School Assembly: The Beginning of the Semester [EVERYONE]
|
Post by SammyMcSamSam on Feb 16, 2014 16:54:59 GMT -5
All of the bleachers were set up in the gym, ready for the assembly. The assembly was needed for the Principal and Vice Principal to address the students about the new semester and everything that it would entail. Vice Principal Turner was standing beside the podium with an attached microphone on it that had been brought in to be used so that the students would be able to hear them. He had his arms crossed and a frown upon his face. Occasionally, he glanced down at the watch strapped around his left wrist. This behavior was not due to him impatiently waiting for the students. No, he couldn't care less when they go there. No, this was because he was waiting for Principal Sash. She was late. Dreadfully late. As always... This assembly had been her idea, she said she would be there on time, and yet she was no where to be found. Earlier, he had gone to her office to see if she was there, but she was not.
Sash had these 'great' ides of hers that would improve the school that she wanted to explain to everyone. Turner did not want to have to talk about them himself. That was her job. His job was to introduce himself and say what he whatever it was he was supposed to say. More importantly, she was the Principal, so she needed to be here and introduce herself to her students. She really needed to get a watch. Maybe that wasn't even it. She needed to be more organized or something that would enable her to be able to get to things on time. She was often late to staff meetings as well. Sighing with exasperation, Turner glanced at his watch one more time. Where in the world was she?
Spike, Turner's Lairon, stood right beside him. He was really excited about this assembly. He loved to be around all the students, especially the new ones. He was also excited about hearing what Sash had to say. Oh, he hoped Sash would bring Maya with her; she was a nice friend. They always chatted and hung out during staff meetings and whenever their trainers were together.
This was getting ridiculous. Turner looked down at Spike. "Go see if you can find Sash, okay?" he said in a low voice in case any student was close by. He did not like the idea of sending his Lairon away, but it was necessary. Sash needed to be found.
Spike looked up at his trainer when he spoke. Find Sash? <Okay!> he said with a grin. He knew he was worried about where she was. He would help! He turned and headed for the exit. From there, he would sniff the Principal and her fire fox out! Granted, he did not have a particularly very good sniffer, but every little thing helped. He could use his brain too. Now, where would they be?

Dawn had a lot of negative qualities; tardiness was not among them. While most people tried to arrive fashionably late, she preferred to show up early and get things going or decide if it was a hopeless cause. Beyond that, the best seats were always taken first and the gossip was always juiciest when one was there to observe it directly. Yes indeed, Dawn had plenty of reasons to bother arrive promptly to the assembly.
As such, Dawn had arrived and taken a seat towards the upper middle second of the bleachers. She was not so high up that she would automatically land herself among the ‘alternative’ kids nor was she low enough to end up among the stragglers and kiss ups. From her position, she could hear or see basically anything that was happening in the crowd. It was more than pleasant for the blue haired girl.
While Dawn had brought her purse with her, neither of her pokemon were out. Marco would find someone to fight with in a crowd--it was simply in his nature. As for Psyche? If it was not something that would bring attention to herself, she had about zero interest. Besides, the blue haired girl was currently snooping.
If she wasn’t such a gossipy little thing, she might not have known how Vice Principal Turner was. She read through a few of the previous year books she managed to find in the library and had familiarized herself with who to go to for what in regards of staff. She still had yet to make as many connections among the student population as she would have liked, but she could manage for the first week or so with whom she had met. The vice principal’s muted frustration was lost on Dawn; she didn’t know enough about him to read him that well. She just figured his lairon was off to do something.
Occupation with the business on stage passing, Dawn looked among the other students. She wondered if there were any other members of Team Sinnoh nearby; she hadn’t been in her room enough to try meeting other people in her dorm. Then, she thought of those she had met. Where was Principal Sash? Had Rae gotten lost? Was Iason sitting on the bottom or the top? Dawn hadn’t really gotten a feel for where he would sit in their initial meeting. She scanned the bottom rows for boy whose pokeball she returned, certain that Brock was the type to avoid the top rows. Then, she looked for the side. Walter seemed more her speed; more than likely, he was in roughly the same area as her.
A part of her wondered if they were going to release a schedule for this year’s events. If they had a prom queen or anything like that, Dawn was going to pull some real Game of Thrones stuff if anyone dared to get between her and the crown. If it even existed.

