Kiki could hardly believe the day had finally arrived. After her battle with Nate, her Pokemon had enough experience for her to challenge the first battle leader/ She had a great strategy to win, and she was sure to not fail. Alice was her strongest Pokemon, so she would save her for last. There was a smile on her face as she entered the room where Battle Leader Jenna accepted challenges. "Hello?" she said in a loud voice, looking around. "Jenna? I'm here for a battle!" She hoped she was around to accept her challenge. Now that she was ready, she did not ant to wait any longer. It was time to get this first battle leader out of the way! |

Jenna the battle leader smiled at the sound of the door opening and closing. Usually, that meant she had a challenger. She looked at her Beedrill, who she had been training with. It was always important to be in tip top shape as battle leader! Recently, she had encountered a couple of students and battled them. They were pretty good battlers, and their Pokemon were strong. Realizing that, she did not want to be an easy battle leader for them. They had to work for their victory against her! Though she wanted them to succeed, she did like to be able to defeat a student because defeat really taught the student more than winning ever could. It was always rewarding as well as inspiring to see students learn something from battling her. It seemed to her that most students saw battling her as a means to an end instead of something to learn from, which saddened her.
She hoped she would be able to teach something to this new challenger. "Are you ready for a battle, Sting?" she asked her Beedrill. When he nodded with a determined look in his eyes, she smiled and headed over to the newcomer. Sting followed just behind her. "Hello and welcome," she said warmly to the student. "My name is Jenna. And you are?" Once she gave her name, she continued. "So, you're here for a battle? Alright. Come with me." She turned around and walked over to the battle arena in the room. It was a grassy field that bug Pokemon took comfort in.
She motioned for the girl to stay at the end while she continued to walk over to the other end. There, she turned around to face her again. "This will be a three on three battle. I can't substitute any Pokemon, but feel free to do so yourself. If you are able to defeat three of my Pokemon, you win." She paused to make sure she understood. "You may have the honor of the first move." Sting flew past Jenna to take a battle stance in the middle of the field. Kiki smiled slightly when Jenna approached. She seemed friendly enough. She hoped this would be a good battle. "My name is Kiki Jones. Thank you for accepting my challenge." She followed her to the battle area, which she found pretty cool. She nodded when the rules were explained. "Thank you." Hmm... A Beedrill. She knew who she was going to choose. "You're first, Chomper." She smiled when the Totodile appeared. "Use Leer and Water Gun!" The other Pokemon could fly, but at least they would not have to rely on leaping in the air to make an attack.
Chomper grinned excitedly. He was going to battle! He stared at the Beedrill curiously. He had never seen that Pokemon before. Oh well. He gave him his most menacing Leer. He hoped that would work! Then he opened his mouth and shot out his water at the Beedrill. He loved using his water!

Jenna looked curiously at the Tododile. That was a good choice, given the water gun attack he could use to easily shoot up at a flying Pokemon. However, her Beedrill could be fast in dodging. She saw the Tododile give Sting a sharp Leer, which would not be good. "Come on, Sting, it's alright. Dodge it!" She smiled when he was able to do just that. "Alright, now use Fury Attack!" Regrettably, that was his only attack move, but she would never let her opponent know that. Plus, she had learned how to be creative with her sole attack with him.
Sting shivered at the Leer. The voice of his trainer, though, caused him to shake it off. He did his best to fly to the side and avoid the water coming at him, and he was successful. At his trainer's words, he flew down to meet the Tododile and, still floating in the air, began to jab him with his pointy hands repeatedly. Kiki was impressed with the Beedrill's speed. Of course, what else should she expect from a battle leader? This was going to be tough. the good thing about getting hit was that they were in close range for an attack themselves. "Ok, Chomper, use Scratch!" This was their best shot at using that attack. She hoped it would be a successful.
Chomper was surprised when his attack missed. Maybe he needed to work on his aim. He was too distracted with his own thoughts to notice the Beedrill flying at him. <Aah!> he cried when he was struck. He found his trainer's idea to be a good one. <Back off!> He attempted to Scratch the Beedrill to both harm him and stop his own attack.

Jenna liked how Kiki took advantage of the closeness between the two Pokemon when Sting came down to attack Chomper. It was always important to be aware of your opportunities in battle because if you don't catch it in time, it disappears. "Shake it off, Sting," she said when her Beedrill got scratched. He was tough, so she knew he would be able to handle it. "Use Fury Attack from behind." They had practiced this move, so she knew he would understand what she wanted him to do.
Sting cried out as he was scratched, but he stayed where he was and would not flee. He too off to the air above the Tododile again once the attack was over and his trainer commanded him to do so. As quick as he could he flew back down but went down behind Chomper. From there, he attempted to jab at him again with his hands. Kiki was impressed with Jenna's strategy. She sure seemed to know what she was going. Chomper was going to have to watch out. "Alright, use Leer and Water Gun!" She wanted to try out Rage, but she did not think now was the right time. They would wait for the perfect opportunity when the Beedrill was close enough to be hit.
Chomper did not understand it when the Beedrill suddenly disappeared. At least his own attack had hit. He cried out in shock and pain when he was hit in the back. Sting got in a couple more swipes this time. The Totodile growled as he spun around. He used Leer to lower the bug's defense. Then he attempted another Water Gun. This one better hit. He needed to do some good damage if he wanted to win.

