The Helioptile did not respond to the Mudkip's question because it was not programmed for conversation. It dashed out of the way of the Tackle attack. Then it ran for its opponent, planning to Pound her with its fist.

Zoey frowned slightly when the Helioptile ran out of the way of Flower's attack. That was a fast Pokemon. "Flower, look out!" she cried. Too late. Her Mudkip was pounded by those strong fists of the Helioptile. She looked fine, though, which was good. They would have to learn from that. It was necessary to always be vigilant and on your feet in battles. "Use Growl and then Mud-slap," she told her. She thought it was cool how her water-type knew a ground type. This move was pretty cool too; it caused damage as well as decrease accuracy.
Flower's eyes widened when she came into contact with nothing and was still running. She skidded to a halt. Then she heard her trainer yell something about looking out. <Oof!> she cried as she was hit. Instantly, she sprang back to her feet, ready to get in a counterattack. She let out a low, fierce growl before taking mud and hurling it at the Helioptile. She enjoyed the mud-throwing very much. The Helioptile appeared taken back by the Mud-slap. It shook its head to get rid of the mud and then glared at the Mudkip. It then proceeded to use Thunder Shock.

Zoey was happy her Mudkip was able to hit her mark that time. The mud seemed to do some damage. "Look out!" Could a Pokemon even dodge Thunder Shock? Well, Flower was unable to. "It's okay, Flower.." She thought quickly about what move they should do next once she saw her Pokemon was fine and could still fight. She liked that the Growl had helped reduce the effectiveness of the electric attack. "Let's use Tackle!" She thought Flower was pretty fast, since was small and light, so this move should work.
Flower jumped up and down two times when her attack worked. Yeah! She was going to win this! Look out? What? The Pokemon did not seem to be attacking. <Ow!> she cried out as she was struck by Thunder Shock. Oh. Right, she forgot electric types did that... <You may have that fancy attack, but I'm still going to win!> She ran forward as fast as she could, ready to strike in a Tackle.

The Helioptile blinked at the Mudkip, not comprehending her words. It started to run when she came running at it, but it was not quick enough to dodge. It got up and charged towards its opponent itself. When it got close, it turned to pound the Mudkip with its fist.

Zoey was happy the Helioptile was not using a damaging move. That gave them one less thing to worry about. She wondered if these virtual Pokemon could plan their moves instead of using them randomly; that would give them a whole new dimension. "Okay, Flower," she said, thinking about their next move. "Let's try Tackle again!" She thought the battle was going pretty well. Flower seemed to be enjoying herself too, which was good.
The Mudkip grew excited as her mud hit her opponent. She was going to win this and show just how strong she was! She titled her head slightly at the sight of the Helioptile's tail. She snapped out of her little trance at Zoey's words. <You may have a weird tail, but I'm still going to get you!> she said as she ran at him.

The Helioptile shook off the mud before glaring at the Mudkip angrily. It then spun around and wagged its tail at the blue Pokemon. It was planning its next move. If it could plan, that is.

The Helioptile was able to run out of the way of the Tackle. When it was a good distance from the Mudkip, it used Thunder Shock.

Zoey frowned when the Helioptile dodged Flower's attack. "Try to dodge it!" she said when she saw the Thunder Shock. Too late. It was easier to dodge that kind of attack when there was a trainer to call out the move, not that it was that easy to begin with. She would be impressed with any Pokemon that could dodge such a move as that. "Alright. Let's Growl and Mud-Slap!" Mud-Slap was a better attack anyways.
Flower skidded to a halt when the Helioptile dodged. She turned around to find her opponent. Her eyes widened at the Thunder Shock. Her attempt at dodging failed, and she cringed in pain as she was shocked. She was glad when it was over. Now, it was her turn. Giving the electric-type a good Growl, she proceeded to throw mud at it.

The Helioptile attempted to dart out of the way, but it was hit by the Mud-Slap nonetheless. It grunted as it tried to shake the mud off. Then it turned toward the Mudkip and ran toward her. If it got close, it would use Pound.