An assembly. Yay. Not. Micah wasn't the type to enjoy assemblies. It wasn't that he minded crowds; he actually loved hanging out with others, even if he didn't have any many friends here. No, what he minded was having to deal with adults yapping at him for hours on end about things he couldn't care less about. And, in his experiences, assemblies were nothing more than some stupid adult droning on about things that nobody cared about.
Sometimes he wondered if this whole 'school' thing was for him. Yeah, he already knew it was because he'd gotten a couple of great Pokemon at it, but he wasn't much of the learning type. God only knew how he was going to act once classes got started and he had to listen to adults that he didn't want to have to deal with teach classes that he wasn't overly excited about. Well, some of them sounded cool, but others sounded totally lame and like a waste of his time.
Despite how much Micah would rather be anywhere but the assembly, he wandered in ahead of time. After all, he didn't want to get some sort of lecture after the assembly about the importance of being on time. He could play the rather respectful student most of the time, but he was fairly sure that he'd be at his limits if it got to that point.
He wasn't the type to put much thought into where he sat, but he did want somewhere that he could stretch out. He saw some random chick (Dawn) and decided he might as well sit next to her. Maybe she could keep him entertained while they were supposed listening to whoever ended up speaking to them. He didn't see the principal that had given him his Trapinch (who was securely in his pokeball), and he didn't recognize the dude that appeared to be in charge.
The way Micah was sitting was the most comfortable he could get on bleachers, taking up a total of three rows. His bum was barely on the row next to Dawn with most of it hanging off the back with his feet crossed at the ankle on the row in front of him and his back resting on the row in front of him. He rolled his head to the side to look at Dawn as he asked, "How long do you think we'll be stuck here?"
After all, he had better things to do than pretend to listen to whatever this assembly was going to be about.

Walter J. Satinwood { the prince of cool }Walter strolled into the gym, this was his second time here the first had been when he battled Dawn. Speaking of Dawn he wondered how her pokemon was. Taking a deep breath the brown haired boy moved quietly, yet quickly as he found a seat. Luckily enough he had seated himself a row behind and two seats over from the girl he was wondering about. Leaning forward he reached to tap her on her shoulder. "Hey Dawn how is your Vulpix?" He asked before he looked at the other kid. "Comfortable?" He questioned as he looked at Micah before there was a pop sound her, and his Vulpix broke out of her pokeball. "Kitten!" Walter sighed as he saw the fire pokemon crawl in the Hoenn boy's lap and attempt to curl up looking at him all sneaky like. "Sorry she has a thing for people who of comfortable or was it nerds." Walter said as he reached over and picked the fox up and placed her in his lap. She really didn't have a thing for nerds, Walter was just being a bit of a jerk towards the other male.

Micah's eyes had tracked the people that were coming into the gym, keeping an eye out for people he recognized. Really, he only knew Angelica, and that was because they were on the same team and shared the common areas of the dormitory. Actually, his first meeting with Angelica hadn't gone quite as pleasant as one would hope a first meeting would go as she had some ridiculous aversion to fire Pokemon, including his sweet little Vulpix.
He tilted his head back when a boy sat nearby and addressed the girl next to him. He glanced at the girl as he waited for her response, taking note of the fact that she, too, had a Vulpix. Good to know; if they ever battled, that was one Pokemon that he knew to be prepared for.
And then the boy was addressing him. "Yup," Micah replied with a cocky smirk when he was addressed. He was planning on leaving it at that, but then there was a Vulpix on his lap. Hmm...seemed the fire Pokemon was quite popular around here. "Hey there, buddy, he cooed as he reached to pet it. The other boy apologized and then tried to insult him. Silly boy should know better than to get into a battle of wits with the likes of Micah Allen. After all, he'd win, as he always did.
"Or maybe your Vulpix just wanted to be around a real trainer for once in her life," he said as the other boy took the Vulix back. Micah then turned in his seat to talk to the other Pokemon. "Is that what happened? Did you just want a new trainer?" he spoke in near baby talk. There was a smirk on his face as he hoped to insult the other boy.

As per usual, Dawn was rather picky about who she hung out with. However, she didn’t mind Micah. He even pulled off glasses decently, a feat not even she could brag about. Though, she did want to scream about his slouching. This wasn’t even soft material. How was he doing that? How? ”Probably a--” Before Dawn could actually answer the boy, a familiar hand touched her shoulder.
Dawn looked back at Walter, smiling softly. Ah, yes, Micah might have been nice looking, but the old saying birds of a feather stood true. Dawn really couldn’t resist Walter’s smug aura. Neatly, she fell into the pecking order. ”He’s fine. And, your aron? Rockstar, wasn’t it?” Dawn watched the exchange concerning the vulpix with a bemused smile, content to play onlooker.
After all, the situation was not unlike two bucks bashing antlers and Dawn was certainly a doe. As such, she was staying way the heck out of that, save to laugh at the loser of the verbal spar and promptly fawn over the winner (excuse the pun). She noted that Walter had a vulpix and a female one at that; maybe she could talk to him about getting her and Marco acquainted.
Dawn brought up a hand to cover her laugh. Maybe it was just her, but it felt like Micah’s jab of being a real trainer had a double meaning. After all, the vulpix was a girl who had just run off from “her man” into the arms of another. Even though she was basically between the two boys, she didn’t feel the need to move. Why should she? She’d only miss the action and drama if she did.

