Psyche, ever alert, crouched and hissed at the nidorino as it stomped towards them. Likewise, Dawn, whose hair whipped around her, took out her earphones to try and hear what was going on over the rush of wind. She only even knew what Psyche wanted by the skitty’s body language.
Yare…? He isn’t sitting down or anything, Dawn thought to herself. Still in no good mood, even if this guy kind of reminded her of her grandpa somehow, Dawn wasn’t particularly courteous. ”What? You think you’re the only nutjob going for a hike in the middle of a storm?” she demanded, yelling to be heard over the wind. It picked up again, causing the jacket to billow around her. She smoothed her hair back from her face, squinting against the leaves littering the air.
Determined to keep up a brave face, she shrugged her adventuring backpack up higher before walking in the direction she’d last seen the trail. ”Ittekimasu, Kimoi-sa--!!” Here, Dawn was cut off by an entire branch collapsing before her. She stood stock still, foot still raised from where she had been about to walk right where that branch now laid. Putting her foot down, she turned to look at Kagirinai. ”You saw that, right?! The branch--the entire branch came down!!”
Psyche sat behind Dawn, wet and a bit disappointed in her trainer.

Kagirinai raised an eyebrow at her actions. Why was she so aggressive. Perhaps it was that time of the month for her. He had read that during certain times women could become alot more aggressive as well as have wild mood swings. He titled his head to the left watching her with a curious gaze. An interesting specimen. He had the urge to to dissect her here and now to find out just wait made her tick but he decided against it, he might gain the eye of some unwanted attention if he started experiment on humans. He blinked as a branch nearly fell onto the girl. He took note of her skitty whom seemed to be wet and looked on in disappointment of her trainer. He pushed his shades up as Dokuton stepped up in front of him and snorted, " Well it seems my Dokuton (Poison release) is eager for a fight. Would you care to battle against me?" he asked as he stepped towards Dawn. He took her right hand in his and bowed politely and deeply before kissing the back of her hand, " Ikazuchiarashi, Kagirinai and I formerly request to challenge thee in battle" he spoke before he stood to his full height towering over the smaller girl.

The nidorino wanted to fight? All right!! Much more battle eager than the rest of Dawn’s team and infinitely quicker to brawl than her trainer, the skitty didn’t even wait on orders to start. She whirled her tail around, grinning like a maniac. After being ever-so-properly challenged, Dawn put her hands on her hips, staring up at the red eyed guy. After a second, she sighed. ”Can’t really say no to a legitimate challenge,” she mused. Still ticked, she nodded. ”Fine, fine. I’m Dawn Berlitz, and I accept your challenge.” Once again, she was around someone freakishly tall. Was this guy even taller than Greed? Hm, he might be as tall as Yami… Wait, speaking of which, what was Yami’s surname again? Dawn cast a quick glance up at Kagirinai’s face; hm… they both had a similar look about them. Maybe they were related? At any rate, the moment the skitty heard Dawn accept, she leapt into battle. She span her tail around and got ready to use fake out on the nidorino. Of course, right now, she had no idea how badly she was outclassed. Neither of them did. level: 7 attacks: fake out, growl, tail whip, tackle, foresight, fake tears abilities: cute charm, normalize, wonder skin hit by: -- used: tail whip, fake out health: high green

Kagirinai folded his arms across his chest allowing the wind to blow his coat upwards into the air as a small cloud of dust spiralled round him giving him a dramatic look. His eyes changed becoming cold and calculating with a hint of... sadism behind them? His lips didn't even twitch as they remained still his gaze blank as he lifted his right hand to push his glasses up a dangerous glint before behind them as he spoke to his Nidorino in a soft, calm and calculating tone, "Dokuton you know what to do" he spoke. The right side of his lip twitched forming a small sadistic smirk as it graced its way onto his lips before it vanished as quickly as it appeared so not to be noticed. Nidorino gave a howl as he leered forth towards the Skitty beginning by lowering its defensive points. He watched with a pair of narrow black eyes, eyes cold like its trainer as he watched the movements of the incoming Skitty. The Skitty leapt towards him leaping right into battle tail spinning in order to strike him with a fake out. He lowered his head as the blow connected with the left side of his face. His body barely even moved his head moving to the right from the blow being the only form of flinching shown. The poison pokemon turned its head and stared at the Skitty with a sadistic smirk forming on his lips and spoke to her in his own tongue, a universal tongue understood by all pokemon, "Thank you Miss may I have another". He cackled as he stared at her in the eyes his face only inches from hers as if daring her to strike at him again. Nidorino lifted his right foot and stomped it onto the ground kicking up dust using it as a display of power. He raised his head and released a loud howl like noise, "Hroar!".