Jenna nodded in satisfaction as Sting's attack hit. She wondered if Kiki and her Tododile would be able to learn from that and prevent it from happening again. She couldn't wait to see. "Dodge it, Sting!" she called when she saw the beginnings of another Water Gun. Sting, however, was not able to shake off the Leer as well this time and get out of the way. That was fine. She liked that combination of attacks; it was quite affective. "Hang in there. Use Side Fury Attack." One thing she had learned from battling with her Beedrill was that it was never good to continuously attack in the exact same way in a row. You had to keep your opponent guessing.
Sting flinched at the Leer, not liking it. When his trainer told him to dodge the water that was flying towards him, he attempted to move in his mind, but it would not reach his body. The force of the water pushed him backwards. When it was gone, he flew forward and down to the side of Chomper. From there, he struck out his hands again repeatedly. Kiki nodded in approval when Chomper's water gun hit this time. They were doing pretty well. Now they had to take care of that pesky Fury Attack. An idea quickly formed in her mind. "Chomper, ump to the side and then use your tail to get into the air and use Scratch!" She wondered if it would work. They had never tried anything like this before. If it was successful, she bet it would be useful in a contest.
Chomper did a little dance when his Water Gun hit. Yes! He was getting good at this game! He let out a small gasp when the Beedrill was suddenly by his side. He was able to listen to his trainer, though, and leapt to the side. He used his tail as a springboard to get a little bit in the air. As he came down, he held out both claws to Scratch his opponent.

Jenna was impressed by Kiki's quick thinking. The use of Chomper's tail really helped him get to her Pokemon in the air. She was unable to stop it from happening, so she just said, "It's alright. Sting. Let's use Fury Attack quickly!" She watched as her Beedrill shook off the scratch and went back to attacking. She was proud of him. This battle was becoming very interesting; she couldn't wait to see what happened next. Would this student have any more tricks?
Sting blinked when he found he was striking air. Where did the little Tododile go? Then he was getting scratched again from the air. The Tododile could fly? Since when was that possible? He looked at Chomper with wide eyes, very confused and a bit afraid. His trainer told him to attack again, though, so he shot out his hands once more. He wondered what else the flying Tododile would do. Kiki nodded in approval when their combination worked. This was going to be useful. Chomper had taken some damage now, so Rage could be a good attack to use. Now that they knew how to get tot he Beedrill, it may not be too difficult. "Jump straight at him and use Rage!" The Totodile would likely get hit by Fury Attack, but sometimes that was the price to pay for striking a stronger attack of their own.
Chomper grinned at the Beedrill's confusion. Yes, he could fly! It felt good too. He wanted to try it again. he put on a brave face when his trainer told him to strike the head-on. He could do this! He used his tail to get into the air a little. He was struck by Fury Attack, but he moved his body violently for a Rage attack. He hoped it would be worth it. He needed to win this one for KikIi!

Jenna noted the trainer was using Chomper's tail again. The Tododile was also very brave to go right into the Fury Attack like that. Yes, this was a good battle so far. She saw Rage push her Beedrill back until he fell onto the grass, causing him more damage than the other attacks. He looked like he was about ready to faint. "Hang on, Sting! Let's give it one more go with Fury Attack!" She smiled when he hung on and did as she said.
Sting flew back at the force of the Rage. He fell down on the ground. He really wanted to stay there and be called back into his Pokeball, but he heard his trainer. Once more. He slowly go back up on his feet and faced the Tododile. He was not sure if his attack would work at all, but he was giving it his all. Floating in the air just barely, he moved towards Chomper to attack him again. Kiki was impressed by the persistence of the battle leader and her Beedrill. They really were quite good. When Chomper got hit again, she knew she had to make her next move count. "Alright, Chomper, use Water Gun!" It was the attack that was most likely to hit, and it did not seem that Sting had much energy left. She hoped the bug type would be proud of the way he had fought. She just wanted her Totodile to fight a little harder.
Chomper looked around for the Beedrill. When he spotted him, it was too late to dodge. However, after being struck once, he managed to jump to the side to avoid further damage. he let out a sigh of relief. That was close. Now it was his turn to strike! He turned to face Sting with a confident look on his face. He made sure to aim correctly, and then he let out his best Water Gun. This was for the win!

Sting had no time to dodge the oncoming stream off water. He flew back from the force of the attack, which drained the last of his energy. He fell to the ground near his trainer's feet, defeated.
"Good work, Sting,"[ Jenna said, taking out his Pokeball and returning him. "You fought well." She smiled at Kiki. She was impressed with the unique way in which she battled. This was fun. "Your Totodile is strong. Let's see how you handle my next Pokemon." She tossed a Pokeball in the air and a Paras appeared. "June, start off with Poisonpowder!" She wanted to see how her challenger would handle that.
June put on a determined face. She loved going up against challengers. It was a good chance to test her strength and power. <Get ready,> she said to Chomper. She scurried forward until she was close enough to attack. Then she sent a powder of dust hurling at her opponent. She hoped that would do the trick. He now knows Bite and Scary Face.
Kiki has earned 45 points for Team Johto!OOC: Sammy, claim this to take it over. It's been a month, so I'm allowed to mod it. I just wanted to get it finished before the tournament so Johto can get the points. |

A grin spread across Kiki's face when the Beedrill fainted. "You did it, Chomper!" she said excitedly. She was proud of how her Pokemon had performed. Now they just had two more to go. She decided to stick with her Totodile. Checking her Pokedex, she saw he had learned two more moves. Now they were up against a Paras. She hoped she would not poison Chomper. There was no way to dodge. "You can do this. Use Bite!" She was glad he had learned another strong attack. She was sure it would be useful someday.
When Chomper saw that he had won, he started to dance. <Yay!> He looked back at his trainer and grinned at her. <Thanks.> A serious look crossed his face when his next opponent appeared. A Paras. It was time for round two. He coughed as he breathed in the poisonpowder. Unfortunately, he could feel it poisoning his body. Oh well. He was just going to have to get in as many attacks as he could before he passed out. He ran straight for the Paras. When he got close, he opened his jaws wide to Bite her.
