Alice's vines did not hit the Heracross, but she was not dismayed. She was just going to have to try harder the next time. She tried to dodge, but the other Pokemon was too quick for her. She fell to the ground but was able to get up quickly. Suddenly, she began to glow, and she felt her whole body changing.
Kiki was about to call out an attack, but then she saw her Pokemon glowing. She let out a small gasp. Alice was evolving! A wide grin spread across her face. She had not yet had one of her Pokemon evolve. This was so exciting!

Alice grew until she had become a Bayleef.
Alice has evolved into a Bayleef!

"Way to go, Alice!" Kiki said, still grinning. "Now use Razor Leaf!" She could not wait to see how much stronger she had become. They were going to win this!
Alice felt happy and energetic. She had evolved! She glanced back at Kiki and nodded. All of their training had paid off. Now it was time to win. She turned to the Heracross and shot out her sharp leaves at him. He was the one going down.

Jenna was surprised when Alice evolved. That did not happen often in the middle of battle. It was an interesting twist. "Nice," she said. But they were still going to have to work hard to win. They were not giving in yet. "Timtom, use Horn Attack!" It was time to see how powerful the new Bayleef was.
Timtom was surprised as well. Now his opponent was a lot bigger and stronger. This was going to be tough. Before he could decide what to do, he was struck by the leaves. Wincing, he ran forward for his own attack. He still wanted to win. Kiki could see the attack coming. She wondered how much Alice's speed has increased. There was only one way to find out. "Dodge and use Tackle!" She grew excited as she watched the battle. Her adventure at the academy was going along great! She wondered what else was in store for her in the future.
Alice jumped out of the way of the Horn Attack. That was much easier than when she had been a Chikorita! Her evolution was going to be great. She smirked slightly at the Heracross. Time to attack. He was still close to her, so she had an easy time running right at him.

Not bad. Alice was quick after all. Jenna knew they were going to have to do something about that if they wanted to get an attack in. "It's alright, Timtom. Use Leer and Ariel Ace." That combination should do it.
Timtom skidded to a halt when his attack missed. When he turned around, he was immediately tackled by the Bayleef. He let out a small "oof" as he fell to the ground. he glared at Alice as he stood back up, attempting to give her a menacing Leer. Then he got ready for Ariel Ace. Kiki clenched her teeth as she saw her Pokemon hit hard. Jenna was no pushover. There was one move they had not tried in battle much that could be effective if it worked. At this point, it was worth a try. "We're going to win this, Alice. Now use Poison Powder!" One of her own Pokemon had been poisoned by the same attack. Now it was payback.
Alice froze upon seeing the Leer, making her unable to dodge Ariel Ace. She slid back upon being hit. That hurt a lot! Her trainer's words gave her confidence. She could still do this. She sent out a cloud of powdery dust at the Heracross. She hoped it would work.

Jenna was unable to tell if Poison Powder had worked, but she was going to be careful. "Use Horn Attack." She hoped it would hit this time.
Timtom tried to hold his breath, but he still inhaled some of the Poison Powder. He could feel it affecting his system. Well, he was just going to have to defeat the Bayleef before he wore out. He moved forward for Horn Attack. It looked like the Poison Powder was working. Good. "Dodge and use Vine Whip!" Unfortunately, Alice was unable to dodge. The trainer hoped she would be able to hang in there longer than the Heracross.
The Horn Attack hit Alice this time, and it hurt. She immediately stuck out her vines to strike her opponent. This had to end soon. If her Poison Powder worked, her job would be a lot easier. She would wait it out.

Jenna nodded in approval. She was glad Horn Attack had worked. It looked like both Pokemon were wearing down. This was going to end soon. "Tackle!"
Timtom winced when he felt vines strike him. That did not feel good. There was no way he was going to let this grass type win. Though his energy was draining, he ran forward as quickly as he could. Kiki did not bother telling Alice to dodge. At this point, one more attack would do in the Heracross. Plus, Alice's Overgrow ability would activate if she endured a little more damage. "Razor Leaf!" She hoped this would do it.
Alice sucked in a sharp breath. She stood her ground while she flung out her leaves. A second later, she felt the Heracross slam into her. Which attack would prove to be victorious?

Timtom did not say the Razor Leaf coming, and there was nothing he could do to avoid it. He could feel the last of his energy leave him as he crashed into the Bayleaf. He fell to the ground next to her, fainted.
"Timtom!" Jenna said. She dipped her head in defeat. "You did well. Take a rest." After returning him to his Pokeball, she smiled at the challenger. "Good job. You and your Pokemon fought hard." She pulled a folded piece of paper out of her pocket before walking over to Kiki. "This is proof that you have defeated me." She held it out to her. She was impressed with the way she had fought. her victory had been well deserved. Species: Heracross Name: Timtom Gender: Male Level: 14 Attacks: Tackle, Leer, Horn Attack, Ariel Ace Abilities: Swarm, Guts, Moxie Hit By: Razor Leaf Used: Health: --- Alice has gained two levels. She now knows Reflect.

Alice stood back up and surveyed the situation. She looked at the Heracross in surprise to see that he had fainted. That meant she won! She turned to her trainer and grinned. <We did it!> They had defeated the first battle leader! She felt proud. She ran over to Kiki.
The girl grinned back at her Pokemon. "Great job, Alice." She bent down and hugged her. She could hardly believe they had won. Now she just had to defeat seven more battle leaders. If she continued to train hard, she knew she could do it. "You can take a rest now." After returning the Bayleef to her Pokeball, she looked up at Jenna. "Thank you. You battled well." She took the paper from her and carefully placed it in her pocket. "Have a good day." With that, she turned and exited the room. OOC: finished |
