Zoey blinked when Flower just flew straight through the Litwick. Then it dawned on her. "Oh, right," she said with a sweat drop. "Litwick is a ghost type, so normal type moves won't work. Sorry about that, Flower." Her Mudkip seemed to be alright, though. She had no idea why she had not thought about that. Of course she knew, but it had just slipped her mind for the moment. Maybe because she had not been entirely prepared for a battle right then and there.
She bit her lip lightly when Flower was attacked. She was being a terrible trainer right now, not knowing that Tackle would fail and then getting lost in her thoughts instead of telling her Pokemon to try to dodge! She forced herself to concentrate. "Okay, Flower. Growl and then use Mud-slap!" When she had looked up Litwick on her Pokedex, she had seen that Litwick was also a fire type. This made Mud-slap, a ground type move, strong against him. It would also lower his accuracy.
Flower's eyes widened when she hit nothing but air, even though she had aimed correctly at the Litwick, and fell to the floor. <Oof,> she mumbled. She got to her feet and faced her opponent. Right, he was a ghost-type. That was unfortunate. She knew it had probably just slipped her trainer's mind; it was understandable. <I know that!> she retorted to the Litwick. She winced as she was attacked. She quickly shook it off, though, and growled at the candle. <I'm still going to beat you!> She proceeded to throw mud at him. This was going to hit him!

Kiki still could not understand what the Litwick was saying, but she thought she could catch the gist of it. It seemed like she was responsible. Right, Litwick drained life forces. This was not good. If she did not do something, everyone at the ball could be in danger. From the looks of it, the ghost type was pretty proud of her actions. She could only see one way out. She turned her head to the food table. "Cody, come here!" Then she glanced back at the Litwick. "If I beat you in battle, will you stop what you're doing?" If she fainted, she would not be able to harm anyone, right?
Cody stepped forward and started to eat some of the food. His ears perked up when he heard his trainer's voice. <Sorry, guys.> He trotted over to where Kiki stood near the Litwick. <Hi. Who's this?> OOC: Sammy, could you take over my Litwick for the battle?

The Litwick smirked. This was going to be easy. <Right.> There was no way she was going to beat him. Was that supposed to be a growl? It did make him pause, and a second later he was hit by flying mud. <Hey!> Mud type moves were great against a fire type like him. Maybe they had been bluffing. He better take them seriously after all. <Taste my fire!> He blew out a vortex of fire, which would encircle his opponent for four or five turns. That should teach them!

Gary led the way over to the food table. He could see several Pokemon there, including his own, checking out the Pokemon food. "Hey, guys," he greeted them. His eyes scanned the table for food that looked good. Then he picked up a plate and grabbed a few desserts. Finally, he found a cup and poured himself some punch. He turned back to Faith to see what she had done.
<Goodbye,> Goomy said to Cody. He glanced up at his trainer when he approached the table. <Hello. Having fun?>

Nate followed Sawyer over to the food table. He could see that Gary and Faith were already there. "Hey, guys," he said. "That was fun." This dance was not that bad after all. He found a plate and picked out some desserts from the table. As he stood back and began to eat, he noticed that the other seemed kind of tired as well. This was quite odd. "Are you guys feeling drained too?" Maybe the lighting was getting to their heads.
Watcher layed down and closed his eyes for a moment. He just needed a little bit of rest before he ate...

Faith trailed behind Gary as they approached the food table. While she waited for her turn to get some snacks, she turned to Sawyer and smirked at her. "I saw you dancing. Did you have a good time?" She was glad her friend has finally gotten into the groove of the ball. Once Gary finished, she grabbed a plate and picked out some desserts. After getting some punch as well, she formed a circle with her friends. She glanced at Nate when he asked them a question. "Yes, actually. It's kind of weird."
Willy turned when he heard the humans approach. <Hi! We're not getting into any trouble.>

Zoey smiled slightly when the attack worked. Now they were getting somewhere. She frowned when fire thrown at her Mudkip and remained there, encircling her. Fire was weak against her, but it kept her from moving beyond it. It was a good thing Tackle was pointless against the Litwick and Mud-Slap did not require her to move. "It's alright, Flower. You can handle it. Give him another Growl and some more mud!" They would just have to keep going at this, and then they would win. At least, Zoey hoped they won. Flower and her had success in the past together, but ghost type always made the trainer a little wary.
Flower smirked when the Litwick seemed to be taken a bit off guard. That would teach him. She would not be underestimated again! She watched warily as fire surrounded her. It hurt for a moment, but then the pain left. The fire remained, though, which made her uneasy. She shook it off, though. She was a water type! She was stronger than silly fire! She growled at the Litwick again before picking up mud and throwing it at him.

