Nate smiled slightly at Kiki's compliment. "Thanks." He was proud of his Charmander. They were just going to have to work a little harder. He nodded at the Totodile that appeared, recognizing him. "Hello, Chomper." He thought about using Chelsea against him, but a type advantage had not worked last time, so he would try something else. He took out Watcher's Pokeball and released him. "Hey, buddy. Use Baby-Doll Eyes and Swift."
<Hi,> Watcher said, smiling at Chomper.They were going to battle? Cool! He tried to make his eyes look as cute as possible to lower Chomper's attack stats. Then he spun around and released sharp darts from his tail. He had practiced making the move look as elegant as possible.

Kiki recognized the Eevee immediately, and she gave him a small smile. "Hello, Watcher." She was interested to see what he could do in a contest battle. He seemed to be off to a good start. "Alright, Chomper, dodge and use Water Gun!" They were not close enough to try anything else.
<Hi,> Chomper said brightly. He remembered Watcher, and he liked him. He hoped they could be good friends. Right now, though, they had to battle. He quickly jumped out of the way of the Swift attack. Then he turned and blasted a stream of water in the direction of the Eevee. He just loved this attack! He hoped it would hit its mark.

Nate shrugged off the miss. They would get them next time. He thought quickly as he heard Kiki's next order. "Jump in the air and spin while using Tail Whip and then Swift!" This combination had worked in their last battle. He hoped it would prove useful right now.
Watcher understood the order and complied. He jumped into the air, missing the water. He wagged his tail while he did a flip in the air. Then, as he straitened out again, he shot his swift at the Totodile. He sailed to the ground, lightly landing on his feet. Lastly, he struck a confident pose.

Kiki was surprised when the Eevee took to the air. It was a pretty cool move, actually. "Nice combination," she said to Nate. She bet it would help him in a Pokemon contest. She needed to think of something like that. "Chomper, let's try to use Leer and then Rage." Now that his health was down a bit, Rage would be a stronger attack than it would have been in the past.
Chomper was also impressed by Watcher's displayed. <Yeah, cool,> he said in a agreement. He was not able to dodge the Swift, and he skidded back a bit. He gave his trainer a reassuring look. <I'm fine.> Now was the time to strike back. He gave his opponent a menacing Leer. Then he ran forward as if he was crazy in order to use his Rage attack.

Nate knew Rage was a tricky move. The more Chomper's energy was drained, the stronger the attack would be. Luckily, it did not seem to do too much damage this time. They would have to watch out for it better later. "Alright, Watcher, use Sand Attack and then run around and use Tackle." They had been practicing their running as well. Watcher could look elegant if he moved his tail the right way.
Chomper was too quick for the Eevee to dodge. He felt a little dizzy as he stood back up, but he was fine. Before the Totodile had a chance to move, she shot sand and dirt in his eyes. While he was distracted, he ran around the other Pokemon, letting his tail whip back and forth in the wind. Watcher stopped when he was behind Chomper and ran towards him to Tackle him.

That Eevee was quick. Kiki decided that she should stick with Chomper's best attack. She was not sure how it would look in a contest battle, but right now she wanted to win. Maybe she could do something cool with his water later. "Use Rage again!" She hoped it would be more effective this time.
Chomper closed his eyes when sand flew into them. Now he couldn't see very well! He let out a small "oof" as he was hit by the Tackle. He tried to shake the sand away as he stood up, but it was no use. He could kind of see where Watcher stood, so he ran forward to attack him with Rage again. He knew he bound to be a bit off because of the Sand Attack, but there was nothing else he could do.

"Dodge it!" Nate shouted. He was pleased when the Sand Attack seemed to work, for Watcher was able to get out of the way of the Rage attack. They were doing well so far. "Now do a flip and use Swift!" He liked how agile and flexible the Eevee was. He hoped he would stay that way when he evolved.
Watcher jumped to the left, avoiding the Rage. Then he turned towards the Totodile and leapt in the air again. As he sailed over his opponent's head, he did a flip while using Swift. He landed neatly on his feat again. Boy, was that fun!