”PSYCHE, DON’T CHARGE IN BY YOURSELF!!” Dawn shouted, frustrated as her skitty, once again, acted on her own. Honestly, the only one of her pokemon that didn’t eternally disobey her was Mormo, and he was her newest! Shouldn’t her starter be the most obedient? Furthermore, it was horrendously embarrassing. This guy kept his cool and his pokemon was apparently pretty obedient, already trained through a routine. Yeah, she didn’t need this right now. All the same, Psyche’s tactic worked. The kitten backed off the nidorino as it came closer, hissing and growling in a threatening manner. His leer was pretty unnerving… but she wasn’t about to lie down and take anything! <If you really want it,> Psyche responded… ”You’d better use tackle,” Dawn warned her pink pokemon. The skitty flicked her ear, indicating that she’d heard, as she charged at the nidorino. Yeah, he was bigger than her. Did Psyche care? Nah, she was too proud for that. She hoped to be a glorious warrior heralded for generations. Genghis Khan wannabes didn’t have time to be overly cautious! level: 7 attacks: fake out, growl, tail whip, tackle, foresight, fake tears abilities: cute charm, normalize, wonder skin hit by: leer used: growl, tackle health: high green

Dokuton stomped the ground with his right front leg as he released a powerful leer towards the Skitty in order to lower its defence. He wanted to keep a home field advantage by keeping her defence low enough so he could do extra damage to the feline like pokemon. He lowered his head as she was ordered to do a tackle attack from her trainer. He had deemed to continue to take her blows head on in order for his poison point to try and take effect so she would be poisoned. Even though he could take her down without having to poison her a strategy was still a strategy, plus poisoning her would help end the battle a lot quicker. Dokuton proud himself on finishing his battles as quickly as possible. His claws dug into the ground as the skitty collided with him head on. His knees bent as he dug himself into the earth to keep from sliding back or even flinching as he took the blow. He grinned as he lowered his head staring at the Skitty with a rather smug look. He howled again as he began his return assault. He turned on his heels and struck out with his back legs for a double kick. He knew that skitty was a normal class pokemon so the most effective attack against her would be his fighting move double kick. Nidorino put as much force as he could into his back legs to strike out powerfully against the kitten like pokemon.

Psyche was sent flying, rolling over the earth. For a moment, she was dazed and remained in the leaf litter, unmoving. ”... P-Psyche?” Dawn pressed, suddenly very worried. The kitten got up, back arching once more. Crap, that nidorino was strong! Her nose dripped with blood and, though it wasn’t visible, her right shoulder and cheek were heavily bruised. That side of her face was already starting to swell. Flicking her tail in a tail whip, she hunkered down as she prepared to retaliate. She grinned, ever feisty. That hurt--a lot. ”C’mon, Psyche, I think this battle is over your head.” Dawn looked up to Kagirinai. ”Hey, I forfeit, you win.”<As if!> the skitty insisted, regaining her composure and standing boldly. She looked across to the nidorino. She chuckled. <I thought you wanted another?> Maybe she was a masochist. Regardless, Psyche vainly ran at the nidorino again, attempting to tackle it once more. Her luck might run out this time, though… She might get poisoned, for real. But, had her cute charm ability activated? Realizing that Psyche wasn’t going to stop, Dawn shrugged one strap of her backpack off, beginning to rummage around for the kitten’s pokeball. ”Psyche, you zona,” she muttered, delving into Hebrew for a cuss word. What was with that pokemon and fighting?! Dokuton stood his ground just standing there having barely even moved an inch from the spot he stood when he first appeared before them as if he was taunting the kitten. In a way he was taunting the other pokemon in order for her to get angry and lose her focus. By loosing her focus she would be more prone to making mistakes. Though from the blow the kitten had taken it seemed to have weaken her quite a big if her forming bruises, swelling face and the blood from her nose was an indicator. The kitten whipped her tail about to lower his defence in order to improve the strength of her attack. Dokuton looked at the trainer as she said she forfeited, oh well at least it was over quickly. Though the Skitty seemed to disobey her trainer's orders and charged in for a tackle. If there was on thing Dokuton couldn't stand it was disobedience. He let the tackle slam into his head his knees bent as he didn't even flinch or move from his spot. He threw his head up to toss the skitty back and lowered his gaze his eyes narrowing as he levelled a deadly and powerful glare onto the Skitty incorporating his leer into it. His glare was one so frightening it could strike fear into some of the bravest pokemon in the world. Kagirinai brushed a strand of hair away from his spectacles and spoke softly, "Dokuton" was all he said however that single word seemed to hold a secondary message beneath it. The Nidorino nodded his head and lowered his horn letting it glow as he launched off a barrage of poison needles, normally he would fire up to twenty to thirty this time he only fired five single poison needles in order to decrease the amount of damage caused by the blow. As he fired the needles he spoke to the skitty, "You should have listened child".

