Gary continued to watch the battle. Their opponent seemed to be switching things up again. He already knew his own strategy. "ROllout, once more!" He just had to keep this up.
Jolly turned and ran from the blizzard, but it was no use. He sadly turned back around to face his opponent. He rolled into a ball once again and rolled forward to hit the Delibird. He liked that his attack kept getting stronger. He could win this!

The battle appeared fairly even. With Present's ability to heal, however, that could quickly change. Plus, Rollout was getting stronger and stronger. "Dodge it!" Kiki cried, breathing a sigh of relief when the Delibird got out of the way of the attack. "Now use Present from above!" If her Pokemon could stay in the air, they would have an edge.
Haley was feeling much more confident now than she had been at the beginning of the battle. She was already in the air, so it was relatively easy for her to fly higher to avoid the Rollout attack. She did not move as she pulled out another Present, tossing it directly at the Darumaka.

Gary gritted his teeth in frustration when the Delibird finally dodged. Now it would be hard to use Rollout while she was in the air. Oh well. It had been great while it lasted. "Hang in there, Jolly. Use Tackle!" Hopefully, this would prove effective.
Jolly jumped up onto his feet when he did not hit anything. Before he knew what was happening, he was hit by another Present. He stumbled back but did not fall. He could not tell if he or his opponent were more tired. He was just going to have to continue to battle hard. He ran forward before leaping at the Delibird to hit her with Tackle.

Quick, dodge it!" Kiki called, but it was not to be so. At least Tackle was not as damaging as he last Rollout move. Though Present had just been successful, she did not want to use it too often to increase her odds of having a bad result, especially this late in the battle. "Use Blizzard!"
Haley smiled slightly at the result of her Present. So far, so good. She attempted to fly high to dodge the Tackle, but the Darumaka was too quick for her. She managed to catch herself and stay flying instead of hitting the ground. From her position, she wipped up a Blizzard and hurled it at her opponent.

It was back to blizzard. "Hang in there, Jolly." He could see this round was coming to a close, and he was unsure who would rise victorious. Of course, after this, they both still had two Pokemon left. "Use Tackle again!" That seemed like the best strategy for now.
Jolly landed on his feet after hitting the Delibird. That was better. A second later, he was covered in snow. He shivered at the effects of the attack. He did not like that one at all. He took another running leap so that he could hit Haley with Tackle again.

"Try to dodge it now!" Kiki called. The battle was too close to call. All of it could hinge on the next Present attack. Was she willing to risk it? She wanted to try it just once more. "Use Present!" She hoped she had not just made a terrible mistake.
Haley had already started flapping after using Blizzard. She was able to fly harder to get out of the Darumaka's reach. Feeling lighter with happiness, she swooped down and dropped a present right on top of him. That would show him for messing with her earlier!

Gary could tell that the Delibird was getting much better at battling as she went along. This made for a much interesting opponent. She was still too high up to use Rollout, so he had to go with the only other move his Darumaka move. "Tackle, again!" he hoped it would hit this time.
Jolly landed on his feet after missing the Delibird. He really wished he knew a fire attack; he was just going to have to get stronger! He shielded his face when a present came at him, but it did not do much damage. He immediately charged at Haley to strike hard and quickly.

Kiki clenched her teeth in frustration. Why wasn't Present doing anything more? Blizzard would not do enough damage to take out the Darumaka, and she did not know how much longer Haley would last. She was going to have to take another risk. "Present, one more time!" She hoped it would be worth it.
Haley was breathing heavily by now. She was too tired to dodge the Tackle, and she fell to the ground after she was hit. She struggled to her feet and faced her opponent. She managed to pull out a Present and throw it at Jolly. She hoped this would be over soon.

Jolly braced himself fro the next Present. This one was much stronger than the last, and it knocked him out instantly.
Gary held in a sigh. That certainly had been close. "Thanks for trying, Jolly. Return." He thought for a second about who to choose next, and then he pulled out a Pokeball. "Come on out, Tornado. Use Bubble!" This was going to be good.
The Goomy blinked as he stared at the Delibird. What was that thing? She looked kind of scary. Did he really have to fight her? He wondered what she could do to him. He knew he had to act strong, though, so he shot out a stream of bubbles directly at her. He hoped that would be enough.

Kiki smiled in satisfaction when the Darumaka was taken down. That had been an excellent battle. Gary's next Pokemon piqued her curiosity. She had never seen a Goomy in real life before. She wondered exactly how strong he was. She decided to stick with her former strategy this round. "Ok, Haley, use Present!" It would not matter if Present healed since Tornado had not yet taken any damage.
Haley puffed out her chest upon her victory. Her first battle had been a success! her confidence falter when she saw her next opponent. He seemed pretty strong. She was too distracted to dodge the Bubble, but it did not hurt that much. She could do this. She flew forward and pulled out a Present to throw at the Goomy.

Gary watched as the Present hit Tornado. The attack did not seem to do much partly because of the level difference. It was time to end this. "Jump in the air and use Tackle!" That should be enough to bring the bird down.
Goomy froze in fear when he saw the Present coming his way. What was that thing going to do? To his surprise, it only hurt very little. He could do this! He was wary about hitting the Delibird in the air, but he was willing to give it a try. He took a running start and jumped in the air to Tackle her.

Haley flapped her wings, but she was not quick enough to dodge the Tackle. This attack hurt more than any other one had. She landed on the ground with a thud and promptly fainted.
Wow, that Goomy really was strong. "Good job, Haley," Kiki said with a small smile. "Take a long rest." After returning her, she hesitated in thought before pulling out another Pokeball. "Penelope, you're up!" She was sure her little Seel would be excited to take on this challenge and gain some battle experience. "Start off with Headbutt!"
Penelope had a cnfident look on her face as soon as she was released. That Goomy did not seem so scary! She was almost sorry she did not have a stronger opponent. Still, she was going to perform her best. <Ready?> she said to Tornado. Before he could respond, she was already bounding toward him, her head lowered as she got close to use Headbutt against him.

One down, two to go. That Delibird had been tougher than she looked. Gary stared at the Seel critically, trying to figure her out. He was not going to underestimate this one. "Alright, Tornado, use Tackle against the Seel!" These two attacks would show him the strength of the battling Pokemon.
Goomy smiled when his attack caused his opponent to faint. he had done it! His smile faltered upon seeing the scary-looking Seel. <Uh... I guess so,> he said in answer to her question. Right when he finished speaking, he was bawled over by a Headbutt. <Hey, that hurt.> Well, he had to attack back now. He got back up and moved forward to Tackle her.
