The Goomy seemed almost hesitant to attack. Kiki hoped he was alright. For now, she was focused on her own Pokemon. "Penelope, dodge and use Icy Wind!" It was going to take some work to take down that dragon type, but she knew they could do it.
Penelope smirked at the Goomy's complaint. <Sorry.> That was the way the cookie crumbled. She quickly got out of the way of his own attack. <You're going to have to do better than that!> She took a deep breath and blew out a cold wind. She hoped he would like that better. This was fun!

Gary was thoughtful as he watched the battle. The Seel was fast for not having legs. At least she was at a power disadvantage. Something suddenly occurred to him. His Goomy had taken two turns of damage without attacking, so not there was a special move he could use. "It's your turn, Tornado. Use Bide!" This would work beautifully.
Tornado shivered as the cold wind enveloped him. He did not like that one bit. He shut his eyes fearfully but opened them upon hearing his trainer's voice. Bide? What was that? he found he instinctively knew what to do as he gathered up a ball of energy and flung it at Penelope.

Kiki's eyes flashed in surprise when the Goomy used Bide. Had they been planning that all along? That was unfortunate. At least Penelope's attacks did not do much damage to Tornado, so she did not take too much damage herself. They could still win this. "It's alright, Penelope. Use Growl and Headbutt!"
Penelope had not seen Bide coming either. There was nothing she could do to dodge the beam of light that struck her head-on. After getting back up, she growled in anger. He was asking for it now! She charged forward with her head lowered to strike back.

Gary was satisfied with the effects of Bide. The Seel could not dodge it, which was good. Still, they were going to have to do something about her speed, as she easily knocked over the Goomy. He thought he had just the thing. "Good job, Tornado. Now use Bubble!"
Tornado smiled slightly. Bide had worked; he liked that attack. His success was short lived. The Growl caused him to shiver in fear, and then he was knocked over by the Seel's head. <Hey!> He knew he had to keep trying, so he quickly got up. He blew bubbles at Penelope. He enjoyed this nice, simple attack as well.

Kiki thought her Seel was performing quite well against the stronger Goomy. Unfortunately, that Bubble attack was not going to help them. "Penelope, use Headbutt again." That was her strongest attack, so it was best to use it most often. She kept a keen eye out for any surprises that might come their way.
Penelope was not deterred by the bubbles that hit her. As she moved forward again, she could feel her body become heavier and slower, but she was still determined to hit her mark. <You're not going to get away that easily!> Her determination shown through as she attempted another Headbutt.

Gary could tell this was not going to be good. Both Pokemon were wearing down at about the same right, so he had to do something to get the advantage. "Quick, use Protect!" Unfortunately, this attack failed the Goomy, and he was struck hard by the Headbutt. Gary grit his teeth in frustration. "Use Absorb!" Yeah, that should do it.
Tornado shook slightly when he saw the Seel coming towards him again. he put up a light shield to block her, but it broke upon contact. He cried out as he flew across the ground. He did not like that attack at all. He got up and used Absorb. It was going to feel good to get some much needed energy back.

Kiki was nervous for a second when the Goomy used Protect but relaxed when it failed. So far, so good. She bit her lip upon hearing the order to use Absorb. As far as she knew, there was nothing she could do to avoid that. "Hang in there, Penelope. Use Growl and Icy Wind!" She hoped this would be effective.
Penelope did not halt when she saw the light screen in front of her, though she did let out a breath of relief when it failed. She jumped back and smirked at her opponent. <Had enough yet?> Her smirk faltered when she felt her energy drained. <That's no fair!> She growled before stirring up a cold wind and sending it flying at the Goomy. <Take that!>

Gary could not use Protect again because it now had an even higher chance of failing. At least Absorb gave back some energy to Tornado. He could feel this round winding down, and he was determined to come out on top. "You're almost there, Tornado. Use Tackle!"
The Goomy felt good after Absorb gave back some of his energy. The feeling was short-lives as he was suddenly engulfed in an icy wind. He shivered. <Stop doing that!> The Seel did not seem very friendly, which was too bad. Oh well. He would just have to attack back. He moved forward to release his best Tackle.

Kiki wondered how much longer her Seel could last. The Goomy was just too strong for them. She decided to stick with their best attack and hope for the best. "Use Headbutt!" After this, she still had one Pokemon left. It was not over yet.
Penelope was unable to dodge the Tackle. Though she did not have much strength left, she was still able to get back up. she was going to give this her all! That dragon type did not scare ehr. She lowered her head as she rushed forward to attack. She wanted to make this a good one.

"Quick, use Protect!" Gary called out. Fortunately, the attack worked this time. It was almost over now. The Goomy had been fighting well for his first battle, and he was still not near being finished. "Now use Bubble!" The Seel was tough, but he wondered how much more she could take.
Goomy put up a shield again, and this time it caused Penelope to stop in her tracks. He sighed in relief when he realized she was unable to hit him. He was glad he could stay a safe distance away while using his next atack. he sent a stream of bubbles at the Seel from where he stood.

Kiki was disappointed to see that protect had worked this time. This battle was winding down quickly. Looking at her Seel, she knew she would not be standing for long. She did not want to risk using a physically damaging attack, so she settled for her weaker attack. "You're doing good, Penelope. Now use Icy Wind!"
Penelope was surprised when she hit a wall and fell back. She glared at the Goomy, wanting to get at him. The Bubble attack weakened her, and she knew it was almost all over. Still, she was determined to not give up until it was over. using the last of her strength, she whipped up a mighty cold wind and hurled it at the dragon type.

Gary was impressed with the Seel's resilience. "You battle well," he complimented his opponent. Too bad that was not going to be enough. By his estimates, one more attack would knock her out. "Bubble, once more!" There was no use risking having Tackle miss.
Tornado shivered as he was once again enveloped in the cold. <Stop doing that!> It seemed that this was almost over, though. He was proud of himself for getting this far. Maybe he really was brave after all! He stayed put and sent out another stream of bubbles.

Penelope braced herself for the next bubble, but it proved to be too much for her. She fell in a mighty defeat after having fought valiantly.
Kiki was disappointed in the loss, but she was proud of how hard her Seel had fought. Also, it did not seem like the Goomy would be able to take much more damage either. They could still win this. "Thanks for your hard work, Penelope. You can take a rest now." After returning her, she chose another Pokeball and tossed it in the air. "It's your turn, Crunch. Use Quick Attack!"
Crunch looked around excitedly upon being released from his confines. What was this place? Oh, he had to battle, right. He was pleased with the command, for he loved running. He easily got into a Quick Attack, aiming for the Goomy. <Wee!> he cried as he raced forward.

Gary nodded in satisfaction when the Seel fainted. That was two in a row; he was on a roll. "Wecellent work, Tornado. Keep it up." He was pleased he had captured the Goomy. He certainly made a fine addition to his team, and his confidence seemed to be up after winning. He took a second to examine the Blitzle before calling out an attack. It sure was fast, but he had an attack where that would not matter. "Use Absorb!"
The Goomy smiled when he saw that he had won again. He was getting good at this! He was not phased this time by the new Pokemon that appeared. He could do this! Unfortunately, the Blitzle proved too fast for him. He let out a small <oof> as he fell on his side. He was relieved when he was asked to use Absorb. He could use some energy! He sent out a white beam to collect it from his opponent.