None of her attacks seemed to have any effect. She growled in frustration, fur rippling as it stood straight up. She landed gracefully from the toss, all four feet hitting the ground in a manner befitting a kitten. Suicidally brave as she was, all the skitty felt from the glare was a desire to turn it into tears. She had, after all, faced the haunted house with enthusiasm; fear was not an obstacle for the skitty like it was for her trainer. Psyche planned to take every threat by her pretty little paws and bash it. Dawn’s eyes widened at the sight of the needle strike. She said nothing, a bit shocked. Psyche trembled in the after effects of the attack. A few of the poison needles stuck out of her fur. Though poisoned, she remained haughty. <Who’re you c-callin’ a child, ya hatchling?> she insulted. Even when she was about to pass out from her injuries, the skitty remained bold. Whether it be ghosts, a poochyena, or this nidorino, Psyche remained resolute. She faced each opponent with the firm belief she could win. Her trainer was a bit jealous of all that confidence, actually. As of late, Dawn’s resolve had been shaken a bit. Holding out Psyche’s pokeball, Dawn blinked dumbly when the kitten finally passed out. Crap, she didn’t have any antidotes. But, it should be okay if she just kept the skitty in a pokeball until she got to a PokeCenter, right? She wasn’t sure. She hadn’t taken any classes on healing. Returning Psyche all the same, Dawn stared down at the pokeball before looking up to Kagirinai. Well. She’d lost. Again. Somehow, she felt a big resigned about the fact. Unsure of how to broach the subject, Dawn spoke uncertainly. ”Um… good battle?”What the heck were you even supposed to say when you lost? She wasn’t exactly a good sport or anything. level: 7 attacks: fake out, growl, tail whip, tackle, foresight, fake tears abilities: cute charm, normalize, wonder skin hit by: leer, poison sting used: -- health: fainted

Kagirinai watched the battle unfold as the skitty tried to stand strong but he could see her strength beginning to waiver. His opponent quickly recalled the skitty obviously it seemed as if her resolve had been shaken. She spoke with a tone of uncertainty as she spoke about the battle. Kagirinai pushed his glasses up before he reached into the sleeve of his kimono and pulled out an antidote and threw it towards Dawn aiming it to land at her feet, "Here" he said as he stepped forward and knelt beside his Nidorino and patted him on the head.
Dokuton accepted the small praise as he looked towards Dawn, her skitty had been quite disobedient in the battle, she needed more training. Still even after winning that battle and gaining a small boost in strength he felt he was half way towards being ready to evolve into a Nidoking.
Kagirinai walked up to Dawn standing about five feet away from her, "Your Skitty is quite a determined pokemon isn't she. It is a good trait to have" he said with a small smile making its way onto his normally apathetic features. He grabbed a pokeball from his belt containing the first pokemon he had caught a bunnelby. While he had no need for the rabbit like pokemon perhaps Dawn would have a better use for him. He extend his right arm out and used his left hand to grab dawns before he placed the pokeball into her hand, "Here take this as a token of my thanks for allowing us to battle against you" spoke Kagirinai his smile slowly dropping.
He quickly took on a rather serious expression, "If you ever wish for a training partner we would be happy to assist. While my methods could be called unorthodox they do work" said Kagirinai as he lifted his right hand and indicated towards his Nidorino whom had walked over to stand beside his trainer. Dokuton nodded his head as the indication, while he had not gotten physically stronger his mental strength had grown allowing him to perform in battle without commands , able to think on his feet in an instant.

Quirking a brow, Dawn knelt down to pick up the antidote. She bit back her pride for a second, for her starter’s sake, of course. Still, it was a nice gesture… she wouldn’t make a fuss about it. Letting the still passed out skitty out, she used the antidote. Psyche seemed to rest a bit easier after. Returning the skitty again, Dawn stood in time to look back up at Kagirinai.
And, suddenly she was recalled of that time back with Ayame and Lust, when she had decided red eyes were very nice. Dawn grinned when his little smile worked its way onto his face. However, it turned to confusion when he deposited the pokeball in her hands. After realizing what was happening, she grinned more widely. ”Thanks!” She never did refuse a gift. Pity she had nothing to give in return, but she didn’t expect pretty-much-strangers to go giving her things.
She almost missed his smile when it disappeared. All the same, the offer for advice was nice. Dawn nodded, shifting her backpack around front. Putting the pokeball away--she’d see what it was later--she got out her cell phone. ”That sounds great, actually! I’ve been in need of some good training!” She tilted her head, and offered her phone to Kagirinai to put his number in. ”... I guess you’re at Cherilli, too, huh? I’m a freshman!”