Seated on a weathered old bench outside, Rae's chin elevated as he cast a long stream of smoke into the air above. The hood of his dark grey sweatshirt was pulled up over his raven-hued hair, and the crown of his head hung back over his shoulders, exposing his adams apple and the skin of his throat to the chilly, February breeze.
He shivered a bit, and one of the loose, wooden boards creaked beneath his weight. "Uhhhnnnn..." he moaned in response to the influx of nicotine, the raspy sound traveling up from his solar plexus and into his mouth and nasal passage. His tongue lapped subtly at the taste of full-flavored tobacco and cadmium and he swallowed.
His adams apple rose and then fell naturally. Rae closed his eyes, imagining the chemically-laced saliva trickling down the ribbed-waterfall that was his throat and splashing into the sizzling depths of his stomach acid like spit in a frying pan. He wondered, as he stared blankly up at the dissipating smoke stream; if any ulcers had grown large enough yet, to protrude through the walls of his stomach lining...
He blinked his eyes, the lashes of his upper and lower lids meeting in a passionate frenzy of lustful-embracing. Every ounce of emotion and strength they possessed went into the single, intertwining moment, before they were mercilessly torn away from one another a split-second later. His hand rose instinctively to his awaiting lips and his fingers danced diligently, as they returned his lit cigarette to its natural resting place. Teething gently at the brown, speckled filter, Rae pursed his lips and pulled another long drag on the death stick.
Suddenly lowering his chin, his dulled, blue eyes scanned the immediate area and he thought, where the f@#k is everyone? It was eerily quiet and as his eyes roamed his surroundings, he saw not a single soul. True, he was posted up on a beat up old bench outside of the Grass Building. One which he had never sat on before and an area which he didn't even know existed up until about five minutes ago. And he had no idea whether students actually ever congregated around here or not. But, it was still pretty freakin' strange...
He leaned forward with this in mind, the bottoms of his forearms meeting the tops of his thighs. His left hand palmed his jawline as he slouched and his right hand hung carelessly between his knees. The lit ciggy still wedged between his lips, Rae squinted his eyes and listened. There wasn't a sound... not even a whisper. The fine hairs on the back of his neck stood erect like a sea of translucent souls with their hands lifted toward the heavens, praying to an invisible god.
Quickly plucking the burning cylinder from his lips, Rae eyed the cigarette curiously, trying to remember if there was anything but tobacco in this one? He suddenly longed for a familiar face to enter his view. Dawn, Jen, that boy *Randy from the Principal's Office, even his nightmare of a roommate **Jason something-or-other... anyone! He sighed, releasing the pent up lungfuls of toxic fumes into the world before him. Maybe I just need a nap, he considered, trying to remember the last time his head had met with his pillow. Unsure, Rae decided that was a good enough answer to get him moving toward his dorm and he drew a deep breath in through his nostrils, as he prepared to stand.
However, just before his plan went into literal motion, Rae spotted movement. He remained motionless, watching carefully as the door to the Gymnasium suddenly opened from the inside and swung outward. For the brief moment that the door was open, the smoker's ears were bombarded by the sounds of many voices all talking at once. Their combined efforts created a dull roar of incomprehensible-dialog and Rae's right eyebrow elevated in wonder. It was almost as if there was some sort of school-wide assembly taking place in there right now...
Casting that farfetched perception aside, the pierced Pokemon trainer returned his focus to the interesting looking creature that had emerged from the Gym. A Pokemon? he thought, noting its strange appearance. It had an extremely low profile, it's stubby legs barely keeping its body from dragging on the ground. It was a variety of greyish hues and looked to be covered in some sort of boney-armor, almost like an exoskeleton of sorts... a mixture between steel and rock. Rae couldn't put a finger on it, but he felt like he had seen the Pokemon somewhere before.
He couldn't recall if he truly had, nor where, but more importantly; what was it up to now? Since he didn't know any better, he might put his money down and bet that the Pokemon was, looking for something? Or someone, perhaps? It was a rather curious thing to Rae, to see this creature apparently wandering off on its own... But alas, it wasn't really any of his business and there was no way for him to know for sure exactly what the beast was up to. Unless of course, he followed it...
ooc: Rae is seated on a bench outside of the Grass Building, where the Gym is located and the assembly is taking place. He spots Vice Principal Turner's Lairon emerging from the gym and decides he's going to follow it and see what it's up to.

