.
Chomper let out a breath of relief when the Ekans released him. This was good. Suddenly, darts were thrown at him, so he covered his face with his arms to protect it. Luckily, not too much was done. He shook his body and then ran forward in a mad rage. Gary tried to think of a plan to stop Rage. Once a Pokemon started using Rage, it could not stop. That meant that Kiki would not have to call out an attack anymore That could be good or bad. "Use Wrap!" Hopefully this would stop him.
Shia eyed the Totodile coming towards her. She tried to move out of the way, but eh was struck in the side. She snarled as she spun to face the water type. There was no way she was losing this battle. She whipped out her tail and attempted to wrap it around her opponent. Kiki was satisfied with her current plan. She hoped that Gary had become unnerved. She was not going to let him succeed with his own plan. "Dodge that!" She let out a breath of relief when her Totodile was able to do so. Now his Rage would only grow stronger.
Chomper grinned as he struck the Ekans. He loved letting lose like this! He danced out of the way of the snake's tail. he knew he would be unstoppable now. His power grew as he relaxed into the Rage attack. He moved forward to strike a second time. "Dodge that!" Gary called out. But it was too late. He clenched his teeth in frustration. He had to come up with a better plan. His Ekans was tough, and he knew she could win this. "Poison Sting!" It would really help them out if their opponent was poisoned.
Shia tried to wrap her tail around the Totodile, but he slipped away. She hissed in frustration. <You can't evade me forever.> She started to move, but her opponent suddenly struck her. She glared at him. <It's time to pay!> She shot out her poisonous darts. Kiki remained quiet as she watched her Totodile attack the Ekans. She knew there was not much she could do once the snake used Poison Sting, so she held her breath and waited to see its effects. Chomper appeared slightly sick, so she assumed he had been poisoned. She was going to have to end this quickly. "Go on and attack!"
Chomper shook his head after ramming into the Ekans. Boy, that cleared things up! He blinked when he saw needles coming towards him. He started to run, but the sharp needles knocked him off his feet. He felt queasy as he stood up. Uh oh. He hoped this would not affect his performance. He growled as he sprung at his opponent. Gary smirked when he saw the Totodile weaken. Good. Rage was still in effect, but at least he had a good shot to win. If their opponent was poisoned, it was only matter of time before he fainted. He just hoped his own Pokemon could hold out until then. "Now Bite!"
Shia wiggled on the ground, watching her pray. Her poison was taking effect, and now she just had to finish the job. She hissed when she was struck once more. She really hard to do something about this pest. She leapt forward with her fangs open wide.