Kagirinai took the offered phone as she handed it to him. He quickly entered his number in saving it into her phone book before sending a quick text to himself in order to save her number to his own phone book. He handed the phone over to the younger girl, a freshman like him. He pushed his spectacles up using his right index finger to push against the middle as his glasses slid down. Of course while he was also a freshman this was his first time running into any of the other students, having kept to himself for the past few weeks in order to wander the ground and increase the strength of his pokemon. He was quite happy with his pokemon team at the moment his Nidorino being his strongest followed by his Taurus and now newly caught Elekid. He did have a Tangela but he had yet to use the pokemon in battle.
The scientist placed his hands into his lab coat, "Hai I to am a freshman. I recently transferred to the academy in the hopes of studying pokemon further" spoke Kagirinai. "Until now I have only interacted with one other student, two now that I have met you. I thought it to be adamant to improve my strength before hand" spoke the male student as he took the time to look over Dawn. With her height he really did tower over her quite a bit, it was probably unnerving to the shorter girl.
"Did you perhaps wish to come with me into the forest? I came here to improve the strength of my pokemon perhaps you would like to do the same?" offered Kagirinai as he asked the younger girl to train with him.

Taking her phone back, Dawn listened to Kagirinai explain himself. Wow, only one other student thus far? He… was a lot more dedicated to this than her. She just kinda ran her mouth and stayed in everyone else’s business. ”I don’t think it’s that big of a deal if your team isn’t all ready before you meet everyone,” she assured. ”I mean, you saw how I battle, and I’ve got lots of friends. It’s fine!” She waved, as if brushing her wrong assumption off. She thought the tall boy was concerned with appearances, not whatever his real motive was for training up his team.
And, between Yami, Greed, Lust, and now Kagirinai, Dawn had somehow gotten used to being unreasonably short. So, there wasn’t so much worry for the height difference. ”Heck yeah!” she responded to the invite. The wind whipped up particularly harshly that time and Dawn turned her back to it, letting her hair be tugged this way and that as small sticks and leaves hit her back. ”You’re older, though, so our safety is your responsibility!” she joked. Nothing bad would happen, probably.
Figuring she should have a pokemon out and ready for whatever they face, she thought it might be appropriate if she got out the one she had just been given. ”Spotlight,” she sing-songed.
Upon seeing the bunnelby, the weather was forgotten. ”Oh my gosh, no way!” She squatted down, in awe over the short critter. ”So cute!”
<Eh, wassup, doc?> the rabbit began, looking up to Kagirinai before catching onto what had happened. <... didja give me away?!> However, his protests were stopped short when Dawn scooped the rabbit up, cuddling it.
”Thanks, Kagiri--” she paused here, thinking about it. Hm, he seemed to be kinda traditional. If she was really grateful, she could think of a proper way to address him. ”D-Domo arigatou go, gozaimasu, Kagirinai-sensei!” He was teaching her. After giving the taller guy a big smile, she’d smile smaller, obviously sheepish. ”Uh… did I pronounce that right?”

At the older comment Kagirinai merely inclined his head. He would ensure there safety anyway with his Taurus and Nidorino they would be quite safe for now. He held out a pokeball returning his Nidorino into the sphere before grabbing another and calling out his Taurous whom he had named Gyuki. The Taurus appeared in a flash of white light its tails swaying behind him as he stomped the ground releasing a powerful snort blowing out a large amount of air that kicked up dust. He placed Dokuton's sphere into his lap coat as Dawn called out her new companion saying it was cute.
Kagirinai nodded his head at the rabbit having guessed what it had said, "I thought you would be in better hands with Dawn-san. I do apologise for the change in trainers" spoke the scientist as he apologised to the bunnelby for giving him to dawn but he suspected the rabbit would probably get over it.
At the sensei comment Kagirinai merely raised his hand and lazily waved it off, "If we were being formal it would be Ikazuchiarash-sensei however please just call me Kagirinai. If you wish to shorten my name Kagi is fine as well" spoke the male with a lazy smile. The Taurus walked over to Kagirinai and received a pat on the head, "This is Gyuki" introduced Kagirinai as he patted the bull pokemon on the head before walking past Dawn, "Shall we be off then?" asked Kagirinai once he received his answer he would head in further into the forest.