A school wide assembly had been called for. He emerged from his room, freshly clean and ready for whatever the assembly had to offer. Not really, he just didn't want to be in his room right now. As he got closer to his destination, he let out a sigh. Assemblies were always boring. He was pretty sure there was going to be a long speech b the disciplinarian(s) and there would be some introductions. He didn't see why it mattered, but adults always felt like these things did.
The only thing that there ever really was to look forward to at assemblies was hanging out with people you knew. He only had interaction with two people since his arrival, and one of the two was the vice principal. That guy rubbed Rameses the wrong way. How was it that you assumed that everyone was in trouble if they were coming to see you? Although, it was possible that he had been joking. If such was the circumstance, Rameses did not get the joke.
Rae. That had been the name of the guy he met in the hall. He wanted to tell Rae thanks for pointing him in the right direction earlier. The pond proved to be a reliable source of information. As he grew nearer, he spotted Rae walking away from a bench near a building he was not yet familiar with. He was still some distance away, but he figured he could catch up if he yelled for him.
"Rae!"
Rameses yelled while jogging over to the general vicinity. The cool, crisp Feburary air bit at his face and cooled his lungs.

She hadn't heard any sort of announcement about it but apparently there was an assembly going on. Jen had been lucky enough to overhear some other students talking about it on their way to the gym. She wondered why the school's staff hadn't told everyone over the intercom before hand. That didn't matter though. This was exactly what Jen had been waiting for. A chance to meet some of the other students and make some new friends! She followed the students she had overheard and soon arrived at the gym. As soon as she stepped through the doors she nearly lost her breath. The gym was massive and all of the bleachers had been pulled out to fit all of the students now seated on them. Jen's expression brightened and she could only think one thing. "Wow!"
She wondered where she should sit. She could see that certain groups of friends had already started to bunch together. She didn't want to end up sitting all by herself but she didn't recognize anyone in the crowd either. If only she could find Rae! Then maybe she would have her own personal guide and could fit in wherever he did. She began to try and spot his face in the crowd. She hoped he was actually planning to attend the assembly and wasn't still napping. Then again there had been no announcement so there was a good chance he didn't even know it was going on. "Oh well" she said. If she didn't find him soon she would just have to make due and go find a seat on her own. Surely some of these students were friendly and would welcome her in. Right?

"Rae!" called the voice out of nowhere, causing the smoker to turn his head in the direction of the sound. He gasped and nearly swallowed his lipped cigarette upon hearing his name. He spotted the boy with the orange hat jogging toward him and he immediately cursed under his breath. Rae had been trying to be stealthy and sneaky and follow the strange pokemon without being noticed, but this kid was going to blow his cover!
Shooting a quick glance back toward the pokemon, Rae noticed it had stopped and was slowly turning around in an effort to look his way. S#@t! Fortunately for Rae, the creature's stubby little legs worked in his favor and gave him a chance to react before being spotted! With only a second to spare, Rae turned his head and spotted a large rose bush a few feet away. Without hesitation, he lunged off the ball of his right foot and dove head first into the bush.
"Oomph!" he exhaled, as he fell into the cover of the foliage. Being that it was mid-February, there were no beautiful roses currently growing on the bush, but instead, only buds and sharp, pointy thorns. The mass of thorns ripped at his clothing and scratched at his skin and he bit his tongue to keep from voicing his obscenities and giving away his position to the pokemon. Rae could see out through a small hole near the bottom of the bush and the bone-armored creature was looking in his direction, but didn't appear to have spotted him. Rae breathed a sigh of relief, knowing his quick reflexes had enabled him to avoid detection, this time.
Rae continued to watch on, breathing as quietly as he could and as best he could; seeing as he still had a lit cigarette burning between his lips. The cancerous cylinder of doom had actually broken in half during the dive, but the lit half still hung by a few fibers of paper and the ash continued to smolder against burnt tobacco leaves. The pokemon suddenly turned its head, as it spotted the incoming Randy, jogging toward the Gymnasium... or so it appeared. Thinking nothing of it, the Pokemon turned back around slowly and continued on its way, eventually disappearing around the corner of a building.
The branches and thorns were caught up in Rae's piercings and even as his hands searched for some type of foundation to push off of, his palms only met with sharp and pointed torture. "D@#nit kid, why'd you have to pick now of all times to show up..." he growled quietly. Rae continued to wiggle around inside the bush, but the simple truth was; he was stuck. Now he would have to rely on the boy who had almost gotten him spotted, to help him out.
"Hey kid..." groaned the bush-monster in a raspy tone. "...Little help?"