Kiki's Litwick smirked at her. She wanted to battle? She was confident she would be able to handle that. <Of course I would never let you keep me from drinking all this energy, but I will fight for my right to do it if you're challenging me.> She glanced down at the little puppy Pokemon. He did not look threatening; she could take him. <I am the victor of this battle,> she said in response to his question. She got into a battle stance. <Ladies first.> She then proceeded to spit out embers at the Lilipup.

THe Litwick was pleased that his fire attack had worked. That was such a good one! Maybe he could do this after all. He was too busy celebrating that he did not have time to dodge the second Mud-Slap. <Hey!> he exclaimed as the mud hit his face. <Don't you have any other attacks?> He frowned when he seemed to not take his fire very seriously. Well, he had all sorts of other attacks. He decided to go the poison route this time. He released a discharge of filthy gases from his mouth to harm the Mudkip and potentially poison her. Now he was on a roll!

Sawyer followed Nate over to the food table. She could see that Gary and Faith were headed over there too. She gave them both a small smile as she caught their eyes. "Hello." She liked these people and enjoyed being around them. She bit her lip and looked away at Faith's question. "Yes, I did have fun. You were right about dancing." That did not mean she would take any opportunity to dance. She was already feeling tired. She looked at Nate in surprise when he noted the same thing. "Weird... Maybe it's something to do with the Pokemon?" She did not know what that could mean, but it was the only explanation she could think of.
Kopa stepped back to let the others eat. He then smiled upon seeing his trainer arrive at the table. <Hello! Are you going to eat too? This food is good.>

"We're going to battle," Kiki said to her Lillipup. She supposed she could alert Principal Sash to the Litwick problem, but she did not want her to think that her ball had failed. She could take care of this pesky ghost type! She was caught off guard by the Litwick's sudden attack, and she frowned slightly as she considered her own move. "Ok, use Odor Sleuth and Tackle!" She needed to be able to use normal moved against this ghost, and Odor Sleuth would do just that.
Cody blinked. Battle? He turned to the Litwick to find her throwing fire balls in his face. <Hey!> he cried as she shook his head. Fine, if she wanted to battle, then he would battle! He readied himself and used Odor Sleuth so that his normal moves would work against the ghost type. Then he bound toward her to Tackle her. Gary listened to his friends explain their own tiredness. So, it was not just him after all. "I am feeling tired..." It did not make much sense to him. It seemed like they all felt more tired than they should. Sawyer's suggestion caused him to think. Pokemon? Hmm... He looked around the room to see if he could get any clues. His eyes widened when he saw two battles going on - both against the same Pokemon. "Hey, those are Litwick!" He pointed at each of the ghost Pokemon. "I heard they drain the life forces of livings things. I bet they're making us tired!" Maybe that was why those two trainers were battling them.
Goomy blinked at his trainer's words. Pokemon that ate life forces? That did not sound fun! He gulped as he tried to appear brave. He hoped nothing would happen to him...

So, it was not just him. This was starting to get really weird. What kind of ball was this? Nate's eyes widened when Gary pointed out the Litwick. They drained the life force of living things? That was not good. "That makes sense. Do you think we should tell Principal Sash?" She might know what to do in this situation. She would not want her students to die because of some Pokemon. Then again, there did seem to be a battle going on. maybe if two of the Litwick were defeated, they would all back off.
Watcher fell asleep from exhaustion.

Faith looked from one Litwick to the other. So, that was the problem. Perhaps having a ball in the haunted house had not been such a good idea. This was the ghost Pokemon's home, after all. They were the intruders. If the Litwick wanted to suck out their life energies, that was kind of their right. Then again, catching them wasn't a bad idea. That was the right of trainers. She glanced at Nate and shook her head. "Let's see if those battles can solve the problem. We don't want to ruin Principal Sash's night if we don't have to. If this doesn't work, we can talk to her." The Mudkip and Lillipup seemed to be holding up well so far.
Willy walked over to Watcher and sniffed him. <You tired? You haven't eaten yet.>

Sawyer turned her had when the Litwick were mentioned. Then she saw them. They were odd Pokemon; they looked like candles. It seemed like they burned the energy of life from creatures like candle burned energy from wax. It was kind of creepy, really. She would not want to get too close to one of those. She turned to Faith and nodded. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan." Pokemon usually respected the results of battles. She hopped those two trainers could defeat them.
Kopa sat down and listened to his trainer curiously.
