Kiki was glad to see that her Blitzle was as fast as ever. They were going to have to use his speed to their advantage. Unfortunately, she did not know how to counter-act Absorb. They were just going to have to strike back harder. "You're doing fine, Crunch. Now use Tail Whip and Shock Wave!"
Crunch branced around the area after having hit his target. He was too oblivious to notice the Absorb attack coming, and when it did, he looked at the Goomy in surprise. <Hey! That wasn't fun!> He turned around and whipped his tail back and forth. Then he faced his opponent and snet forth an electrical shock wave.

Gary could tell his Goomy was wearing out even with the last Absorb. Since that was the case, it was best for him to set up for success his final Pokemon. "You're doing good, Tornado. Now slow him down with Bubble!" He was not sure if this would work, but he was willing to give it a try.
Tornado felt good after receiving some of his energy back. Unfortunately, his relief was short lived. That electrical attack hurt a lot! It reminded him of the storm he had witnessed earlier, and it made him afraid. He was glad he did not have to move toward that scary horse. He stayed safely where he was and shot out a stream of bubbles.

The Bubble was unfortunate, but Kiki knew this round was almost over. The experience was gong to do good for her Blitzle. After this, they would just have one more Pokemon to beat. This was really intense. "Now, Crunch, Quick Attack!" This should do it.
Crunch blinked at the bubbles that hit him. They hurt but not too badly. He could deal with the little squishy ball in front of him. <Yay!> he said when he was told to use Quick Attack. That was his favorite move. He zipped forward to strike his target. As soon as he was finished, he took a moment to charge up his electrical attacks.

The Goomy was unable to dodge the Quick Attack. He fell over on his side and fainted.
Gary had seen the ending coming, and he did not feel too bad about it. The Goomy had performed very well, defeating two of their opponent's Pokemon. He deserved a good rest. "Thank you for your help, Tornado," he said as he took out his Pokeball and returned him. Hmm... Who would be his final Pokemon? Against an electric type, he knew exactly who he was going to use. "You're up, Spirit." He tossed a Pokeball in the air to reveal a Deerling. "Use Growl and Tackle!"
The Deerling blinked and looked around. Oh, a Bliztle! He wanted to make friends, but he knew he could not do that right now. <Good luck,> he said before getting into battle mode. He growled as menacingly as possible. Then he dashed forward to ram into his opponent.

Crunch has gained four levels! He now knows Thunder Wave.
Tornado has gained one level.

Kiki smiled when she finally managed to beat the Goomy. "That's one tough Pokemon," she said to Gary. Hmm... Now he was using a Deerling. A grass type was a good choice against her electric type. She was going to have to be careful. "Good job, Crunch. We only have one more to go. Now, use Thunder Shock!" It might not do much, but it would do something.
Crunch let out a breath of relief when he won. That had been a good one. Could he go play now? He frowned at the Deerling that appeared. He looked like he would make a good friend, but he knew he had to battle him as well. He was too distracted by his thoughts to dodge the Tackle. Luckily, it did not hurt too much. he brushed it off and then sent forth his Shock Wave.

"Thanks," Gary said. He watched as the Shock Wave did a little bit of damage to his own Pokemon. This round was winnable, but he was still going to have to come up with a good strategy. "Alright, Spirit, use Sand Attack and then Double Kick!"
The Shock Wave tingled as it hit Spirit's body. <Hey, that feels funny.> Was that supposed to be an attack? Now it was his turn! He raced forward, enjoying the wind on his skin. When he got close to the Blitzle, he skidded in the dirt, causing sand and dirt to fly up into his opponent's face. Then he turned around and kicked twice with his hind legs.

Kiki had to appreciate the good strategy used against them. Crunch was stronger, but he had the type disadvantage and was already wearing down. This was likely to be a close one. "Shake it off and use Quick Attack!" She hoped it would work after that Sand Attack.
<Hey!> Crunch cried when sand was flung in her face. Now he could not se a thing! He was too busy trying to shake it off to see the Double Kick coming. He fell on his side with a grunt. When he stood up, he blinked to clear his eyes, but his vision was still blurry. He tried to focus onhis target as he ran forward for Quick Attack.

Good. The Sand Attack had worked well. This battle was far from over. "Dodge it!" The Blitzle's attacks were too pwoerful to risk being hit. Luckily, Spirit was able to get out of the way in time. "Now use Tackle and Growl!" They were chipping away a little bit at a time.
<Sorry,> said Spirit. The Blitzle seemed nice, but they were battling right now and could not be friends. Maybe later. Though his opponent was fast, his aim was off, and the Deerling was able to run out of the way. Without slowing down, he ran in a circle, aiming for the Blitle. After hitting him, he would let out a menacing Growl.

Kiki could see what he was trying to do, and there was no way she was going to let it work. This battle was hers to be won. At least Crunch's attacks were a lot more powerful than the Deerling's. "Try Quick Attack again, and then use Charge!" She hoped it would work this time.
Crunch was disappointed that his attack did not hit. He was too sad to notice the coming Tackle. He swayed on his feet but did not fall down. He did not like that Growl eaither, so he vowed to get the Deerling back. He ran again to hopefully make a successful Quick Attack this time. After he was done, he would charge up his electricity.

Gary knew he could win this as long as he was patient and slow. Spirit still had a lot of energy left, while Crunch was beginning to wind down. "You're fine. Use Double Kick and Growl." That was the way to do it.
Spirit was hit by Quick Attack this time, but he did not let this deter him. While the Bliztle was using Charge, he moved close to him and kicked him twice with his back legs. Then he ran forwad to get out of the way. Turning around, he growled once again. This sure was fun!

Kiki's teeth were clenched as the battle progressed. She could not remember the last time a battle had been so intense. Even if she ended up losing, she would learn a lot from it. Plus, it was always fun to battle a friend. "Now use Leer and Shock Wave!" After this, she thought she would try out the Blitzle's new electric attack.
Crunch was too intent on Charge to ntoiced the Deerling coming toward him. He was hit by his legs and sent crashing to the ground. He felt dizzy as he stood back up. How much more could he take? For once, he was glad he did not have to use his energy to run. He leered at his opponent before using his Shock Wave attack.

Gary watched as a strong electrical wave hit his Pokemon. Despite Spirit being a grass type, he knew it would do a good deal of damage. "Not bad," he said. They were just going to have to do better. "Now Tackle and Growl!" It was no use changing up a strategy that was working.
Spirit braced himself for the Shock Wave. He was growing tired, but he was still determined to give it his best. Battling was fun, and he would not run away! He ran straight towards the Blitzle to Tackle him. Once again, he growled once he was finished. Did he sound scary?

Kiki took a deep breath and let it out slowly to calm herself. She needed to have a level head if she was going to win this battle. It was almsot as if everything was happening in slow motion. Luckily, this gave her enough time to think of a plan. "Ok, Crunch, use Thunder Wave and then Charge."
Crunch was knocked down again by the Deerling's attack. He was finding it harder and harder to get back up again. When was this going to end? He back up a bit to get away from Spirit. Thunder Wave? He had never used that move. He tried hard to focus on the attack and then sent the wave straight for his opponent. Afterwards, he charged himself up.

Gary was surprised that the Blitzle knew Thunder Wave. He had not seen this coming. "Spirit, can you move?" he called. He grit his teeth when his Deerling made no response. This was not good. "Just hang in there and keep trying to move!" Hopefully he would break free soon.
Spirit moved back after growling. He expected the electrical attack that hit him to hurt, but instead it made his body freeze up! He tried to move at his trainer's words, but it was no use. He tried to fight down the panic that was rising in his chest. He had to stay calm. He could get through this.