Spike was not at all sure where he was going. He didn't even know where to start looking. His trainer had tried looking in the office before and they were not there, so that was off the list. The little steel Pokemon did his best to try and grab the scent of either Sash or Maya, but it was really hard. He wasn't a dog Pokemon or any kind that had a great sense of smell. He had to do his best and keep looking, though. It was for his trainer! The sound of someone calling ahead made him stop. It appeared they were calling to someone outside in this direction, which would mean that person was behind him. Unless he was just mistaking Spike for another Lairon. He decided to check out who was behind him, if there even was anyone. Unfortunately, given his weight (being made of steel made you very heavy) and his short legs, it took a long time for him to turn around.
Once he finally did turn around, he could not see anyone or anything behind him. He blinked in confusion. Then who was that other trainer calling to? It must have been a mistake. The person could have also already headed into the gym. Whatever the case, Spike needed to continue his search! He could scratch the dorms off his list; they wouldn't be there. How about the classroom building? It only seemed logical. She liked to talk with the teachers. Yeah, that sounded good. If not, he would go to the Fire building and then go from there. As he turned around again and began to walk in the direction of the classroom building, he hoped she was not outside of the academy grounds.

Brock walks in his hair all out of place from the terrible wind outside. Brock finds a seat away from everyone else and takes it looking over at the staff with a look of worry on his face, wondering what is going on he sets his bag down awaiting news from someone. Brock yawns and stretches beginning to get comfortable thinking to himself "Whole lot of competition in here". He smiles remembering all the previous Pokemon he has caught getting a head full of joyous thoughts.

An assembly. Even though Nate was not looking forward to the prospect of being in a room with a whole lot of people, he thought it was actually a good idea. He wanted to hear what they principal and vice principal had to say to them. He knew there had been many changes in the school since the previous semester. He wanted to get everything straight so that he would not be left behind. He did not plan to socialize, but it would be interesting to see the faces of his fellow students. He had not met any of the new students who had just arrived at the school. He wondered who was in his team.
Watcher the Eevee walked beside him as always as he entered the gym. Unlike his trainer, he loved seeing all these people. He wanted to rush around and meet them all. However he knew he had to listen to his trainer and stay by his side. Nate did not like all of the noise that hit his ears, and he tried to find a place away from the crowd. Not many people were in the front, so he headed that way. He found a seat by himself three rows from the front. There was a small smile on his face as he sat down. He wondered when they were going to get started. Watcher settled on his lap and looked straight ahead.

The school wide assembly was soon to begin as Shun watched the groups of students and teachers alike pass him by on their way towards the gym. Unlike them, he wasn't in any hurry. He'd make it in time, hopefully. These things always started the same way anyway. The head staff were probably going to give the usual expectance speech about how they wanted everyone to behave and what not. So he just took his sweet time as he strolled across campus. The wind as chilly as it was didn't mess with him much do to the red/black/white windbreaker he wore. Although, even if he didn't have his windbreaker he would be okay as he rather enjoyed the chilly breeze.
Hm? Halting himself, Shun had noticed something whilst he was walking past the classroom buildings. It was a silver armor clad pokemon just walking by. It sort of reminded him of a ryhorn. Wonder what it's doing around here. As he watched the pokemon more it began to sniff around a bit. Maybe it was looking for something or someone. Oh well, its none of my business. Taking his eyes off the armored pokemon he continued his trek. Wait...what if it was wild? ...What if he caught it? Influenced by his thoughts a nice smirk made its' way across his face. Reaching for the zipper to his windbreaker he unzipped it a little over half way, revealing Blint all snug and cozy inside. He didn't really take to the cold winds, and Shun preferred having him outside than in his pokeball. No one should be stuffed inside a ball for a day or longer. Blint, its time to battle. The fire mouse already knew from the look his partner had and nodded in agreement. It was decided. Shun was gonna battle the assumed wild pokemon and catch it, he had already turned about and started to run after it.

Ooc: I will reply with my other chars soon. Angie is at work.)
Greed strolled into the gym, his grey eyes scanned everyone and even though there were a few he needed to met up with he decided to take a seat at the top left of everything. Climbing up there he made a point to tap Daen and Shun on the shoulder but it could possibly have been taken as a mistake as he walked by. "That's not a wild Pokemon." He said over his shoulder as he passed Shun. Sitting down he leaned back and crossed his ankles and arms as he waited to see what was gonna be yammered about. With narrowed eyes he looked at the stage, at least he had a good view.