It was not looking good for Chomper. The Eevee need to take some damage or else they would lose. The trainer decided to focus on letting out as much power as possible. This was going to be all or nothing. "It's alright, Chomper. Use Leer and Rage!" Hopefully this would work.
Chomper skidded to a halt when his attack missed. The Swift sent him flying to the ground. At least he could see better when he stood up. He took a deep breath before using Leer. Then he ran after Watcher again to attempt Rage. He would not miss this time!

It looked like it would not take much more for the Totodile to go down. That being said, that did not mean it was time for Nate to let his guard down. Rage was still going to be a problem. If it hit one more time, Watcher would be through. "Jump and use Tackle!" This was sort of risky, but sometimes boldness was required in battles.
The Rage attack struck a huge blow to Watcher. He slowly got up on his feet. <Nice job,> he said to the Totodile. This was almost over. He darted away from his opponent. Then he took a running start towards Chomper and leapt into the air. He aimed so that he would hit him with a Tackle when he came down.

Chomper let out a breath of relief when his attack hit. Unfortunately, he was too weak to dodge the air Tackle. He crashed to the ground and promptly fainted.
Kiki let out a small gasp as she observed the scene. "I'm sorry, Chomper. You did well." She took out his Pokeball and returned him. Then she looked at Nate and gave him a small smile. "Your jumping moves are really cool. You've trained your Eevee well." He would do well in a contest battle, no doubt. Now they had one more round for their own battle to decide the victor.

Chomper is unable to battle. Watcher is the winner. He has gained three levels. He now knows Quick Attack. Chomper has gained one level. Nate has earned 20 points for Team Sinnoh! |

Watcher sat down and swished his tail. <Yay, we won,> he said tiredly. That had been fun, and he had learned a lot.
"Great work, Watcher," Nate said before returning him to his Pokeball. He smiled at Kiki. "Thank you. We've been working hard on those moves." He took out a third Pokeball. "It's your turn, Chelsea!"
A Shinx appeared before him. She blinked up at Kiki. <Is it time to battle?> If so, she was up to the challenge. Battling a real Pokemon was going to be better than battling against those virtual Pokemon. She could not wait to get started!

Kiki had not seen the Shinx before. It looked pretty cute. She wondered if she knew any electric moves yet. "Hello, Chelsea," she said, repeated in her name. She knew just who she was going to use next. "Come on out, Cody!" She took out the Lillipup's Pokeball and released him. "Use Leer and Tackle!" It was time to start off strong.
Cody wagged his tail happily when he saw the Shinx. This Pokemon was real, right? <Hi!> he said cheerfully. Well, he supposed to was time to battle. He mustered up his best Leer. Then he ran straight for the Shinx. <Here I come!> His tongue hung out of his mouth as he ran.

Nate had never seen Kiki's Pokemon before either. He did think Lillipup were pretty cool, though. This one looked friendly. "Hey there, little guy." He turned to his Shinx. "You use Leer and Tackle too!" Those were really the only attacks they knew right now. Charge would not do much until she learned an electric attack.
<Hi,> Chelsea said to Kiki. She nodded at the Lillipup. <Hey there.> She wanted to be polite, but she had no time for pleasantries right now. It was time to battle! She used Leer as Cody ran towards her. Then she sped up to meet him. The attacks collided, and Cody's Tackle sent her flying back. Wow, that had hurt.

Wow, that Shinx was pretty bold. She had intercepted Cody's attack, causing both of them to be harmed. This was going to be interesting. Time to change it up a bit. "Cody, use Bite!" This was a stronger attack, so hopefully it would be more effective.
Cody did not stop running when he saw the Shinx charging at him in return. They ran into each other, and the Lillipup flew back from the force of the combined attacks. He felt dizzy as he got up. <Wow, good job.> He wondered if she knew any other attacks. He had finally learned Bite! He ran for the Shinx again, opening his mouth at the last second to use Bite.
